The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been under a lot of scrutiny lately, given the arrest of Jonathan Majors. After this, the studio was quick to drop the actor from the upcoming Avengers 5. While this is something that happened recently, it’s not the first time that a notable actor of the MCU has found himself in legal trouble.

In this regard, Venom actor Woody Harrelson has also had his fair share of run-ins with the law. However, in one specific incident, he got away with treating a taxi driver in a really cruel way.

No matter how much Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland have tried/try, for the some of us, Tobey Maguire is the original Spider-Man, and he completely deserves that spot. After all, it was Maguire, via the original Sony trilogy, who brought forth the neighborhood superhero to theaters for the older fans, the first-ever depiction of Spider-Man that we saw on the big screen.

We still don't have a release date for NetEase's Marvel Rivals, but the game seems to be making good progress as the developer announced plans to host a Closed Beta Test. Like the previous Closed Alpha Test, which was exclusive to PC users in North America, the Beta will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in North America, Europe, and Asia.
The Closed Beta program will begin on July 23rd and run until August 5th. During this time, anyone invited to participate can experience the Super Hero Team-Based PvP Shooter that features two opposing squads comprised of Heroes and Villains pulled from the Marvel Multiverse.
The Beta will include all previously revealed characters, including the two recent additions of Venom and Adam Warlock. Ahead of the beta, NetEase released a character spotlight trailer that highlights Venom's ability kit.

Why do we bestow upon Hollywood’s finest the name of ‘stars’? Consider this for a moment; it is not mere hyperbole: these big screen icons exude an aura that can carry charismatic waves across an entire room, drawing us into their gravitational pull. And thus, it won’t be wrong to say that Austin Butler, the Golden Globe-touting charmer, incarnates this star-quality phenomenon.
For instance, last month, he mesmerized and gave Sarah Harris, host of The Project, a rosy-cheeked tizzy. He worked his magic with the finesse of a maestro, making laser-focused eye contact and using a voice that seemed to channel Elvis Presley himself—all without revealing too much about his game.

A masterclass in magnetism, Butler’s smoldering charm was not only palpable to the enamored interviewer but also to the legion of fans who found themselves orbiting his star power in the comments.

There’s no doubt that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the best games of 2023. Peter Parker and Miles Morales might have managed to save New York City from Kraven and Venom, but their adventures aren’t over yet.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 left a lot of questions unanswered about what comes next. While many hoped that a Dlc would expand upon the game, some believe that Insomniac leaks might’ve axed entirely any possibility of an expansion.

Taking a respectable 17-20 hours to beat its main story and around 25-29 hours to earn the Platinum, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 isn’t a short game by any means, but it isn’t as long as many Aaa games tend to be these days.

The cinematic universe of Hollywood has seen several actors and actresses seize their big breaks in unexpected ways. In this regard, the Star Trek franchise plays a pivotal role in launching the careers of numerous A-listers. However, among the list of such stars, Dwayne Johnson stands the tallest with his appearance on Star Trek: Voyager.

Tom Hardy — the actor without a single flawed performance in his career (with the humble exception of Capone) — brings something new to the table every time he steps into a frame. Be it film or television, the individuality of Tom Hardy is captivating, inevitable, and wholly exceptional.

Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy is arguably one of the best depictions of Batman. However, the films aren’t without their flaws, with Bane’s voice from the third and final installment failing to impress most fans. However, actor Tom Hardy, who played the role, revealed he anticipated the backlash.

During an interview, Hardy opened up about crafting Bane’s voice and suggested Nolan with an alternative. Furthermore, Hardy also suggested the caveat of moving forward with his version of Bane’s voice, as it could have easily gone wrong. Here is what Hardy said about Bane’s voice in The Dark Knight Rises.

Look, honest truth is Sony has struggled to get people interested in ‘Spider-Man’ spinoffs. Outside of the ‘Venom’ franchise, the live-action spinoffs have been varying degrees of bad. But perhaps things can turn around with the upcoming “Spider-Noir.” At least this has the pedigree of being a Lord & Miller production. And the cast is shaping up to be pretty great.

Actor Dennis Quaid co-starred alongside Cousin Skeeter star Meagan Good in the 2019 horror thriller The Intruder. Given how intense and intimate the movie was, Good asserted that scenes could be a bit extreme between herself and her onscreen partner — so much so that she joked that she needed to establish a safe word.

The Intruder was a callback to older thrillers. Good starred in the 2019 feature alongside Michael Ealy as a young couple being stalked and harassed by their house’s previous homeowner. Good had already worked with Ealy before. But Intruder marked the first time the actor teamed up with Dennis Quaid, whom she was a huge fan of growing up.
“With Dennis, it’s something a little different because I grew up watching him, and he’s absolutely incredible,” Good once told Brief Take.

Tom Hardy is known for his transformative roles and incredible performances in films. He has performed to perfection in films such as Inception, Dunkirk, Legend, and Bronson, and has also starred in blockbusters such as Venom. He was last seen in The Bikeriders.
Despite phenomenal performances, Hardy has only received an Oscar nomination once for The Revenant as a supporting actor. The actor was reportedly convinced by co-star Leonardo DiCaprio to give the script a read after which Hardy agreed to join the film.

Though quite a few fans did figure out the twist beforehand, this week's episode of The Boys concluded with a big reveal relating to Jeffrey Dean Morgan's character, Joe Kessler.
Spoilers follow.
At the end of "Dirty Business," we learn that Billy Butcher did not save his old mate's life when they both served at the Panjshir Valley in Afghanistan, and the late Kessler has been a figment of his imagination all along.
There's been some speculation that Kessler actually exists as a manifestation of Butcher's V-induced tumor, who takes over when the host unleashes his powers, not unlike Marvel's Venom. Showrunner Eric Kripke addressed this theory during an interview with EW.
"I don't think he's like Venom. I don't think he's a dude with his own point of view and wants to go eat chickens or whatever, but I think he represents all that's dark and malignant inside of Butcher.

Actor Meagan Good was known for starring in lighthearted projects like Cousin Skeeter at the start of her career. She has since branched out to include a variety of movies in her resume. But she might be understated as a horror movie star as well, having starred in her fair share of slashers and paranormal films. This made sense, however, as it was the Halloween franchise that inspired Good to be an actor in the first place.

As is the case with many actors, Good knew that she wanted to be involved in the film industry as a child. But she told Cigar & Spirits that it was all a matter of how badly she wanted to pursue a career in film.

Who will direct the next Bond film? David Michôd and Kelly Marcel are reportedly in contention, as well as All Quiet On The Western Front’s Edward Berger.
Yesterday came a report that Edward Berger, director of the horrors-of-war epic All Quiet On The Western Front, is among the names being considered for the next James Bond film.
To that list we can now reportedly add Kelly Marcel (pictured), who’s currently putting the finishing touches to this autumn’s Venom: The Last Dance, and David Michod, who broke through in 2010 with his acclaimed crime drama, Animal Kingdom.
This latest report comes from Jeff Sneider, who seconds World of Reel’s earlier story that Berger is currently being considered by Eon and producer Barbara Broccoli.

While it might be something of an exaggeration to say fans are hugely excited for Venom: The Last Dance, there's certainly plenty of intrigue.
Rumours continue to swirl that Knull, God of the Symbiotes, will somehow factor into the threequel. Plus, the presence of Rhys Ifans - best known for playing The Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man: No Way Home - has also generated speculation online.
We'll have to wait and see how impactful Venom: The Last Dance is to the wider Ssu (Sony's Spider-Man Universe), but it looks like the threequel will have plenty of time to tell its story.
According to Feature First, the movie's runtime is currently clocking in around the 2 hours and 15-20 minutes mark (135-140 minutes).
Common sense says this will change in the coming months but it means Venom: The Last Dance will be quite a bit longer than both...

Daniel Craig left some rather large shoes to fill after he exited as James Bond with his final Bond film “No Time to Die” in 2021. Three years on and we are seemingly no closer to finding out who the new 007 is than we were right after that movie. But… the debate around who we think should be the next Bond rages on, with every film fan having their own thoughts on who would be best suited for the role.
Craig himself was a stark departure from the ultra-suave Pierce Brosnan before him, with Craig bringing more grit, brutality, and gruff vulnerability to the role. Will producer Barbara Broccoli go for the same type as Craig, will they revert back to the smoothness of a Brosnan-type, or will they go for something different entirely? Well, here’s an extensive list of 30 actors who could theoretically take up the mantle of 007 next.

As far as we're aware, Marvel Studios still hasn't found a director for Spider-Man 4. It's looking increasingly unlikely that the movie will be released next year and, even with Kevin Feige heading to Hall H, an update in San Diego is doubtful because Sony Pictures controls the franchise.
There continue to be conflicting rumours about what we'll see in the movie, with Black Cat, Scorpion, Venom, and even The Kingpin all mentioned in recent months.
The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez has chimed in with an update on the web-spinner's future, promising that "Spider-Man will be a very important character for these next few stories," including the upcoming Avengers movies.

Insomniac Games, the studio behind the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, and some of the most popular titles in recent years, has made it clear that it’s not working on a remaster of their 2014 hit, Sunset Overdrive.
The studio is mostly known for its Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank Games. Instead of these franchises, the studio is fully immersed in developing Wolverine, which is set to release sometime in 2025.

Several years ago, Netflix shook things up by not only including top ten charts on its platform for viewers to see, but the streaming giant also made a whole website dedicated to sharing viewership metrics. It has provided an odd window into what people are watching on the world's largest streaming service at any given time. At the moment, a whole bunch of people are watching a new action flick called "Trigger Warning," which stars Jessica Alba as an ass-kicking Special Forces soldier/bar owner.
As of this writing, director Mouly Surya's film is sitting firmly in the number one spot on the Netflix movie charts ahead of the DreamWorks animated flick "Home" and Universal's "Fifty Shades of Grey." The latter film's star, Dakota Johnson, has been having quite the run on Netflix, as Marvel's "Madame Web" recently dominated the charts as well -- but that's another story altogether.

Jonathan Jackson is making his long-awaited return as Lucky Spencer on “General Hospital,” Deadline‘s Lynette Rice reported.
According to the outlet, Jackson will be back in Port Charles as his Daytime Emmy Award-winning character “later this summer in what is expected to be a long run.” This also marks the first time Jackson will have been back on the show since making a brief appearance in 2015.
The news of Jackson’s return to the show coincides with executive producer Frank Valentini letting it slip earlier this month that a former male cast member would return and that fans would “go crazy for him.”
Look for Jackson to begin taping later this summer at “General Hospital” with his first airdate set for early fall. Storyline details remain under wraps, but fans should expect a reunion of sorts between Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Lucky as they deal with what’s happening in their children’s lives,...

The Emmy-winning actor will reprise his role as Lucky Spencer on the long-running ABC soap opera in what is said to be a long stint. He is set to return to “General Hospital” later this summer.

In 1977, Godzilla became one of Marvel Comics' biggest stars, headlining a hit solo series set in the heart of the Marvel Universe.
Now, thanks to an exciting new collaboration with Toho International, the Japanese studio's U.S.-based subsidiary, this host of monumental Godzilla escapades co-starring many Marvel superheroes will be collected next year in Godzilla: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus.
To celebrate the Omnibus which assembles Doug Moench and Herb Trimpe's entire 24-issue run in colour for the first time, Marvel Comics plans to release brand-new "Godzilla Variant Covers" on select September issues.
Before we get to those, here's the official description for the upcoming hardcover:
Godzilla rises from the depths in the United States - and the Marvel Universe! See the towering scourge of Tokyo march across America and battle some of the best and brightest the House of Ideas had to offer, including the Fantastic Four,...

Exclusive: This is the announcement that General Hospital fans have been waiting for: Lucky Spencer, aka the Emmy-winning Jonathan Jackson, is on his way back to Port Charles.
Soap viewers have been salivating over the possibility of a major star returning after Gh executive producer Frank Valentini teased it on the red carpet earlier this month at the Daytime Emmys. “A former cast member is coming back,” he told ABC7. “And I think that the audience will go crazy for him.”
That him turned out to be Jackson, who hasn’t been on the soap since 2015 when he returned for a brief stint. He’s coming home to the ABC sudser later this summer in what is expected to be a long run.
More characters from Gh‘s past will make appearances in the next few months, too. The sudser already confirmed that Bryan Craig will reprise his role as...

We’re less than seven months away from the latest spin-off of the Spidey-verse, Kraven the Hunter. Sony has yet to release the full synopsis of the upcoming feature, but the overall basis of the film is Sergei Kravinoff being on a mission to prove that he is the greatest hunter in the world. The trailer for the Aaron-Taylor Johnson-led film was just released and well…it was certainly interesting. Sony has been on a mission to expand the Spideyverse going back as far as Spider-Man 3. They’ve managed to capture success from the Venom spin-offs, and the animated Miles Morales films have...

La comedia sobre el alunizaje del Apolo 11. © Sony Pictures

Venom: Let There Be Carnage was a marked improvement over Venom, but still dropped the ball in ways many comic book fans couldn't forgive.
Woody Harrelson was a suitably bonkers Cletus Kasady, while No Time to Die star Naomie Harris did her best with the material she was given as the villainous Shriek.
Her sonic blasts played a key role in the sequel's final battle, and after failing to take revenge on Detective Patrick Mulligan, Shriek fell to her death before a massive church bell landed on top of her. It was a pretty definitive end for the character, though comic book fans will be all too aware that heroes and villains have managed to come back from worse than that.
Alas, in an interview with MovieWeb, Harris confirmed Shriek is done and won't be making a surprise appearance in this year's threequel, Venom: The Last Dance.
"Shriek was well and truly dead.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage's post-credits scene promised us a clash between Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock and Tom Holland's Peter Parker, only for that to come to nothing when Spider-Man: No Way Home rolled around.
In that movie's stinger, Eddie and Venom - who never left Mexico - were sent back to their reality, but only after leaving a piece of the Symbiote behind.
Venom: The Last Dance's trailer seemed to suggest the moment is being retconned, though we know many of you argued that the scene in question likely takes place back on Eddie's Earth (with that piece of the Symbiote playing a key role elsewhere in the threequel).
As for what all this may mean for Spider-Man 4, scooper Daniel Richtman believes the Venom: The Last Dance trailer was likely a misdirect and, as of now, the plan is for the Venom Symbiote to appear in the movie.

Earlier this year, nonprofit story consultancy Good Energy teamed up with Colby College’s Buck Lab for Climate and Environment to release a tool to measure the representation of climate change onscreen, dubbed the Climate Reality Check. It was inspired by the popular Bechdel-Wallace test, which measures the representation of women in TV and film, and applied to 2024’s crop of Oscar nominees to mark its launch.
The Climate Reality Check is a straightforward two-part evaluation that asks whether, one, climate change exists in a project, and two, if a character knows it. In April, the two groups released a report applying the test to popular films of the past decade, crafting a list of IMDb’s most-rated films between 2013 and 2022; films that are nonfiction, high fantasy, not set on Earth, and/or set primarily before 2006 or after 2100 were not included in the study. Of those 250 films, only 24 films passed the Climate Reality Check.

Marvel recently announced its latest What If…? comic storyline, and it looks at an utterly interesting possibility instead. After all, in the multiverse which teems with possibilities, everything that can happen, has already happened, in some universe. The upcoming story, set to release on August 27, is titled ‘What If…?’ Wanda Maximoff and Peter Parker Were Siblings: A Scarlet Witch & Spider-Man Story’.
Authored by Seanan McGuire, it looks into the universe where our very own Scarlet Witch, who spends much of her childhood in an orphanage, is adopted by a certain May and Ben Parker. This leads to Wanda Maximoff becoming Wanda Parker, leading to a great number of adventures that seemingly end in tragedy for both characters.
The possibilities associated with this story, and the fact that it brings together two of the most compelling characters of Marvel’s rich universe, the arc itself is food for thought, as far...

Remember a few weeks back, when there were no major wide studio releases, and how that turned out? Expect a repeat this weekend with only one movie getting a substantially wide release as “Inside Out 2” remains in the lead. Read on for Gold Derby’s box office preview.
“Loving” and “Take Shelter” director Jeff Nichols returns with the motorcycle drama, “The Bikeriders,” which will probably get the widest release of the new movies this weekend via Focus Features. Set in the late ’60s and early ’70s, it stars Jodie Comer as a Chicago woman who gets involved with a biker named Benny, played by Austin Butler, part of Chicago’s Vandals bike club, led by Tom Hardy‘s Johnny, The movie also stars Mike Faist from “Challengers.”

Sony Pictures, following Disney, ranks as the second most active studio in Marvel content development. Prior to 2019, Disney, Fox, and Sony held the reins, but Disney’s acquisition of Fox altered the landscape. Despite Disney and Sony’s deal to integrate Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony retains rights to Marvel characters, aiming to forge its own cinematic universe centered on Spider-Man’s villains and anti-heroes.
However, Sony’s efforts to establish this universe largely faltered, marked by only a few successful projects. Most recently, both ‘Morbius’ and ‘Madame Web’ proved to be significant box-office disappointments.
However, recent reports indicate that Sony remains steadfast in its commitment to expanding its cinematic universe and exploring supporting characters from Spider-Man’s world, which could have significant implications for the MCU moving forward.

Sony Pictures is, after Disney, the second most prolific studio when it comes to developing Marvel content. Before 2019, there were Disney, Fox, and Sony, but then Disney purchased Fox, and although Disney and Sony made a deal that brought Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Sony still believes that they can use their rights for Marvel characters to build some cinematic universe featuring villains and anti-heroes associated with Spider-Man.
This attempt at creating their cinematic universe, in large part failed, due to having only a few successful projects with the latest two, ‘Morbius’ and ‘Madame Web’ being absolute flops.
Still, according to recent reports, Sony is not giving up on their cinematic universe or their supporting Spider-Man characters, which will undoubtedly affect the MCU in the future.

Jodie Comer found it hard mastering a Chicago accent for 'The Bikeriders'.The 31-year-old star has shown a flair for accents through her work on the TV series 'Killing Eve' but admits that it was a challenge to perfect the tones of her alter ego Kathy in Jeff Nichols' picture that is based on a photo-book of the same name by Danny Lyon.Jodie told The Hollywood Reporter: "I would say that Kathy's accent is probably the hardest one that I've done. I was given 30 minutes with the real Kathy being interviewed by Danny Lyon, and I was so struck by how singular and unique her dialect and cadence was."So I started working with a dialect coach, Victoria (Hanlin), and she told me, 'All the vowel sounds are a contradiction. This is something that is entirely her own.'"And I said, 'I want to get...

George Miller’s Mad Max Saga has been a long-standing franchise, which he started back in 1979 with Mad Max. The movie starred Mel Gibson in the lead role, and continued for two more movies till 1985. Then Tom Hardy came into the picture with the Mad Max reboot in 2015, which became a box office hit worldwide. But instead of continuing on its success, Miller decided to do a prequel movie with Anya Taylor-Joy as Furiosa.

In Mad Max: Fury Road, Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron came together as Max and Furiosa to deliver a blockbuster. Unfortunately, Miller was unable to recreate the same magic with Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, starring Taylor-Joy in the lead. And with the mediocre response of the latest movie, things are not looking too good for the franchise, which had plans to continue after the prequel movie.

Maximum Carnage...Absolute Carnage...King in Black. Every few years, the wild symbiote corner of the Marvel Universe erupts in a saga oozing with violence, drama, and insanity that only Venom and his kind can deliver.
This August, the next milestone symbiote event arrives in Al Ewing and Iban Coello's Venom War. Today, you can get a glimpse at the battles to come with cover art and details for the new tie-in issues on sale in September, including all-new limited series and the reveal of the second issue of the main series.
Ewing has been laying the foundation for Venom War since the beginning of his current run of Venom. Over the weekend, we brought you the news that Venom: The Last Dance may have plans for Knull, God of the Symbiotes. Sony Pictures arguably hasn't done enough to build to his debut, though the Venom franchise and "logic" have never exactly gone hand-in-hand.
Today, we have a counter rumour from scooper @MyTimeToShineH. Apparently, Knull isn't in the Venom threequel and is instead the studio's "ultimate villain for the spinoff-verse so they're keeping him for a crossover event."
With Tom Hardy strongly hinting that his time as Eddie Brock is over, how likely this is remains to be seen. Not helping matters is the fact Morbius flopped after setting the stage for a team-up between the Living Vampire, The Vulture, and other villains in a widely ridiculed post-credits scene.
Madame Web, meanwhile, was standalone and it's too soon to say what will become of Kraven the Hunter.

Over the past 24 hours, a rumour has surfaced on social media which suggests Venom: The Last Dance will feature the debut of Knull, one of Eddie Brock's greatest enemies on the page.
It's said that he'll be the one who sends the symbiote-eating Xenophage after the Lethal Protector because he needs him to "execute a secret master plan." As of now, there's no word on who would play Knull or how big of a role he'll likely play in the threequel.
However, other reliable social media scoopers have since chimed in, and it sounds like there's at least some truth to this.
Knull was introduced by writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Stegman and first appeared in 2018's Venom #3. The villain is an ancient, malevolent deity and the creator of the symbiotes, including Venom and Carnage (he also has ties to Gorr the God Butcher).

Hollywood filmmakers had once found a magic recipe to create a superhero movie with a budget of $100 to $200 million and gain at least $500 million at the box office. While that may have been the case in the past, the February 14 premiere of Madame Web, starring Dakota Johnson, told a different tale.
This reinforces the idea that having a superhero set alone is insufficient and that a strong story would make all the difference.
First look at Sydney Sweeney and Dakota Johnson from Madame Web
This disaster was a severe blow to Sony’s Spider-Man universe and raised concerns about what would happen to the company’s future projects, particularly the Tom Hardy film that is due for release later this year.
Juno Temple has high hopes for the Tom Hardy starrer Venom: The Last Dance
Sony’s Spider-Man universe started off the year with a rather lackluster performance with Madame Web.

2023 was an unmitigated disaster for the DC Extended Universe and even Marvel Studios struggled after The Marvels bombed at the box office.
For Sony Pictures' Marvel Universe, things haven't been good for a long time. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 went way over budget in 2014 and a combination of lower-than-expected profits and negative reviews left them with no other choice than to share the web-slinger with Marvel Studios.
Those movies have been a massive success, but Sony's own live-action efforts have been a mixed bag. Venom was a box office hit but ended up being eviscerated by critics. Venom: Let There Be Carnage was in a similar position, but Morbius and Madame Web are destined to go down as two of the biggest superhero flops ever made.
The buzz surrounding Kraven the Hunter is already extremely negative (especially in the wake of countless delays) and there doesn't appear to be...

J.K. Simmons initially made Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man trilogy more worthwhile via his role as J. Jonah Jameson. The angry, mustached, and always-smoking J. Jonah Jameson made Peter Parker’s life absolute hell, until the time Maguire got a bit of the Venom attitude we see Tom Hardy portraying today.
J Jonah Jameson in No Way Home | Marvel
Simmons then returned as a variant of his iconic character in 2022’s No Way Home, but fans were given multiple reasons to be unhappy about the reprisal. That also seems to be true with respect to the actor himself, who claimed in an interview that he actually did advise the creators to stick to the rendition which initially became famous via the Sony movies.
However, as the bald head, and his arguably annoying persona in No Way Home proves, his advice was not heeded.

Taking over the mantle from Andrew Garfield, the Tom Holland version of Spider-Man took a majestic leap straight into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, kick-starting a new era of collaboration between Marvel and Sony. The entry of the teenage web-slinger, though, happened under the banner of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man during the split within the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, with the character remaining in the shadows of his mentor for quite a long time.

Much has been said about Tom Holland’s 4th Spider-Man movie and about its contents, despite the fact that the studios by themselves have so far been utterly mum about it. Fans will know that 2021’s No from Home left the web-slinging hero at a disastrous turn, with most of his allies having forgotten his identity completely.

For the time being, however, it appears that fans might have to create excitement for the project via a single piece of information.

In 2012, The Amazing Spider-Man promised fans an "Untold Story," only for it to be very much the same as what we'd seen in Sam Raimi's movie.
While the trailers featured innovative Pov web-slinging scenes, those were largely absent from the finished product and what we did get proved largely underwhelming. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 upped the ante, though, delivering high-flying sequences more in line with Raimi's trilogy.
When Marvel Studios rebooted Peter Parker for the MCU, a great many changes were made to the character...including making him a "Friendly Neighbourhood" Spider-Man.
As a result, it wasn't until 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home that we got a true "final swing."
According to scooper @MyTimeToShineH, the plan is for Spider-Man 4 to feature web-slinging sequences more in line with what we saw before Marvel Studios' trilogy. This will surely be music to Spidey fans' ears as it was sorely missing...

The highly anticipated trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, which is the concluding chapter to Tom Hardy’s Venom trilogy and the latest addition to Sony’s Spider-man Universe (Ssu), finally dropped on June 3, 2024. It has already hit 21M+ views on YouTube and 29M+ plays on Instagram. But, in classic Sony fashion, it’s got the internet buzzing for all the wrong reasons. The trailer starts fine enough, featuring Eddie Brock (Hardy) sporting the same clothes he wore during his brief trip to the MCU in Spider-Man: No Way Home’s mid-credits scene. The upcoming MCU project Deadpool & Wolverine represents a range of good things for the overall MCU. It is set to see a grand entrance of X-Men and a range of mutants into the universe, and will also see the return of the iconic Hugh Jackman as the titular character, last seen in 2017’s Logan.
Jackman’s portrayal of the character has firmly been a part of the mainstream and has led to Wolverine becoming a global icon, recognized not just by comic fans, but by everyone else as well. While we have seen Jackman find immense success with his role as Wolverine, the mutant itself has undergone a plethora of development with respect to various comic book storylines.

Sony’s Venom: The Last Dance, Everything You Need To Know (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Sony’s Spider-Man Universe will continue with Venom: The Last Dance as the last chapter in the trilogy is confirmed to follow up the 2021 sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The series is highly anticipated to follow the antihero Marvel Comics character, Eddie Brock, and the alien organism which bonds well with his symbiotic alter ego. Despite the character’s absence from standalone films, Venom has made a memorable appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline following a brief crossover in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
After Sony’s villainverse was brought to the MCU in Let There Be Carnage, Marvel fans are eagerly waiting to see what’s next for Venom. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait much longer as The Last Dance is already underway with a new storyline, a new writer, and a new director.

To some, releasing a trailer for Venom: The Last Dance during Pride month might just be a happy coincidence. But for queer fans of the Tom Hardy-led film series, the timing of this release was everything. While the previous entries in this film series, Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, have been generally panned (including by some of our staff), there is a subset of fans who celebrate the films for the queer subtext lying beneath that flashy blockbuster facade. And a lot of this has to do with Tom Hardy’s portrayal of both Venom and Eddie Brock.

Imagine. The year is 1994 and you are a huge superhero fan. You sit down to watch your favorite cartoon show, a thrilling battle of good versus evil. In this week’s episode, Charles uses his mental might to clash with a blue enemy who promises to be his friend.
The cheesy voice-acting and choppy animation doesn’t disrupt the experience. In fact, it makes it better, intensifying the clash between Charles and the blue guy until you can’t take it anymore and you unleash your hero’s battle cry:
“Spoon!”
Because, of course, you’re not watching X-Men: The Animated Series, nor even Batman: The Animated Series, both respected superhero cartoons that get ample praise today. No, the Charles in question is Brainchild, a precocious evil pre-teen (voiced by Rob Paulsen) who enhanced his intelligence by giving himself a glass covered throbbing brain.
