Shooting continued on Superman this weekend and things aren't looking good for the Man of Tomorrow in Metropolis' LordTech Field.
The Engineer and Ultraman circle the downed hero who is clearly struggling to get to his feet. After a brief conversation where Superman seemingly addresses them both, the Kryptonian takes flight, likely fleeing the battle to regroup.
While it's strange to see Superman leave a fight like this, he may have no other choice. However, seeing as The Engineer can clearly go toe-to-toe with Supes, it appears he doesn't have the same God-like powers as Henry Cavill's version.

Work has resumed on Superman in Cleveland's Progressive Field Metropolis' LordTech Field, and David Corenswet's Man of Tomorrow has been spotted taking flight.
As you'll see below, he's spinning through the air during what looks like an exciting battle with Ultraman and The Engineer. While the latter briefly overpowers him (suggesting she's even more powerful than her comic book counterpart), an angry Supes soon takes the fight to the villains.
All signs still point to Ultraman being considerably stronger than the Kryptonian, likely explaining the name. Little is known about this version of the character, though we anticipate him being a clone rather than a Multiversal doppelganger.
The fact he's wearing a mask suggests that reveal will be saved for later in the movie, though we're keeping everything crossed that when Superman does unmask Ultraman, the face staring back at him is both his own and the Dcu's take on Bizarro.

Earlier today, we got a first look at the cast of Superman assembling at Metropolis' Lordtech Field. The baseball stadium will be home to an epic battle between the movie's heroes and villains and, in these latest videos, we see more of that clash.
Superman and Ultraman are shown exchanging punches likely after the Man of Steel drags the mystery baddie across the ground, though all signs point to the hero being no match for a character many believe is his clone.
As you may recall, rumours have swirled about Lex Luthor making his own Superman in the form of "Ultraman," with the expectation being that the clone will eventually be unmasked as a twisted new take on Bizarro (a character James Gunn can have fun with).
In a second video, The Engineer fights Mister Terrific, flying through the air with the tech genius before planting him onto the field below.

Rumours have been swirling for the past day or so that Marvel Studios might release the first trailer for Captain America: Brave New World today. Unfortunately, their usual trailer release time has been and gone, so we're hoping it's on the way this evening.
In the meantime, we can put the spotlight on another great American icon! With just one year to go before DC Studios releases Superman in theaters, James Gunn has shared the official logo for the Dcu's Man of Steel.
We've seen this on the hero's chest both in an official photo and countless set photos, of course, but the hi-res shot offers our clearest look at the eye-catching Kingdom Come-inspired design yet. It's also quite the departure from what we've seen in the past.
That was perhaps inevitable, especially when Gunn and his DC Studios co-ceo Peter Safran decided to replace Henry Cavill as Superman.

The Man of Steel was back on the set of Superman yesterday, albeit a little worse for wear than normal. An unknown foe had seemingly punched the hero at least a few feet into the ground, with Metropolis' citizens rallying around the hero to help him up.
Now, we have some closer shots of the battle-damaged Supes courtesy of Cleveland.com. Based on these and other photos from the reboot's Cleveland set, it appears the Man of Steel will spend a fair bit of this movie with a dirtied, battered costume.
While Lex Luthor is Superman's main villain, we don't necessarily expect him to get physical with the Kryptonian unless James Gunn plans to finally bring his battle suit to the big screen.
Instead, it seems far more likely that the mysterious "Ultraman" will pose the biggest threat to Superman and is probably the one who sent him crashing down to the city streets.

Over the past couple of days, Superman has moved production to Cleveland's Detroit-Superior Bridge with James Gunn directing extras and stunt performers as they flee from Metropolis (resulting in cars colliding).
Next up is Progressive Field which, based on what we've heard from the set, is being transformed into "LordTech Field."
Yesterday afternoon, stuntmen were spotted rehearsing a scene which appears to show Superman battling an unknown foe in the air before dragging them face-first across the baseball stadium's ground.
Not only is it impressive that this sequence is being shot practically, but it dismisses the complaints from those who feel Gunn is making Superman too soft by embracing the comics. Yes, that's a legitimate complaint on social media!
The actors are expected to report to Progressive Field LordTech Field soon, and we'd bet on the Man of Steel delivering a beatdown to the mysterious masked brute believed to be the Dcu's Ultraman or Bizarro.

As shooting resumes on Superman in Cleveland, Ohio, a stuntman has been injured while filming a high-speed chase sequence on the Detroit-Superior Bridge yesterday.
Cleveland.com broke the news that a stuntman was driving a motorcycle when, "He took a spill, clutching his knee as he hit the ground. The camera crew stopped filming as he was placed on a stretcher and put into an ambulance."
While it thankfully doesn't appear to be anything life-threatening, the site confirms that "The stuntman received treatment for several minutes before the ambulance left the scene with him inside."
His current condition is unknown and there's no word on who he was doubling for; given that he was dressed in black, it's possible he's meant to be Rick Flag Sr. or another of the A.R.G.U.S. agents spotted on set recently.
As for what was being shot, it's said, "The stuntman rehearsed the scene several times without incident.

Superman has resumed shooting after taking a hiatus over the long weekend, and while the cast isn't on hand (at least not yet), filmmaker James Gunn has been spotted directing a huge group of terrified extras.
They're running from...something...as pedestrians and motorists flee Metropolis. Could it have something to do with whatever that weird orb was floating in the sky in our first look at David Corenswet suited up as the Dcu's Man of Steel?
We'll almost certainly have to wait and see, but a map of Metropolis - the "City of Tomorrow" - has been spotted that's packed full of Easter Eggs for DC Comics fans.
Someone we know will likely appreciate this is Hawkgirl actress Isabela Merced. In a recent interview, she said, "Honestly, inside I'm just a nerdy guy. I feel like that’s who I actually am. I'm geeking out every time I try on the supersuit!

Are we on the cusp of witnessing a paradigm shift in superhero cinema, where the line between vigilantes & vendors becomes as thin as a page from a comic book? The latest Superman set leaks prove that James Gun’s vision for the DC Universe is not just a flash in the pan but mirrors Eric Kripke’s The Boys universe in one critical aspect—the corporate chokehold.
Superman | DC comics
As David Corenswet dons the iconic cape, principal photography is almost in the can for this highly anticipated flick, anchoring the very bedrock of Dcu Chapter 1, Gods and Monsters. But wait, there’s more than just a hook here; Gunn’s narrative prowess and Corenswet’s portrayal are rumored to be promising a refreshing reverse of ‘Kingdom Come’.
Thus, fans are poised to taste a Superman story that refuses to be caged by the bigwigs’ playbook.

The Batman was released in 2022 to positive reviews and a $772 million box office haul, making it one of the most successful DC movies in recent memory.
Warner Bros. wasted no time in green-lighting a sequel, while a small screen spin-off - The Penguin - will premiere on Max this September. However, like The Batman, that will take place in Matt Reeves' standalone "Bat-Verse" instead of the Dceu or DC Studios' Dcu.
That means James Gunn will have to cast a new Caped Crusader for The Brave and the Bold, a prospect which hasn't exactly thrilled a lot of fans. The perfect solution would be to add Robert Pattinson's Batman to the Dcu, but it's hard to imagine Reeves or the actor being keen on the idea.
While we don't expect it to happen, a phenomenal piece of fan art offers an idea of what it might look like for...

James Gunn’s Superman movie is currently shooting in Cleveland, and over the last week, we’ve seen plenty of photos emerging from the set. One such photo has revealed a very special cameo which honours Christopher Reeve, who played Superman in four movies.
Will Reeve, Christopher’s youngest son, will make a cameo in Superman. He’s said to be playing a TV reporter in the film, which shouldn’t be too much of a stretch as he works as an ABC News correspondent.
Will, along with his older siblings Matthew and Alexandra, was also featured in the Super/Man documentary, which celebrates his father’s life and disability activism following the horse-riding accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. “The majority of my memories of my dad involve him after the accident because I was not yet three years old when he was injured,” Will told...

Work has resumed on Superman in Cleveland (we're going to miss these daily updates when the production inevitably moves elsewhere) and the Man of Steel is back in action!
This time, David Corenswet's iconic DC Comics superhero is shown taking flight to try and save a falling civilian. That is indeed the actor performing his own stunts for the scene and, in contrast to other recent photos, it appears Superman's suit is a lot more beaten up here.
In fact, it looks as dirty as the version seen in James Gunn's divisive first-look photo, suggesting this sequence takes place later in the film when Metropolis comes under attack.

If you need further convincing that David Corenswet is the Man of Tomorrow after the past week or so of set photos, look no further than these latest snaps from the set of Superman.
Production continues in Cleveland, Ohio, and the iconic DC Comics superhero has now been spotted taking flight. As you might expect, Corenswet's Kal-El kneeled to the ground before leaping up, up and away (with special effects no doubt set to show him taking off after he jumped into the air).
The actor certainly looks the part and this is an iconic piece of Superman imagery which should look incredible on screen.
We're hearing rumblings that Hawkgirl and Supergirl could be next to be seen on set, so the reveals might not end here. In the meantime, though, this is a fantastic sight to behold and we'll hopefully get some footage to go with the photos in due course.

Work has resumed on Superman today and David Corenswet has just been spotted suited up as the Man of Steel holding some sort of falling debris.
It's hard to identify exactly what he's holding, though it's likely it will be swapped out in post-production, anyway! In the full gallery of photos posted by Cleveland.com, shocked onlookers watch on and Superman is approached by a dog.
Unfortunately, it doesn't appear to be Krypto and is likely just a fun moment which sees the adorable pooch walk up to Metropolis' protector as he looks to stop nearby citizens from getting hurt.
This is the Superman many fans have been waiting to see on screen and between this and the newspaper headlines spotted on set, it's fair to say this version of the character is a very proactive superhero.
"I completely relate to Superman because he’s everything I am," filmmaker James Gunn previously said.

Work on Superman continues in Cleveland, though how much more we'll see from the reboot's set is tough to predict. A new video recaps some of what we've missed, including a glimpse of Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner!
It appears The Suicide Squad star was shooting scenes inside and, when he exited the building, Fillion was covered from head-to-toe in a cloak which, unfortunately, hides his costume. As a result, we've missed out on getting a first look at the Dcu's first Green Lantern...for now, at least.
You can watch the full video in the player below.

Superman set photos have been coming in thick and fast this week, and if we're lucky, another round will hit later today. Yesterday was all about Mister Terrific, though, with Edi Gathegi's genius superhero seemingly interacting with Krypto before being lasered in the foot.
Now, upon closer inspection, we see that Mister Terrific is sporting the Lordtech logo on his chest. We know that belongs to the company owned by Maxwell Lord because it was previously spotted in a Metropolis store window.
Why is this important? Well, not only does it suggest that Mister Terrific is working for Lord at this stage in his superhero career but it may also confirm previous rumours about the Justice League International factoring into Superman.
In the comics, Lord was introduced as a businessman who established his own superhero team, the Jli. He financed the operation but was secretly up to no good,...

As upset as many fans were to see Henry Cavill's time as the Man of Steel reach its end, it's been clear for a while now that the world wants a more optimistic, less brooding version of the character on screen.
All signs point to us getting exactly that in DC Studios' Superman, something that's evident from a newly discovered Easter Egg.
Copies of The Daily Planet spotted on set have already teased the Krytonian's heroic deeds, but we now see that just like his comic book counterpart in All-Star Superman, this Kal-El similarly flew a group of young cancer patients to see the Egyptian Pyramids.
This is exactly what Superman fans have been waiting to see from the hero; whether any of these good deeds which extend beyond saving the world or Metropolis make it into the movie itself remains to be seen.

This is exactly what Superman fans have been waiting to see from the hero; whether any of these good deeds which extend beyond saving the world or Metropolis make it into the movie itself remains to be seen.

Production on Superman in Cleveland has continued this week and the reveals have been coming in thick and fast. We appreciate it's hard to keep up, particularly as those have ranged from being as minor as a first look at The Daily Planet staff to a shot of the movie's mystery villain!
With that in mind, we've combed through all the photos and footage - most of which we've covered here, but some which passed even us by - to bring you another breakdown of reveals and spoilers from set.
From a clash between David Corenswet's Man of Tomorrow and some unexpected foes to James Gunn's plans to making a truly connected Dcu, there's a lot to delve into here. Oh, and if you missed it earlier this week, you can find our previous breakdown here.

This week, we've been treated to a first look at many of Superman's lead characters. However, the only two superheroes on hand have been the Man of Steel himself and Mister Terrific.
Now, a new set video has surfaced on social media showing the dynamic duo on a Metropolis rooftop. What's weird about this one, though, is the fact Terrific is wearing some sort of flying rig.
Actor Edi Gathegi is lifted into the air and Superman snaps off a salute to his fellow hero before he makes an unsteady landing. It's a pretty cumbersome-looking contraption, though it could be that it's meant to be a battle suit of some sort.
We're expecting shooting to continue in Cleveland today, so it's possible we'll see more of this and other Superman cast members. Even if the big reveals are starting to wind down, we've seen enough at this stage to build...

Superman Set Video Reveals New Look At [Spoiler] Taking Down The Man Of Steel And Surprise Dcu Cameo

We'd thought the biggest reveal from Superman yesterday would be a first look at David Corenswet as Clark Kent. However, as cameras continued rolling into the afternoon, we caught a glimpse of Ultraman and The Engineer alongside Creature Commandos and Peacemaker season 2's Rick Flag Sr.
Now, a set video has surfaced which shows Ultraman pinning the Man of Steel to the ground, binding his hands, and then lifting him to his feet as The Engineer, Flag Sr., and military watch on.
We then watch as Ultraman walks Superman down the street while Metropolis' greatest superhero talks to Flag Sr. We'd imagine A.R.G.U.S. is somehow involved and Ultraman's presence is bound to be a big talking point in the coming months.
Rumour has it Lex Luthor creates a Superman clone using the hero's DNA but this guy is even larger than the 6'4" Corenswet. How much...

We thought a first look at Cat Grant was going to be it for Superman set photos today. Instead, it seems nearby photographers were saving the best for last as we now have a shot of David Corenswet as Clark Kent!
Typically, the Man of Steel disguises himself with a pair of glasses and a slight change in hairstyle; in Christopher Reeve's case, his smartly combed hair was replaced with the now-iconic "Superman curl."
Filmmaker James Gunn appears to have taken inspiration from Superman: The Movie, albeit on a somewhat more extreme level. As you'll see below, the Dcu's Clark has a messy mop of curly hair to better disguise himself. With it covering most of his forehead, we can now better believe that his colleagues at The Daily Bugle wouldn't recognise him as Superman.
This isn't necessarily what we expected but it suggests Corenswet will completely change his physicality as Clark Kent,...

Superman has mostly been shooting behind closed doors today. While there are some very blurry shots of the Man of Steel and Lois Lane from afar floating around on X, we have something far more exciting to share with you.
Mikaela Hoover, who played Nova Prime's Assistant/Floor the Rabbit in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies and Camila in The Suicide Squad, was recently cast as the Dcu's Cat Grant. Now, she's been spotted on set emerging from that same mysterious ship and looks pitch-perfect as The Daily Planet reporter.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the character, she first appeared in Adventures of Superman #424 in 1987. Created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway, she was initially introduced as a gossip columnist for the newspaper.
Cat's character has evolved significantly since with the character portrayed as a single mother dealing with personal and professional challenges, including the tragic death of her son,...

We're hearing that the Cleveland street transformed into Metropolis for Superman has now been cleaned up and returned to normal. However, work continues in the city, albeit behind closed doors...for now, at least!
Yes, what we'd hoped would be a week's worth of set photos may end up being what we saw yesterday.
On the plus side, Sara Sampaio has just been spotted arriving at Superman's set in costume as Eve Teschmacher. She's typically Lex Luthor's assistant and occasional love interest and, seeing as Nicholas Hoult is also in Cleveland, we're guessing they'll be filming scenes together today.
Back to The Daily Planet, though, and we now have a first look at Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard. Like Jimmy Olsen (Skyler Gisondo), Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), and Perry White (Wendell Pierce), it appears he'll also emerge from Mister Terrific's ship.

It appears work has resumed on Superman today as we have a first clear look at Skyler Gisondo (The Righteous Gemstones) as the Dcu's Jimmy Olsen.
He doesn't have his trusty camera in hand (at least not as far as we can tell) but is taking in the devastation that's rained down on Metropolis.
Zack Snyder decided against adding Jimmy to the cast of Man of Steel and later addressed the character's absence in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Controversially, the filmmaker made Clark Kent's best pal a CIA agent who was shot in the head after a minute or so of screentime.
Gisondo looks the part of Jimmy, anyway, and we're optimistic that this reboot will properly explore his friendship with Clark and Superman.

It's been an exciting day for DC fans as we've finally seen Superman star David Corenswet suited up as the Dcu's Man of Tomorrow.
A great deal of work has been put into transforming Cleveland into Metropolis and we'd imagine the plan is to shoot there for most of this week. As a result, we can surely look forward to many more set photos in the days ahead (and perhaps even later today).
There's already speculation that Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane is present and it appears Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor will be getting in on the action as well.
While he doesn't appear to be in costume (at least not yet), here's your first look at the actor arriving on the set of Superman:

James Gunn’s Superman movie is currently shooting in Cleveland and photos from the set have started to pop up. To note, these are unofficial images, and while some may start to pick apart the way the super suit looks in action until we see how it really looks with CGI included, we really haven’t gotten a true glimpse of the character other than the official still from a few weeks back. You can also see what looks like Edi Gathegi’s Mister Terrific in the images.

We've been waiting on these all day, but the first photos of David Corenswet suited up as the Dcu's Man of Tomorrow in Superman have finally been revealed!
An official photo of the actor in costume drew a mixed response from fans; however, we see here that it's far more colourful than that shot let on and very much what you'd expect from a "classic" take on this iconic superhero.
It does look a little loose on Corenswet if we're being hyper-critical, though that's likely because he was filming action scenes. It's also pretty common for actors to wear roomier suits on set (Chris Evans did all the time as Captain America), with VFX typically used during post-production to tidy them up a little.
Of course, the biggest talking point here will be the trunks. That first photo confirmed Superman will have them and they're now revealed in all their glory.

Over the past week or so, Cleveland has been transformed into the Dcu's Metropolis for Superman. Now, DC Studios boss and filmmaker James Gunn has arrived on set to begin shooting.
David Corenswet has been spotted as the new Man of Steel, though he's mostly covered up in a cloak (meaning we get to see Superman's collar and little else). He certainly looks the part of the hero, anyway, and should be revealed in all his red and blue glory soon enough.
The military and police have also arrived in Metropolis, seemingly in response to whatever will emerge from that massive spaceship that's landed near The Daily Planet.
People dressed all in black have been spotted with their hands zip-tied behind their backs, while we can see that there's a fair bit of destruction on the city streets. We're assuming they're hostages and, on closer inspection, there are a couple...

Yesterday, we shared more photos from the set of Superman showing a ship of some sort with stairs descending from a doorway. With the idea clearly being to create all but those steps with VFX, we were left in the dark when it came to who might be piloting the thing.
Well, another round of set photos showing the interior prior to its construction have seemingly confirmed that it belongs to Mister Terrific!
Not only does this explain the ship's relatively small size, but it means the Justice League International member will likely arrive at The Daily Planet to help fend off whoever might be attacking Metropolis. We'd bet on him being joined by the movie's other heroes as well.
It's also possible this is a separate ship; until we see more from set, we can't be certain.
Cameras are expected to begin rolling tomorrow, meaning we should get to see them in action.

The transformation of Cleveland into Metropolis for Superman appears to be complete, with an entire street now featuring stores and bars boasting various nods to the wider DC Universe.
We've also caught sight of newspapers with David Coresnwet's Man of Steel doing his thing as the city's protector. In recent days, debris has slowly been added to the street and we're hearing that cameras will start rolling on Monday (meaning we're likely to get a first look at Superman and the cast in action next week).
Surprisingly, we may even get to see the reboot's big bad.
While Nicholas Hoult will play Lex Luthor, it's still unclear whether he'll don a Power Suit to go toe-to-toe with the Kryptonian. The first teaser image for the movie featured a bizarre alien globe in the background many fans believe could be Warworld, the ship which belongs to Mongul.

While we wait with bated breath to see whether the paparazzi can snap some photos of the Superman cast on the reboot's Cleveland/Metropolis set, another interesting DC Comics Easter Egg has just been spotted.
In the window of Quitely & Sons Electronics (which itself is a nod to All-Star Superman artist Frank Quitely), we see that they stock "Lordtech."
This has to be a nod to the company run by Maxwell Lord in the Dcu; it appears he'll specialise in tech, and it wouldn't be overly surprising for Lordtech computers and cell phones to be featured in place of a real-life brand like Apple.
Of course, there's likely to be more to Maxwell than that as he'll be portrayed by The Suicide Squad star Sean Gunn. While he's already lending his voice to G.I. Robot and Weasel in Creature Commandos, Gunn's take on the Wonder Woman 1984 villain (where...

This has to be a nod to the company run by Maxwell Lord in the Dcu; it appears he'll specialise in tech, and it wouldn't be overly surprising for Lordtech computers and cell phones to be featured in place of a real-life brand like Apple.

Work to transform Cleveland into Metropolis is ongoing, and while we've already caught sight of the Dcu's Daily Planet, the newspaper's iconic globe has now arrived on Superman's set!
It's been shown on banners, of course, but the physical prop...well, it's an absolute beauty.
The globe will seemingly hang above the entrance to the Planet's headquarters; Clark Kent will work there in the movie, with Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Cat Grant, Steve Lombard, Ron Troupe, and Editor-in-Chief Perry White joining him.
We'd say it's likely some or even all of those characters will soon make their presence felt, though it's possible we won't get to see them if the set is heavily protected. So far, we've only caught a glimpse of Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer and that was several months ago; with that in mind, it may be wise not to get your hopes up for any big reveals.

All eyes have been on James Gunn’s upcoming DC Universe debut with Superman. The film has been in production for a number of weeks, and casting news continues to pour in. Most notably, it is getting revealed who will join Clark Kent, Lois Lane, Jimmy Olson and Perry White in the newsroom. It was recently reported that Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald have joined the cast of Superman as Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, respectively. Cat Grant is a gossip columnist who was introduced as a potential love interest for Clark Kent, while Ron Troupe is regarded as one of the Daily Planet’s best reporters.

Cleveland is currently being transformed into the Dcu's Metropolis for Superman and, with The Daily Planet building spotted, we're hoping future set photos will finally show the movie's cast in action.
While we're expecting to see characters like Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen, it's always possible that the Man of Tomorrow could take flight. Either way, fans have shared even more photos from the city and they include some major Easter Eggs.
For starters, we see that The Daily Planet's logo will be comic-accurate. As many fans have pointed out on social media, this is a big improvement over the generic office building featured in the Dceu.
An even bigger talking point is a bar named "The Wounded Duck." In the comics, the Earth-2 version of Tim Drake opened an establishment with the same name, leaving many fans convinced his Robin must be part of the Dcu.

Like many DC Comics characters, a few different heroes have held the "Hawkgirl" mantle since the character was created in 1940.
The first was Shiera Sanders Hall, with Shayera Hol and Kendra Saunders following. Later, it was established that Shiera was Kendra's ancestor; as for Shayera, she's a separate character who ultimately became Hawkwoman.
We'd expected Superman's Hawkgirl - where she'll be played by Madame Web and The Last of Us star Isabela Merced - to be Kendra, and that's now been confirmed by DC Studios boss and filmmaker James Gunn.
"Today is the anniversary of Kendra Saunders' first appearance as [Hawkgirl]!" he said on Instagram yesterday. "While Kendra took flight in Jsa Secret Files #1 in 1999 under writers James Robinson and David S. Goyer and artists Louis Small Jr. and Michael Bair, Hawkgirl first hit stands in 1940 as Shiera Sanders-Hall in Flash Comics #1 written by Gardner Fox and drawn by Dennis Neville.

James Gunn has once again taken time off from shooting Superman and Peacemaker season 2 (and running DC Studios) to answer questions from fans about the Dcu.
The filmmaker started by talking more about his approach to building this new shared world, making it clear that fans will be able to leap in and out of the Dcu as they choose. We've seen Marvel Studios' rivals try and take a similar approach to the one Gunn describes below - including the Dceu - so watch this space.
He also confirmed DC Studios hasn't cast the new Batman yet and clarified previous comments about there being an age difference between the Dcu's Superman and Dark Knight.
"I’m pretty sure I didn’t say that. What I said was Bruce 'could be' a couple years older than Clark," Gunn explained. "All I meant was I wasn’t tied to Bruce and Clark being the exact same age.

Work continues on James Gunn's Superman reboot and a new photo from the movie's set has caught the interest of fans. As you'll see below, the "LuthorCorp" logo is emblazoned on militaristic vehicles, suggesting there will be a link between them and Lex in this movie.
We've already seen what appeared to be a makeshift military base, and the comics have also occasionally gone down this route. The question now is, does Lex work alongside the military or is this LuthorCorp more weapons-based than what we may be used to seeing on the page?
Either way, it seems likely that the villain is going to be targeting Superman with all manner of weapons...including a certain power suit if we're really lucky (it's about time that join Lex on the big screen).
Rumour has it he creates a Superman clone - likely a new take on Bizarro/Ultraman - and if that's true,...

As James Gunn steers the helm of the new DC Universe, we’re all on the edge of our seats with anticipation. While our screens won’t light up with David Corenswet’s portrayal of the Man of Steel until 2025, the film is nearing the final stages of filming, with a wrap said to be scheduled for July.
But what does it mean for fans as some begin to voice their concerns over the latest detail about Superman? The Daily Planet, an iconic cornerstone of the Superman mythos, is back in the spotlight with a fresh look for Gunn’s Chapter 1, ‘Gods and Monsters’, set to initiate a grand vision for DC Studios.

As work continues on DC Studios' Superman reboot, filmmaker James Gunn has shared another behind-the-scenes photo featuring the movie's cast...and a couple of friends.
In his Threads post, we see Mikaela Hoover (Cat Grant), Christopher McDonald (Ron Troupe), Wendell Pierce (Perry White), and Pruitt Taylor Vince (Pa Kent), along with some unnamed producers and Guardians of the Galaxy star Michael Rooker.
Gunn insists that his old pal only stopped by for a visit, though it was rumoured a while back that he's been cast as Lois Lane's father, General Sam Lane. While we don't necessarily expect Rooker to appear in Superman, it's not outside the realm of possibility despite Gunn's claims to the contrary.
The Superman writer and director also recently answered a fan question on Facebook about whether Jonathan Kent will be alive in the movie, bluntly responding with, "Well, I don't think I'd hire Pruitt to...

Cameras are still rolling on James Gunn's Superman reboot and even though the filmmaker has said he'll miss Comic-Con, we're hoping something from the movie will be shared in Hall H.
A teaser trailer is possible, if somewhat unlikely, but DC Studios could do with winning sceptical fans over after sharing that divisive first shot of David Corenswet suited up as the Man of Tomorrow.
In the meantime, the clapperboard/slate from Superman has been revealed and it puts that eye-catching new logo front and centre. Inspired by Kingdom Come and some of the hero's earliest comic book adventures, it makes for a striking piece of imagery.
While this logo was used in The CW's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover when Brandon Routh donned it to play an older version of Superman Returns' Clark Kent, those DC TV shows weren't exactly mainstream. As a result, many moviegoers who aren't...

Aside from a few blurry shots of Gabriela de Faría's Engineer, we've yet to see any noteworthy photos from the set of Superman. On the few occasions the movie has been shot in the open, the set has been surrounded by barricades to hide what's happening from fans and photographers.
In many ways, we can't complain about that because it maintains the element of surprise. Still, it's frustrating to not get any sneak peeks as those more often than not build excitement for movies like this one.
Regardless, some new snaps have surfaced today and while there are no cast members on hand, we do get to see the updated LuthorCorp logo. This looks like a makeshift military base, though it's unclear whether Lex Luthor has anything to do with what's happening here.
Interestingly, later comic books have rebranded LuthorCop as LexCorp (a decision filmmaker James Gunn doesn't may not...

It seems we’ll be seeing a lot of the Daily Planet in James Gunn’s Superman, as the director has assembled quite the cast of characters to fill the ranks of the newspaper. THR reports that Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald have joined the cast of Superman as Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, respectively.
Cat Grant is a gossip columnist who was introduced as a potential love interest for Clark Kent. The character was created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway and has made the leap to live-action several times before, notably by Tracy Scoggins in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and by Calista Flockhart in Supergirl. Superman director James Gunn recently shared an Instagram photo with several actors from the Dcu reboot, leading to speculation that the two new faces in the pic had joined the cast.
Sure enough, THR is now reporting that Mikaela Hoover and Christopher MacDonald will appear in the movie as Clark Kent and Lois Lane's fellow Daily Planet newshounds.
Hoover will play Cat Grant, "a gossip columnist who had her eyes set on Kent," and MacDonald is playing Ron Troupe, "one of the best reporters in the newsroom."
Hoover has appeared in several previous Gunn-directed and produced movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad and The Belko Experiment. McDonald - not to be confused with the veteran Happy Gilmore actor - is a newcomer to the screen.

James Gunn’s Superman has added Mikaela Hoover (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3) and Christopher MacDonald to its cast, sources have confirmed to Deadline.
The pair will respectively play Cat Grant and Ron Troupe, a pair of reporters for the Daily Planet, where Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan) works. David Corenswet leads the ensemble as Clark Kent/Superman, with Nicholas Hoult as the villain Lex Luthor. Others set for roles in the highly anticipated Warner Bros feature, as previously announced, include Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Skyler Gisondo, María Gabriela de Faría, Sara Sampaio and Beck Bennett, to name just a few.

Mikaela Hoover and newcomer Christopher MacDonald are the latest actors to join the cast of James Gunn’s “Superman,” which is currently in production.
The duo will be playing Daily Planet staffers Cat Grant and Ron Troupe. Earlier this week, “SNL” Alum Beck Bennet also joined the Daily Planet masthead as Sports editor Steve Lombard.
Created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist Jerry Ordway, Cat Grant first appeared in 1987’s “The Adventures of Superman” #424 as a gossip columnist for the Daily Planet. On the small screen Cat Grant was previously played by Tracy Scoggins in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” and Calista Flockhart in the “Arrowverse” television series “Supergirl.”

James Gunn is filling out the Daily Planet newsroom.
Mikaela Hoover and Christopher McDonald have joined the cast of Gunn’s Superman, the inaugural movie of DC Studios.
The feature is currently in production in Atlanta with David Corenswet starring as Clark Kent/Superman, and Rachel Brosnahan playing Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane.
The duo will have company on the news desk. Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Saturday Night Live alum Beck Bennett had joined the production to play Steve Lombard, a blowhard and self-serving reporter who in the comics serves as a foil to boy scout reporter Kent.
Sources tell THR that Hoover is playing Cat Grant, who in the comics was a gossip columnist who had her eyes set on Kent. The character, created by Marv Wolfman and Jerry Ordway, has appeared in several TV shows, most notably in CW’s Supergirl in which she was played by Calista Flockhart.
