The Netflix anime series “Terminator Zero” brings the franchise back to its horror roots on August 29, and the streaming service has debuted the official teaser trailer this morning.
The vibe here is far more in line with the original Terminator movie than the subsequent sequels, with “Terminator Zero” promising a return to those ruthless serial killer roots.
Watch the first official trailer for “Terminator Zero” below.
Ann Dowd (Hereditary), André Holland (“Castle Rock”) and Sonoya Mizuno (Civil War) have also joined the show’s voice cast, alongside Timothy Olyphant as the Terminator.
Rosario Dawson will voice Kokoro, “an advanced AI and Japan’s answer to Skynet.” Deadline notes, “If brought online, Kokoro will be endowed with the same power as Skynet.”
Deadline details, “Dowd will take over as The Prophet, the philosophical guide for the human resistance, a light shepherding survivors in the darkness of the unknown future ahead. Holland is Malcolm Lee,...

The Big Brother 26 cast takes over primetime this summer on CBS, and fans want to know who is playing the game this time.
During older seasons, the houseguests would be revealed around a week before the first episode. It created buzz and it let fans familiarize themselves with the players.
But with the newer seasons, the producers have been holding back the cast lists until right before the first episode airs.
Not knowing the players when the season premiere arrives in a few days, many Big Brother fans have taken to social media to share their frustrations.
It’s particularly difficult when the show doesn’t come out and announce exactly when it will happen, leading to the hope that a cast list could drop at any moment.
What we do know is that the players have been selected, they have been sequestered, and the media blitz will happen in...

Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley learn the price of perfection — and the pressure of the male gaze — in the first red band trailer for director Coralie Fargeat’s Cannes body-horror sensation “The Substance.”
The film tells the story of a former Hollywood star (Moore) whose career decline lands her in Jane Fonda-style fitness-show territory. Upon being fired, she’s offered a revolutionary medical treatment named The Substance, promising to deliver a younger, enhanced version of herself.
The engaging teaser trailer starts with Moore gazing into a mirror, accompanied by a mesmerizing voiceover: “Have you ever dreamt of a better version of yourself?”
This question sets the stage for a thrilling first look, packed with high-energy imagery. We see Dennis Quaid disgustingly chomping on food, unsettling shower sequences, the mysterious “activation” serum, and Moore violently flying across a room onto a table. Adding to the intrigue, Moore angrily smears lipstick across her face,...

All midseason finales don't need to go out with a massive cliffhanger. Or even a bang.
They just need to do enough to leave you wanting more.
Did the Last Power Book II: Ghost midseason finale pull that off? Yes and no.
This season of Power Ghost has been more hit-and-miss than we're used to, but even with some hours that weren't the best, the series continues to be one of the most entertaining on television.
And that's exactly what this hour was.
It may not have ended on a crazy cliffhanger that will keep us guessing until the show returns this fall, but it didn't need to. We'll still be coming back to see how this story finishes.

General Hospital (Gh) spoilers tease that this week in Port Charles, New York was one for the history books in terms of emotional impact, naughty mischief, and Wth moments. Keep reading to revisit the brazen dramarama, and the implications to come, that went down in the little city by the docks.
Let’s start with Blaze (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and Kristina Corinthos (Kate Mansi) and their whiplash story. The most intimate they have been is when Blaze’s mom caught them in bed together. Since then it’s been strictly G rated but now Kristina wants to have a baby with Blaze, or rather, keep the baby she’s carrying as a surrogate.
Fans knew that unstable Krissy would find her way to this conclusion but the way it’s playing out is sloppy and choppy. What do you think?

Luigi’s Mansion 2 first launched nearly a decade ago on the Nintendo 3Ds. Players assumed the role of Mario’s scaredy-cat brother Luigi, equipped with a vacuum-like weapon called the Poltergust 5000. Under the guidance of Professor E. Gadd, Luigi set out to explore five haunted mansions found in the creepy Evershade Valley. His goal was to retrieve scattered fragments of the Dark Moon, a mystical object that once kept the valley’s ghosts calm but had recently shattered.
Armed with only a flashlight and suction abilities, Luigi encountered all manner of ghoulish foes within the manor’s walls. He had to flush ghosts from hiding spots and weaken them with light before “busting” them into his vacuum. Throughout each mansion, puzzles and secrets awaited discovery. Players were rated on speed, health, and cash collected on replays. Optional bonuses are unlocked, like finding rare ghosts or diamonds.

Ghost’s debut feature film Rite Here Rite Now has proven to be a big success at the box office, grossing over $5 million worldwide.
Following the movie’s opening weekend (June 20th through the 23rd), the total gross of $5.04 million put the hybrid narrative/concert film into the global box office Top 10 at No. 9 despite limited screenings compared to the weekend’s other feature films. It was screened in over 1,800 cinemas across 49 territories.

This felt like an old-school episode of Power.
Ghost and Tommy, fresh off a betrayal, trying to figure out how to salvage their business, all while leery of everyone around them, and even each other.
But they figure it out and make a move that sets them up beautifully for the long run. Until something inevitably gets in their way and causes everything to fall apart again.
Now we know Power Book II: Ghost is a whole other animal, but this had a lot of old-school vibes to it, and we even got a Ghost and Tommy mention, which further makes my case!
With Tariq and Brayden deciding they weren't content to play pretend at school and fight and claw for minimum wage (at least for Tariq), the next step was figuring out how to get back into the game.
I've said it before, and I'll repeat it: Tariq has lucked into many things.

Marvel’s 2019 San Diego Comic-Con panel in Hall H had a lot of exciting announcements for the time. But the most thrilling moment occurred at the end of the presentation when MCU boss Kevin Feige brought onto the stage Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali to announce a new Blade film. The audience erupted in cheers, excited by the idea of seeing the Daywalker onscreen again.
Twenty years earlier, about when the original Blade movie was released, such a response from even comic book fans would have been unthinkable. Not because superhero movies, especially those with Marvel heroes, were not popular. Rather it would have been unthinkable, because Blade was a character obscure even to most comic book readers. There were many who might’ve not even know the character existed until he showed up on Spider-Man: The Animated Series in 1995.
Yet, thanks to two great movies starring a never-cooler Wesley Snipes...

Ghost have surprise released their new song “The Future Is a Foreign Land” as part of the soundtrack to the band’s new big-screen movie, Rite Here Rite Now.
The track is being billed as a “1969-era Ghost song” in the vein of previous singles “Mary on a Cross” and “Kiss the Go-Goat,” and “written” by Papa Nihil. The lyrics make references to a future that includes 1984 and 2024.
The movie Rite Here Rite Now — which combines a narrative story with concert footage — began screening in cinemas worldwide on Thursday night (June 20th). The film will continue its limited theatrical release over the next week, with participating theaters and showtimes listed here.
The full soundtrack to Rite Here Rite Now will arrive on July 26th, with pre-orders available here. The rest of the 18-song soundtrack is made up of live performances recorded at the Kia Forum for the movie.

Call of Duty is one of the longest-running gaming franchises to ever exist and stood well against the test of time. The developers, on the other hand, are having problems with keeping up and are running out of ideas faster than players are running out of bullets.
The live service structure took a toll on the franchise and the developers are doing everything to adapt. Other studios took advantage of this structure and encouraged crossovers with other franchises and turning them into cosmetic items and Activision is doing a bang-up job on that front.

The concept of a cultural object as “Marmite” – ie you’ll either love it or hate it – is an overused one but may come into play here. Rite Here Rite Now is essentially a rock concert film, showcasing the Swedish theatrical rock band Ghost, and it’s exactly the sort of on-the-face-of-it loud and wacky business that people like to describe as a Marmite movie – but the truth is that at its core, it’s a pretty tame film, which fits the band’s goofy brand of soft metal.

When recording the song “Album of the Year #1 Funkateer,” Bootsy Collins had a very specific vibe in mind. “I wanted to give the people what they wanted back in the Seventies: a sense of hope, joy, and freedom,” he tells Rolling Stone. “For the people that were not there, it’s a first taste of what it felt like back in the day to be a ‘Funkateer,’ to have party people that you can look up to, to get down with, without shame, but rather with a form of freedom,...

My Character Was Killed Off. Is My Career Dead?
Dear Remy,
I always knew my character would be killed off.
When I took on the role of patriarch in a prestige drama series, the production company was very clear that the man I would be playing had an expiry date. I thought nothing of it at the time—reflecting instead on how well the producers communicated. Colleagues of mine have been informed of the death of their characters by reading about it in the sides that script runners brought to their trailers. At least I didn’t discover the person I was playing would meet a grisly end in front of an acne-ridden film school graduate who’s been consistently getting my coffee order wrong.
So it took me by surprise when we filmed my final scenes for the show, and I felt grief. I know it makes no sense.

Tariq and Brayden found themselves broke for a few days and were like...absolutely not.
They got a little taste of the life for many college students and were not about to run themselves ragged for pocket change when they had a skillset equipped to bring in the kind of money most people could only dream of.
Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Episode 2 may have been an hour solely meant to set up the rest of the season, but even a transitional hour in this universe can be entertaining as hell.
Only Tariq could kill a man on campus and just waltz around the place like everything was chill. He was back at Stansfield, attending classes and doing his thing, while one person had the nerve to call him out, and they did so in the least threatening way possible.

Starz is Power-ing down a bit, ending another installment in the long-running crime drama franchise. The upcoming third season of Power Book IV: Force will be its last, TVLine has confirmed.
There is some good news, however — showrunner and executive producer Gary Lennon was given enough notice to craft a proper ending, so while fans may not want the show to end, at least they can take solace in knowing it won’t conclude on a cliffhanger.

Starz’s Power Book IV: Force will conclude following the drama’s third season which is currently in production in Chicago. It’s lights out for Tommy (Joseph Sikora) and the gang but that doesn’t mean their stories are over.
As Deadline reported in March, Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed plans to contain content costs by developing more new shows versus sustaining series longer as they become more expensive. The plan was implemented immediately as Starz announced the next day the development of a new prequel series Origin, following the Ghost (Omari Hardwick in the flagship series) and Tommy during their early years. The new show is similar to Power Book III: Raising Kanan, which centers on Power’s favorite foe, Kanan Stark (played by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson) during his younger years.

With a title like Life After Fighting, you might think this is a documentary about the lives of boxers and Mma competitors once they’ve left the ring for the last time. Instead, it’s a somewhat misnamed action film about Alex Faulkner a former competitive fighter who now runs a dojo. But we know he’s not done with fighting, or rather it’s not done with him, otherwise this would be a damn short movie.
Much of the film’s first half-hour revolves around Alex and his budding romance with Samantha who he meets when she brings her son Terry (Anthony Nassif) in for classes. It also leads to the film’s first fight when her possessive ex, Victor sics his massive buddy Milan on him.

Ghost have released a sneak preview clip of their upcoming feature film Rite Here Rite Now and announced additional cinematic screenings.
The 80-second clip features live footage of the band performing the Impera song “Kaisarion,” giving fans a glimpse of the concert portion of the upcoming film (captured during two sold-out shows at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in 2023).
Ghost don’t reveal much about the plot here, though we do see Papa Emeritus IV dart backstage to observe himself in front of a giant ornate mirror. At this point, Sister Imperator makes an appearance, shooing Papa back onstage to sing the rest of the song. The whole sequence gives off strong “Phantom of the Opera vibes,” as one YouTube commenter aptly put it.

Paul Verhoeven's 1990 film "Total Recall" takes place in the distant future of 2084. Mars has not only been colonized, but it has also fallen under the rule of an evil governor named Vilos Cohaagen (Ronny Cox). The planet is rich with a rare, valuable ore called turbinium, but mining it has caused widespread pollution and radiation. Many of the Martian citizens have mutated as a result, their bodies sprouting extra body parts or sporting unusual growths. In many cases, mutants are also mildly psychic. To combat Cohaagen's corruption, a Mutant Resistance has formed, led by the mysterious and difficult-to-find Kuato (Marshall Bell).
The protagonist of "Total Recall" is Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a former agent for Cohaagen who had his memory erased and his identity changed. It takes a long while for Quaid to understand what happened to him, but he eventually discovers that he has to combat Cohaagen and help the Mutant Resistance.

The thing about big swings and high concept genre television is that when it lands, its smacks you squarely in the stomach. It's how you get all-time greats like the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" episodes "Hush", "The Body" (one of the most gut-wrenching explorations of grief put to screen), and, of course, the musical spectacular "Once More, with Feeling." When it misses, on the other hand, you can end up with "Buffy" stinkers like "Doublemeat Palace" (which is far less captivating than its "Soylent Green"-inspired premise would suggest) and the one-two punch of "Beer Bad" and "Where the Wild Things Are".
When it comes to "Bones," Hart Hanson's agreeable, long-running rom-com crime procedural was constantly testing the waters to determine whether a comedic episode was perhaps a little too silly for a show about nightmarish murder investigations. You can see that in the common denominator shared by the...

In the summer of 1990, screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin became an overnight success with the release of “Ghost,” a romantic thriller that would go on to become the top-grossing film of the year and earn Rubin an Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. At least that’s how it seemed from the outside; the truth is that the 47-year-old filmmaker had been kicking around the industry for decades, working as a TV news editor, film museum curator, and writer-for-hire before “Ghost” (and then “Jacob’s Ladder” a few months later) established him as one of the most original voices in Hollywood cinema.
Rubin tells the story of everything that led up to “Ghost” — and everything that came after — in “It’s Only a Movie,” a book that’s half-show business memoir, half spiritual inquiry detailing his lifelong quest for enlightenment. That quest informs Rubin’s best films — “Brainstorm,” “Jacob’s Ladder,” “Ghost,” “My...

Summertime tends to be a quieter yet exciting period for the average TV viewer, as the broadcast season hiatus leaves room for big streaming and cable offerings to take center stage.
There might be a bit of a decrease in output now that the Emmy submission period is over, but there’s no lack of new and returning shows across broadcast, streaming and cable this summer. While the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris will keep the world’s attention in late july, the return of Amazon’s “The Boys” and HBO’s “House of the Dragon” will surely have fans talking throughout the next few months, while new shows like “Star Wars” spin-off “The Acolyte” on Disney+ and the animated “Terminator Zero” hope to burst into the zeitgeist. Whoopi Goldberg accepted her role in Tony Goldwyn’s Ezra without reading the script. The actors knew each other from co-starring in 1990’s Ghost.
“If he says he’s got something, I don’t care how other people respond to it, I’m there,” Goldberg said of Goldwyn during Tuesday’s episode of The View, where the actor appeared as a guest alongside Bobby Cannavale and Rose Byrne.
Goldberg played Oda Mae Brown, the medium who communicates with Patrick Swayze’s spirit, in Ghost (she won an Oscar for the role). Goldwyn was the antagonist, Carl Bruner, and Goldberg said this week he is a “wonderful partner.”
In Ezra, Goldberg plays the manager of Cannavale’s character, a stand-up comedian struggling to co-parent his autistic son. Byrne, Robert DeNiro, Rainn Wilson and others round out the cast. Goldwyn directed the movie, and also has a small part onscreen. The project...

This past season of hit shows was heavily dominated by the CBS network, with multiple series like Tracker and Elsbeth making headlines across the television airways.
Ghosts is definitely in good company. There are so many great shows to watch back to back, especially with so many series on hiatus now that we're entering the summer months.
Season 3 of this whimsically funny show has come and gone, and viewers are likely already chomping at the bit for the next season—and we don't blame them after that epic cliffhanger in the finale.
What is Ghosts about?
The series revolves around Sam and Jay, a married couple from NYC who learn that Sam's late great-aunt recently passed away. Since Sam is the last living heir, she inherits her aunt's big countryside mansion.
Filled with hope for a new life, the couple moves in to renovate the home into a B&b business.

Even if "Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania" is arguably the lowest point in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and marked the beginning of what seems to be the end of its dominance in pop culture and box office, there is no denying that the first two "Ant-Man" movies are fantastic. They serve important roles in balancing out rather bleak and dense chapters in the Infinity Saga with some light fun that also grounds the universe and shows how regular people live outside of the big world-ending events.
A big part of the fun is Scott Lang's group of friends turned co-workers in his X-Con Security crew, which includes David Dastmalchian's Kurt — who delivers the best bit in either of the two movies. The bit begins when the crew hears about the second film ("Ant-Man and The Wasp")'s villain, Ghost, who has the ability to turn invisible. Kurt wastes...
