If any moment from The Walking Dead is to go down in infamy, it’s the death of Glenn. The beloved character, played by Steven Yeun, was there right from the first season, becoming an instant fan-favourite and earning audience sympathy, whether battling for his life against hordes of the undead, or engaging in a sweet romance with Lauren Cohan’s Maggie. But just as the character does in the original Robert Kirkman comics, Glenn’s journey came to a brutal end on screen at the hands of Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan – a sadistic leader who looks to break the spirit of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes by bashing Glenn’s head in with barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bat ‘Lucille’. It was a stomach-churning sequence that proved just as controversial in adaptation as in its original form.
Even Lincoln wonders if it was a step too far for audiences. “I do...

There was a lot of debate and speculation about how Marvel Studios planned to proceed with a sequel to Black Panther following the tragic death of star Chadwick Boseman, and the decision was ultimately made to forge ahead with Wakanda Forever and have another character take up the mantle.
T'Challa's little sister always seemed like the most obvious choice (though others were rumored), and while Marvel did a pretty good job of keeping the reveal out of the various trailers and TV spots, Shuri (Letitia Wright) ended up honouring her late brother and mother (Angela Bassett) by suiting-up as Wakanda's new protector.
The movie concludes with Shuri meeting her nephew, the son T'Challa had with Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), and finally allowing herself to stop mourning her brother's death by burning her funeral robes.
Though T'Challa Jr. (Divine Love Konadu-Sun) will likely grow to take up his father's mantle and...

A complicated rights issue prevented Marvel Studios from introducing Namor to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years, but the aquatic anti-hero finally made his debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Narcos actor Tenoch Huerta played the character, who started out as an enemy of Shuri (Letitia Wright), before forming an uneasy alliance with Wakanda's new protector towards the end of the movie.
Last year, Huerta was hit with sexual assault allegations by saxophonist María Elena Ríos, who accused the actor of being a "sexual predator" in a series of Tweets.
The story was picked up and widely circulated online, and Huerta later released a statement (via Variety) categorically denying Rios' claims and calling them “false and completely unsubstantiated.”
“About a year ago, I dated Elena for several months,” Huerta wrote. “It was entirely consensual at all times, as countless others can attest. And throughout it was a loving, warm and mutually supportive relationship.

Avengers: Endgame sits at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with more than 550 reviews. However, with many critics turning on superhero movies in recent years, there's been an increase in "superhero fatigue" talk and a general, often overly harsh, criticism of the genre.
However, one person who won't put up with the 2019 movie being torn down in any way is singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson.
In a new video posted on The Kelly Clarkson Show's YouTube channel, the American Idol winner responds to negative Letterboxd reviews. In the case of Avengers: Endgame, she was having none of it.
"Who gave this a bad review?" Clarkson wondered before mocking critics: "'Ugh, it’s just these big epic Marvel things. These big epic superhero movies.' Fans love them. Not everything has to be Shawshank Redemption. Whatever."
The review also referenced Martin Scorsese's scathing assessment of comic book adaptations to which Clarkson said,...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally brought Namor the Submariner into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the character underwent some significant changes, with Atlantis swapped out for Talokan and his origin story rooted in Mayan legend.
While not everyone was happy about that, it went a long way in helping to differentiate Namor from DC's Aquaman.
Thanks to Marvel Studios concept artist Phil Saunders (who has spent the past year working on Disney's Tron: Ares), we have a new look at some sequences which didn't make it into the Black Panther sequel's final cut.
That includes a clash between Ironheart and Namora. "The script originally called for an extended battle between [Riri Williams] and [Namora] that would have taken them underwater," Saunders says. "It was inevitably cut to keep the focus on [Shuri] and [Namor], but gave me the opportunity to paint some dynamic shots."

As a Virgo, I’m all about order. As a kid, I created my own card catalog for my collection of books, as if I were a library. I still alphabetize and catalog all of my music on Discogs. Even my Emmy notes are neatly organized by year, going all the way back to 1996.
That’s why I wasn’t happy in the late 1990s when hourlong shows like “Ally McBeal” and “Desperate Housewives” entered the Emmy comedy race. Hourlong dramedies are not comedies! No one ever called “All in the Family” — which had some deep, dark moments — a drama, and yet there were a couple of laughs in “Desperate Housewives” (which opened with a death!) and suddenly it’s a comedy?
Sadly, I lost this battle years ago. And as we know, the comedy race is really now a dramedy race. The frontrunner, FX’s “The Bear,” is famously...

As Marvel fans eagerly await the next installment in the Black Panther franchise, the legacy of T’Challa, as portrayed by the late Chadwick Boseman, continues to resonate with audiences. One scene in particular, from Captain America: Civil War, highlights T’Challa’s skills and competence as the Black Panther, leaving fans with chills and a desire to see him back in action.
Naturally, that raises the question: who should turn into the next Black Panther?
Is it T’Challa’s ex-lover and accomplished Wakandan spy, Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o)? Maybe it was T’Challa’s closest confidant, Okoye (Danai Gurira). Well, it seems the sister of T’Challa, Princess Shuri (Letitia Wright), is the only truly apparent contender for the throne, for now.

AMC Networks — the company behind such cable channel brands as AMC, IFC and Sundance TV, as well as such streaming services as AMC+, Acorn TV and Shudder — reported a 13 percent drop in first-quarter U.S. advertising revenue Friday, following a 23 percent decline in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Elle Fanning is best known for portraying Sleeping Beauty in the 2014 film Maleficent and its 2019 sequel Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. So, I am unsurprised that she chose to channel her iconic character, Aurora, on the red carpet at the 2024 Met Gala.
On Monday, May 6, Elle Fanning was among the many celebrities who attended the event, which raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits.

The Walking Dead started as a comic series by Robert Kirkman, artists Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard in 2003. Publishes primarily in black and white, the series ran for 193 issues before ending in 2019. AMC acquired the rights for the graphic novel from its creator in 2009, before spawning a full-fledged franchise of The Walking Dead.

Kirkman has also written the comic series for Invincible, which is currently busy producing the third season of its animated series on Amazon Prime. This is why there is speculation about his other comic series also someday getting an animated adaptation. The creator said that while he would love for The Walking Dead to get an animation, it can only happen under one circumstance.

After 11 long seasons on screen, The Walking Dead series came to an end in 2022. But the characters of Rick Grimes and Michonne had left the story a while before its conclusion. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira went on to join the spin-off show, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. The limited series recently had its season finale, and now fans have some questions.
Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
While the finale has given us a pretty satisfactory ending, it does not mean that it is the end of the story or that the audience is ready to say goodbye to such important characters in the franchise. Most importantly, the biggest question on everyone’s mind is whether Lincoln’s Rick and Gurira’s Michonne have any plans to continue their story with a second season.

But did you know that the show was supposed to run for four more seasons with two characters taking the lead after the exit of Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira? Lincoln’s Rick Grimes left after season 8, and Gurira’s Michonne made her exit in 10. While Reedus’ Daryl Dixon took the lead after Grimes left to join the Crm, he too was going to make his way out of the Twd universe. At this time, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan were supposed to take over.

In today’s world of quick fixes and instant gratification, The Walking Dead is a series that has stood the test of time over a staggering 12 years and eleven seasons. A significant factor in the success of the post-apocalyptic drama was the ensemble cast of recurring and new actors over various seasons who added many layers to the narrative.

The Walking Dead started with the story of Rick Grimes played by Andrew Lincoln. As the story progressed, after 8 seasons leading the show, Lincoln said goodbye and made his exit in season 9 of the post-apocalyptic horror series. But that wasn’t the end of the story for either Rick Grimes or Andrew Lincoln. The star was preparing to join the cast of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Lived.

And Black Panther star Danai Gurira was set to join the second movie in the trilogy, after exiting the show in season 10. But neither Lincoln nor the creators were happy to waste so much time before the character of Michonne, played by Gurira, could reunite with Grimes in the story.

AMC Networks’ plans to submit the zombie spinoff “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” as a limited series for the Emmys have been killed.
The cable network had announced plans to submit the six-episode spinoff, created by Scott M. Gimple, Danai Gurira, and Andrew Lincoln, for outstanding limited or anthology series at the Primetime Emmys. However, Variety has learned exclusively from two sources with direct knowledge that the show is ineligible to submit in the category.
In 2021, the Television Academy defined what constitutes a limited or anthology series, stating that the story must be resolved within its season without any ongoing storylines. This criteria affected past winners, such as the second season of “The White Lotus,” which was required to compete as a drama due to Jennifer Coolidge’s recurring character. According to the Academy’s ruling at the time, “the reappearance in a subsequent ‘season’ of one character...

English actor Andrew Lincoln came into prominence with shows like This Life and Teachers, before becoming popular because of his role in the Christmas rom-com, Love Actually (2003). He played the role of a man in love with his best friend’s wife, opposite Kiera Knightley, and his confession was one for the books. That day, we all fell in love with Mark, and in extension, Andrew Lincoln.

As you prep your 2024 Emmy predictions for Best Drama Actress, make sure you check out our photo gallery showcasing the likeliest contenders. None of last year’s half dozen nominees – including winner Sarah Snook (“Succession”) – are eligible this time, leaving plenty of slots open for both newcomers and past hopefuls.
All of Snook’s 2023 challengers differ from her in that their shows are still in production (albeit delayed until at least late 2024). They are Sharon Horgan (“Bad Sisters”), Melanie Lynskey (“Yellowjackets”), Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), Bella Ramsey (“The Last of Us”), and Keri Russell (“The Diplomat”).
With all of those actresses out of the running, the current race leaders are Anna Sawai (“Shōgun”) and Jennifer Aniston (“The Morning Show”), the latter of whom was recognized for the same series in 2020 and won Best Comedy Actress for “Friends” in 2002. Her “Morning Show” cast mate, Reese Witherspoon, is expected to join...

Not just with each other, but with their family and friends. Having dismantled the nefarious Crm from the inside, the titular “ones who live” earned their way back to the Alexandria safe zone they called home for so many seasons, with Rick reuniting with his daughter for the first time in years, and meeting his son Rj for the first time ever.

At a dinner celebrating Thom Browne’s 20th anniversary and his just-launched capsule collection at Saks Fifth Avenue, the designer told the guests — who included Diane Keaton, Janelle Monáe, Logan Lerman and Danai Gurira — that the night felt like a homecoming.
“L.A. is almost my second home … I do feel like I had five really formative years here that I still hold dear to this day,” Browne explained during a toast at Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills Thursday night.
Years before he launched his label, the designer of now-iconic suits that have redefined suiting had trekked to Los Angeles while searching for a professional passion. The late interior designer Paul Fortune, whose clients included Sofia Coppola and Marc Jacobs, befriended Browne and later offered his guesthouse as a residence. It was there, adjacent to a pool under the California sunshine, that Browne began to contemplate his future.

Exclusive: Desean Terry (The Morning Show) and Nikkole Salter are partnering to adapt and executive produce Salter’s play Lines in the Dust into a feature film under Terry’s Think Switch Entertainment banner. Terry is also set to direct.
Loosely inspired by real-life cases, Lines in the Dust shines a light on the issue of school residency fraud against the backdrop of Newark, NJ. The play, like its film adaptation, delves into this silent crime prevalent across America, particularly in communities of color. The film will tell the story of a Black woman facing prosecution for this crime, highlighting the systemic inequities and challenges faced by marginalized communities in accessing quality education for their children.
Salter, a Los Angeles-born, Obie Award-winning actress and dramatist, arrived onto the scene with her co-authorship and co-performance with Danai Gurira (Black Panther) of the Pulitzer Prize-nominated play In the Continuum.

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live’s series finale brought many things full circle.
Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne’s (Danai Gurira) journey has been filled with significant developments. Still, nothing could prepare them for the Echelon Briefing and what General Beale (Terry O’Quinn) and his army had planned for the rest of the world.
Knowing they needed to save everyone, Rick and Michonne embarked on a devastating mission to take down Beale’s army and protect other communities.
That meant the good guys won this final battle but is happiness on the horizon?

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live finale.
In some ways, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live marks the end of an era for AMC‘s long-running zombie franchise.
As fans saw in the Rick and Michonne spinoff’s sixth and final episode, the story of The Walking Dead‘s central lawman appears to have come to a satisfying conclusion (for the time being at least). Following many years in the figurative and literal wilderness, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) return home to Alexandria in “The Last Time” where Rick reunites with his daughter Judith (Cailey Fleming) and meets his son R.J. (Antony Azor). It’s the rarest of occasions for The Walking Dead: an honest-to-goodness happy ending.
Of course, The Walking Dead isn’t a big fan of endings, happy or otherwise. Though the flagship series concluded with its 11th season,...

The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live was a special 6-episode spin-off from the original The Walking Dead series that told the story of what happened to some of the characters after the conclusion of the original series. Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, and Pollyanna McIntosh reprised their roles as Rick Grimes, Michonne, and Jadis Stokes / Anne respectively, with the series receiving generally positive reviews and is considered an important part of The Walking Dead canon.
Now, the series ended on March 31, 2024, and The Hollywood Reporter sat down with the two main stars of the series – Lincoln and Gurira – to discuss the series’ emotional ending and how the story of the spin-off shaped canon.
The series – Spoiler Alert – ends happily, with the main characters surviving the events of the spin-off and are now in for a “happily ever after” scenario, which, as the actors revealed, was something that had to happen.

And the ones who lived lived happily ever after. The end.
For now.
The six-episode limited series The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has reached its conclusion, bringing the story of Andrew Lincoln’s Rick Grimes and Danai Gurira’s Michonne to a close, if only for the time being. Heading into the reunion series, there was little doubt Rick and Michonne would join together again and kick a staggering amount of butt along the way. Would they survive said butt-kickings? Another question entirely. But the Ones Who Live finale answered that concern with a resounding victory for Rick and Michonne, who not only stop the villainous Crm from waging war against an innocent city, but manage to do it all with time to get back to their family in Alexandria.

This article contains spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode 6.
Going into The Walking Dead spinoff The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, the goal for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) were perfectly clear: to find each other once again. Having been separated since Rick left the flagship series midway through season 9, all this married couple wanted to do was get back together.
Well Rick and Michonne do get back together early in The Ones Who Live‘s run. And yet, the series still persisted on. That’s because getting back together is easy, but building the world where they’ll never have to leave each other again is significantly harder. The Civic Republic Military, of which Rick is unwillingly a part of, is hellbent on conquering smaller communities like Rick and Michonne’s own Alexandria. What’s worse is that Rick’s old...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, Season 1, Episode 6, “The Last Time.”] Did you reach your box of tissues in time? From the start of the sixth and final episode of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (including that incredible establishing shot it opened on), it was clear that fans of the long-running zombie franchise were in for a gut-punch of an episode. The most formidable couple at the end of the world — Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) — faced a series of life-altering decisions and ultimatums as they stole Jadis’ (Pollyanna McIntosh) secret file on them, learned just what the Civic Republic Military in Philadelphia were up to, and, of course, took the bad guys out. And all those epic explosions and near-bites from the dead were great, don’t get us ...

Spoilers ahead for “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” Episode 6.
After six heart-pounding episodes, “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live” concluded on as close to a happily-ever-after as this universe knows with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) reuniting with their children. According to executive producer and “Walking Dead” chief content officer Scott Gimple, that was always going to be the case.
“I don’t have the best working memory,” Gimple confided to TheWrap. “I’m 90% sure, though, that we knew the ending of this before we started. We just didn’t know the journey to that end.”
Gimple noted that he, Lincoln and Gurira always knew that they wanted this limited series to be about these two lost lovers finding each other physically, but that along the way, it also became about them finding each other “emotionally” and “spiritually.”
“But this was the end. There was...

This The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live review contains spoilers.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Episode 6
Between the two of them, Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) have amassed a body count that would rival any of history’s greatest monsters, and that’s only talking about living victims.
Rick Grimes, for all his nobility, seems to be the character that The Walking Dead makes into the show’s punching bag when it comes to pushing the limits of good taste. Eugene might have bitten a guy’s groin during a fight, but that guy recovered in the end (as far as we know). Rick Grimes once ripped a guy’s throat out with his teeth. Granted, Rick has always been capable of terrible things, provided he had a good enough cause to do them. The throat-ripping was to save his son; admittedly, that’s a...

In Sunday’s finale of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, “Richonne” took the “im-” out of “mission: impossible.”
While Michonne destroyed Jadis’ Alexandria dossier, Rick received the much-ballyhooed Echelon Briefing from Beale. The gist of it? In 18 hours, the Crm intended to steal away a few bright kids from Portland, then annihilate the city as it established itself as the most powerful force on the planet.

Ever since Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) left The Walking Dead in 2018, there was a promise that his story would get the ending it deserves.
What was initially supposed to be a movie trilogy turned into The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live — a six-episode limited series.
Although there have been questions about whether any storylines would be left open at the end of the finale, the episode gave Rick and his soon-to-be wife, Michonne (Danai Gurira), a relatively happy ending.
When we picked up on the final episode, Rick arrived at the Crm to reveal that he had survived his fall from the helicopter and was back because he was ready for the next phase of Crm’s plans.
As Thorne (Lesley-Ann Brandt) and Beale (Terry O’Quinn) reacted positively to the man who tried to escape countless times returning, Michonne spent her time trying to find Jadis’ dossier. Alexandria was...

Almost fourteen years ago, The Walking Dead, the TV show, came into our lives and became an instant favorite. There had been movies and shows with post-apocalyptic themes and zombies before, but the way The Walking Dead managed to influence pop culture was simply unparalleled. The comic books and the video game were already there, but it was the TV show that propelled this franchise to the heights of unimaginable success. And the name Rick Grimes became synonymous with the rise of this gigantic franchise. There shouldn’t be any argument over the fact that the character is the face of the franchise.
Cut to the present. The franchise is still going strong, with one after another spinoff being churned out. But the appeal is long gone. And the only way the franchise could regain some of its past glory is by bringing Rick Grimes back, who took an exit...
