Like it or not, network TV series typically live and die by their Nielsen ratings. Since most fans do not live in Nielsen households, the average person's preferences aren't taken into account, and that is frustrating. While we can't change the system, we want to give you an outlet for your opinions, so we invite you to vote for your favorite 2023-24 network TV shows here. Which programs are the best or the worst? If it were up to you, which TV series would be cancelled and renewed?

Pat Sajak isn’t quite done with Wheel of Fortune.
Sajak, who retired from hosting the syndicated game show in June after 41 years, will take one more spin on ABC’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune in the fall. The show is set to premiere Oct. 7 — episodes have not yet been taped, sources say — and will air on Mondays when ABC doesn’t have a Monday Night Football game. (Ryan Seacrest will begin hosting the syndicated Wheel in the fall.)
The news about Sajak and Celebrity Wheel of Fortune was part of ABC’s announcement of its fall premiere schedule. The network will stagger its rollout, with a few shows — Dancing With the Stars, new drama High Potential and The Golden Bachelorette — debuting the week after the Emmys (which ABC will air on Sept. 15), and holding others, including Abbott Elementary, until October.

If you keep an ear to the ground in the world of cult cinema, you’ve likely heard a distinctive rumbling coming from the United States – the unmistakable sound of Hundreds Of Beavers. Because the scrappy and raucous debut feature from filmmakers Mike Cheslik and Ryland Brickson Cole Tews – featuring, yes, hundreds of beavers; or, at least, people in mascot-type beaver costumes – has become a word-of-mouth sensation for its wild slapstick, unpredictable energy, and audience-riling exploits. And now, it’s finally about to make its way to UK cinemas, bringing Beaver fever across the pond. Get ready for a film that Cheslik and Tews pitched as “‘The Revenant but funny’.”
Tews stars as drunken 18th-century applejack salesman Jean Kayak, who – after a run-in with a bunch of belligerent beavers – takes up fur-trapping, and must collect “hundreds of beavers” to win the hand of a merchant’s daughter. That basic plot...

Former Dancing With the Stars host Tom Bergeron recently revealed what he’s missed the most since leaving the show.
Bergeron famously hosted the dance competition show for its first 28 seasons, with various celebrities winning.
During that time, Bergeron saw several changes to his co-host with Lisa Canning, Samantha Harris, Brooke Burke, and Erin Andrews in the role for various seasons.
Model and television star Tyra Banks replaced him as host for Season 29 and remained there for three seasons before leaving the show.
Since then, it has been in the hands of Alfonso Ribeiro and dancer Julianne Hough as the host and co-host, respectively.
While Bergeron doesn’t seem to miss Dancing With the Stars much, he mentioned missing some aspects.

Since 2008, the TV academy has honored the work of reality and competition series presenters with the Emmy Award for Best Reality/Competition Host. During this year’s first-round nominations voting period, academy members from eight branches must choose from 48 entrants, which is down from 2023’s total of 67 and keeps the number of available nomination slots at five.
Included on the 2024 ballot is reigning victor RuPaul Charles, who has prevailed on all eight of his consecutive bids for “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Also seeking another win is Jeff Probst (“Survivor”), who dominated the category from 2008 to 2011 but has not been nominated since.
The peer groups allowed to vote for nominations in this category are casting directors, daytime programming, performers, producers, production executives, professional representatives, reality, and television executives. These voters have until June 24 to choose from the options listed below, and the lineup will be announced on July 17.

Alfonso Ribeiro’s recent remarks created speculation that he and Tyler Perry aren’t on good terms.
Rumors emerged after the Dancing With the Stars and America’s Funniest Home Videos host recently discussed his most iconic role.
He said it also led to him not acting due to being continually associated with that character.
Ribeiro memorably appeared on NBC’s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Belair for six years as Will Smith’s fictional cousin, Carlton Banks.
Carlton became known for his preppy style, humor, and trademark dance, known as “the Carlton.”
Despite the widespread fame it brought, the TV show host and actor recently called the role the “greatest and worst thing that ever happened” to him.

Alfonso Ribeiro is not looking for any favors for anyone, especially from Tyler Perry. The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is doing just fine as the host of Dancing With the Stars and made that clear in a recent viral tweet.
On Tuesday, May 28, Alfonso Ribeiro shot back at a social media user on X who suggested that actor/director Tyler Perry could “revamp” Ribeiro’s career. Ribeiro said, “I don’t need or ever want that man to do anything for me.”
Tyler Perry and Alfonso Ribeiro do share a professional history. Alfonso Ribeiro directed 12 episodes of the Perry-created sitcom “Meet the Browns” in 2009 and 2010, so it is unclear why he seemingly shaded “The Big Momma House” star in the viral tweet.

Alfonso Ribeiro is a star because of his role in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He played Carlton, the yuppie who made a cringeworthy dance trend famous. However, while he knows he owes everything to Carlton, Ribeiro also said the role ruined his acting career.
here is what Alfonso Ribeiro said about his mixed feelings about playing Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Alfonso Ribeiro Says Carlton Was The Worst Thing That Happened To Him
Alfonso Ribeiro starred as Carlton Banks on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air for its entire run. That was six seasons and 148 episodes. The show made Will Smith a star and helped catapult him into a hugely successful movie career. However, for Alfonso, his career went in the other direction thanks to that popular sitcom role.
In an interview with Closer Weekly, Ribeiro said his role as Carlton was the greatest thing that ever happened to him.

In a new interview with Closer Weekly, Alfonso Ribeiro said his iconic role in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air as Carlton Banks was a “sacrifice” for his acting career.
“Playing Carlton on ‘Fresh Prince’ became a sacrifice. I used to always say doing Carlton was the greatest and worst thing that ever happened to me,” Ribeiro said.
“It was one of the greatest roles that I ever was fortunate enough to play. But it was also the role that stopped me from acting again because people couldn’t see me as anything else. The sacrifice was not having an acting career anymore.”
Despite that downer of a sentiment, Ribeiro does have favorite memories from filming.

ABC recently unveiled its 2024-2025 primetime schedule, which sees the network airing just five scripted series, including new dramas “High Potential” and “Doctor Odyssey.” “Grey’s Anatomy” will shift one hour to the 10:00 p.m. slot on Thursdays while the network will mark the return of “The Wonderful World of Disney” to its schedule.
ABC
“Dancing with the Stars” will be moving to Tuesday nights so that the network can air consistent programming that won’t be interrupted by “Monday Night Football” broadcasts scheduled for select Mondays. Said Monday night programming options will be announced at a later date.
Following “Dancing with the Stars” will be “High Potential,” written by Oscar-nominated Drew Goddard and based on the popular French series. The crime procedural stars Kaitlin Olson as Morgan, a single mom with an exceptional mind whose unconventional knack for solving crimes leads to an unusual and unstoppable partnership with a by-the-book seasoned detective.

Alfonso Ribeiro is going to keep on bringing the funny into the homes of Americans across the country. The America’s Funniest Home Videos host, now in his ninth season, will close out the longest-running primetime entertainment program’s 34th season on May 19. “We have our grand prize finale, which is a fun episode because we take the top two biggest money winners of the season, and they go up against each other to see which is the best video of the year,” Ribeiro told TV Insider during a recent visit to TV Insider’s studio. The show has already been renewed for Season 35, which will mark Ribeiro’s tenth season as host. “It’s such an honor, first, to be a part of that legacy. To be ABC’s longest-running primetime show is an honor. Thirty-five years this show will have been on after we get into next season is a really long time.

Well, if you had tried to get us to guess the ABC 2024-25 fall season announcement, we couldn’t have predicted much of it.
There are new shows sprinkled throughout, but ABC is going almost full reality, which is a choice.
Let’s see what we’ve got to work with here.
Two new shows will interest TV Fanatics: High Potential, starring Kaitlin Olson, which was delayed due to the strikes, and Doctor Odyssey, starring Joshua Jackson as a cruise ship doctor.
High Potential gets a 10/9c slot on Tuesdays after Dancing with the Stars.
Despite the relationship disaster of The Golden Bachelor, ABC is dedicating an hour and a half weekly to The Golden Bachelorette while snuggling award-winning comedy Abbott Elementary between that and a docuseries called Scamanda.
Thursdays find Doctor Odyssey after 9-1-1 and before Grey’s Anatomy.
And TV Fanatic favorites The Rookie and Will Trent? Saved for midseason.

ABC will once again have Abbott Elementary as a centerpiece of its Wednesday night in 2024-25 — but it will begin the season without any companion comedies.
The Emmy-winning series will move back a half-hour to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, with The Golden Bachelorette (which will run 90 minutes each week, up from an hour for The Golden Bachelor last fall) as its lead-in. The rest of ABC’s comedy offerings for 2024-25 — including the final season of The Conners — will come in the second half of the season.
“We continue to be very dedicated to comedy. I think you’ll see that really come through in midseason,” Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview Tuesday, a few hours before Disney’s upfront presentation. “Because of the strikes [in 2023], there was a pause in some of our development plans. ABC is doubling down with Ryan Murphy on Thursday nights. The Alphabet network revealed a fall 2024 schedule on Tuesday that features the Murphy’s “9-1-1” and newcomer “Doctor Odyssey” on Thursday nights.
The move now turns the night — long the home for Shonda Rhimes’ hit “Tgit” franchises, into a bit of a “Tgim” — “Thank God It’s Murphy” — and shifts “Grey’s Anatomy” to 10 p.m.
Also, the network revealed that it is going with an “Abbott Elementary” island on Wednesdays, sandwiched between a 90-minute format for “The Golden Bachelorette” and then the unexpected, previously unannounced true crime ABC News docuseries “Scamanda.”
But don’t fret for “Abbott,” says Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich. He tells Variety that after the success of “The Golden Bachelor” in the fall, lead-in from “The Golden Bachelorette” will “position it to continue to garner both audience as well as the critical claim that it so deserves.

ABC will also be airing Celebrity Family Feud, Let’s Make a Deal, Claim to Fame, and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? this summer.

ABC is bringing back a big chunk of its unscripted shows for the 2024-25 TV season.
The network has renewed seven series — American Idol, The Bachelor, Celebrity Jeopardy!, Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, Dancing With the Stars, Shark Tank and the ABC News-produced What Would You Do? — for next season. They join The Golden Bachelorette, a spinoff of last fall’s breakout The Golden Bachelor, on the 2024-25 slate. (The Bachelorette is also set for its usual summer run.)
Notably missing from the list of pickups is America’s Funniest Home Videos, ABC’s longest-running entertainment series. A decision hasn’t been made yet on a possible 35th season for the show.
American Idol will air its eighth season on ABC (and 23rd overall) in 2024-25, although it will do so without judge Katy Perry, who is leaving at the end of the current season. Dancing With the Stars (season 33), The Bachelor...

In October 2018 while sharing beers in a frigid Milwaukee bar with his soon-to-be leading man Ryland Tews, director, visual effects artist and editor of “Hundreds of Beavers” Mike Cheslik conceived the film based on three simple elements: his After Effects skills, familiarity with snow and Tews’ uncanny ability to fall over.
“We knew that the image of a guy in a mascot costume falling down was fundamentally funny,” Cheslik explains. “And if that is in every shot, even if our gags aren’t working well, we have the fundamental comedy of mascot animal. Is that right, Ryland?”
“Absolutely,” Tews says in response. “We just wanted to make a movie that looked like nothing else.”
