Sex & Nudity

  • The main character owns multiple nudie magazines. Throughout the first part of the film they are frequently shown, although it's only topless women.
  • A photo of a nurse with her breasts exposed is shown several times.
  • A mom throws some magazines at her son, which have nude women on them, breasts and butts visible.

Violence & Gore

  • There is not much violence and gore in the film. People are shown dying, but in the entire film there is only one somewhat graphic death.
  • A mom and dad hit their son upside the head several times.
  • The main character is obsessed with chemistry, particularly poisons. He poisons several people, including members of his family, and they are shown ill and sometimes vomiting. One woman has blood on her mouth. Most of the other people vomit a lot and lose their hair.
  • A man discusses how he killed his parents. He describes several vivid and violent dreams. He later hangs himself and is shown hanging.
  • A man dreams of hanging himself.
  • It is implied that a man kills himself by ingesting metal shavings.

Profanity

  • Some strong swearing, mostly the "f" word. Some uses of "bastard".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • People are shown smoking, but this is infrequent and isn't focused on.
  • Alcohol is shown in the film, and in a couple scenes people are shown drinking it.
  • Almost none.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The film is overall not incredibly upsetting, but there are a few sequences and scenes that can be disturbing to some viewers.

Violence & Gore

  • In the first part of the film, the main character attempts to poison his own mother. This takes absolutely ages, as her physical state slowly deteriorates while the protagonist feeds her poison disguised as medicine. Over time, she turns more and more pale, her hair falls out, she grows progressively weaker and thinner, until she eventually dies. This is by far the most graphic death in the entire film, but it is not in any way gory.

  • The film is about the main protagonist killing many people with poison.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A number of people are shown ill and writhing in pain, victims of poisoning. The film ends in a suicide.
  • The film is about how a teenager murders his mother, and later on murders many of his co-workers. Although the film is a comedy, it is also quite intense and can be upsetting.
  • The protagonist's mother's physical state slowly deteriorates as he poisons her. She eventually dies, but this takes many many weeks. She is shown in a lot of pain and extremely ill. This can be upsetting.
