Not much is known about the movie at the moment, but we shared everything we know so far below.
American film director David Bruckner is signed on to direct the film from a screenplay co-written by Todd Spence and Zak White. This marks Spence and White's first major sale at a major studio. They're longtime collaborators who have previously worked together on many short films. One of their most recent collaborations was co-writing the scripts for two episodes of the horror anthology series Creepshow.

David Bruckner (V/H/S, Southbound, The Ritual, The Night House, Hellraiser) has set up his next horror movie, with Deadline reporting today that Bruckner will direct a horror movie project titled Mice that’s being financed and produced by the horror masters at A24.
Deadline notes in their exclusive report, “Todd Spence and Zak White penned the script and the spec marks their first sale to a major studio, quite the sale for first time scribes.”
It’s a horror movie, we know that much, but plot details for Mice are being kept under wraps for now. If it brought A24 on board, we expect it’s a damn good horror script. Stay tuned.
A24 has been one of the leading forces within the genre for the last several years, with projects on the horizon including MaXXXine, The Front Room, Heretic, and “Crystal Lake.”
It’s a good time to be a horror fan.

‘Heretic’ Trailer: Hugh Grant Torments ‘Yellowjackets’ Star Sophie Thatcher in Religious Horror Film
Hugh Grant has been an Oompa Loompa, Tony the Tiger, Benoit Blanc’s husband, and now, apparently, a reclusive mad man with a penchant for tormenting young religious girls.
Grant leads A24 horror feature “Heretic,” the latest film from writers/directors Scott Beck and Bryan Woods of “A Quiet Place” fame.
“Yellowjackets” breakout Sophie Thatcher and Chloe East star as two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical Mr. Reed (Grant), becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
A24 additionally has fellow horror film “The Front Room” on the horizon, hailing from Robert Eggers’ brothers Max and Sam Eggers. The highly-anticipated “MaXXXine,” closing out Ti West’s “X” trilogy, also hits theaters in July 2024.

Almost two years have gone by since A24 announced that production was underway on the psychological horror film The Front Room, with Brandy Norwood taking on the lead role and Max and Sam Eggers – the younger brothers of The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northman director Robert Eggers – at the helm. Now we’re only a couple months away from the film’s theatrical release date of September 6th (a date that puts it in direct competition with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice), and A24 has just unveiled a trailer. You can check it out in the embed above. Update: FilmRatings.com reports that The Front Room has just received an R rating from the Motion Picture Association ratings board for language, some violent/disturbing content, brief sexuality and nudity.

"Being cooped up with a newborn and a mother-in-law can drive anyone crazy." So says Brandy Norwood's embattled mother-to-be Belinda in the nerve-fraying new trailer for A24's The Front Room — and honestly, on present evidence that may well be an understatement. Hailing from co-writer/director duo Max and Sam Eggers — brothers of Nosferatu filmmaker Robert Eggers — the siblings' psychological horror, based on Susan Hill's short story of the same name, sees a young, newly pregnant couple's (Norwood and Andrew Burnap) lives upended when the husband's stepmother (Kathryn Hunter) comes to stay. Check out the unsettling first trailer for the movie below;
What can we say? The Front Room's got it all. Dead fathers, profane religious imagery, Hunter on even creepier form than she was in The Tragedy Of Macbeth, and a power struggle for the soul of a newborn child — it looks like twins Max and...

Brandy Norwood has a tougher mother-in-law situation than most expectant parents in the first trailer for A24’s psychological horror movie The Front Room.
The feature from directors Max Eggers and Sam Eggers is set to hit theaters Sept. 6. Andrew Burnap, Neal Huff and Kathryn Hunter also star in the film that focuses on a couple with a baby on the way whose lives change dramatically after they allow the husband’s stepmother (Hunter) to stay in their home.
“This is my house,” Norwood says defiantly in the trailer. She quips, “Being cooped up with a newborn and a mother-in-law can drive anyone crazy.”
At one point in the trailer, Burnap explains, “She thinks that the Holy Spirit possesses her and gives her power.”
Later, Burnap tells Norwood, “She says that you hit her.” This leads Norwood to exclaim, “She wants you to think it was me.”

Okay, this looks fun. "The Front Room" is a new horror pic from the folks at A24, and it hails from writer-directors Max Eggers and Sam Eggers. The name "Eggers" will no doubt be familiar to some genre fans — Max and Sam are the brothers of Robert Eggers, director of "The Witch," "The Lighthouse," "The Northman," and the upcoming "Nosferatu." Can the brothers Eggers find the same sort of success as Robert? We'll have to wait and see, but I have to admit, "The Front Room" trailer, which you can watch above, looks mighty promising. Loaded with religious imagery and playing up the notion that young people are all at least a little afraid of the elderly, "The Front Room" stars Brandy as a pregnant woman who takes in her mother-in-law (Kathryn Hunter) after the old woman's husband dies. This turns out to be a huge mistake.

Brandy returns to the world of horror in A24’s new horror film which finds her character facing a truly evil mother-in-law. Watch The Front Room trailer below.
Your in-laws being the worst is the butt of many jokes, but what if your mother-in-law was actually evil? Not in a “you’re not good enough for my son” kind of way, more like “she might be stealing my child for demonic purposes” kind of evil.
Take a look at The Front Room trailer below.
The Front Room is directed by Max and Sam Eggers and yes, they are indeed related to Robert Eggers, who is getting ready to release Nosferatu later this year. It seems that all three brothers have the knack for horror, it must run in the family. The Eggers brothers are directing the film from their own script.

"She thinks that the holy spirit possess her, and gives her power." A24 has unveiled the official trailer for a horror thriller titled The Front Room, marking the feature directorial debut of the Eggers Brothers - Max and Sam. They're also brothers of the other filmmaker Robert Eggers and worked with him on a few of those films before making their own film. Opening in theaters this September. The Front Room is about a young, newly pregnant couple who is forced to take in an ailing, estranged stepmother. A24 describes it as: the incomparable Brandy returns to horror in a legendary face-off against Kathryn Hunter, the wickedest mother-in-law of them all. Starring singer / actress Brandy Norwood as Belinda, with Andrew Burnap, Neal Huff, and Kathryn Hunter. This looks like it's inspired by Get Out, with some creepy racist vibes permeating all the horror. It's kooky and frightening! Take a look.

Few last names have loomed larger over the indie horror space over the past decade than Eggers. After bursting onto the scene (and launching both Anya-Taylor Joy’s career and the term “elevated horror”) with “The Witch” in 2015, Robert Eggers cemented his status as one of his generation’s most distinct auteurs with “The Lighthouse” and “The Northman.” But he’s not the only Eggers looking to make a stamp on the horror genre.
The upcoming A24 film “The Front Room” is written and directed by Max and Sam Eggers, Robert’s brothers and frequent collaborators. A year and a half has gone by since A24 announced that they were re-teaming with Halina Reijn, the director of their slasher satire Bodies Bodies Bodies, on a erotic thriller called Babygirl, with Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), Antonio Banderas (Desperado), Harris Dickinson (The Iron Claw), Sophie Wilde (Talk to Me), and Jean Reno (Léon: The Professional) set to star in the film. Hugh Grant, Chloe East, and Sophie Thatcher star in the upcoming religious horror movie Heretic, which A24 will release on November 15, 2024, reports Deadline.
Announced in 2023, Heretic follows two Mormon missionaries intent on converting a man to their faith, only to discover the man in question is far more dangerous than they initially believed. It was later reported that Heretic started filming in Vancouver last October and filmed through November. With A24 coming to an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA, Heretic was one of several projects able to film while the strikes were ongoing.

The “X” cinematic universe is growing. Filmmaker Ti West shot a secret prequel called “Pearl” to his horror film “X” while in production on “X,” and now West and A24 are teaming up on a proper “X” sequel called “MaXXXine.”
Mia Goth will reprise one of her two roles in “X” as the story of “MaXXXine” takes place after the events of “X.” The sequel will follow the sole survivor of that film’s horrific events as she continues her journey towards fame, setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.
West and A24 unveiled the news with a minute-long teaser trailer that debuted after “Pearl”s premiere at TIFF’s Midnight Madness early Tuesday morning. In it, a static-filled screen cuts to an aerial shot of Hollywood in “Los Angeles 1985” as a bouncy 80s track plays in the background. When the camera moves in front of the Hollywood sign,...

Did you know "The Witch" and "The Lighthouse" director Robert Eggers has not just one but two brothers? And they're both in the business of making films themselves? Well, if you didn't before, you do know. Max and Sam Eggers are joining forces as "The Egger Brothers" to make their directorial debut on "The Front Room," a thriller that pairs them with their sibling Robert's frequent studio A24.
Far from a stranger to their sibling's output, Max and Sam Eggers previously served as, respectively, a co-writer on "The Lighthouse" and a production assistant on "The Witch." The pair were also production assistants on Robert Eggers' short film adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart" and got a "special thanks" in the credits for their brother's Viking thriller "The Northman." As such, it will be all the more interesting to see how The Eggers Brothers set themselves apart from Robert Eggers,...
