Late-night was a somber affair on Monday night (July 15) as hosts Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Anthony Anderson (filling in for Jimmy Kimmel) addressed the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday (July 13). All three hosts denounced the shooting and called for the end of “hatred and vitriol in our politics.” Elsewhere, The Daily Show decided to skip its Monday show, canceling its original plans to cover the Republican National Convention from Milwaukee, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon chose to avoid the topic altogether. Read more below to see each late-night host’s reaction to the attempted assassination. Stephen Colbert Expresses Relief that Trump Lived “The United States came close to a great tragedy on Saturday, when at a political rally down in Pennsylvania, a 20-year-old gunman shot and nearly killed a former president and the man who today became the 2024 Republican nominee,” Colbert said in...

Late-night hosts addressed the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday, and opened their Monday monologues with a somber message, condemning the shooting and calling on Americans to safeguard the country’s democracy.
“The United States came close to a great tragedy on Saturday, when at a political rally down in Pennsylvania, a 20-year-old gunman shot and nearly killed a former president and the man who today became the 2024 Republican nominee,” said Stephen Colbert in pre-taped opener before the show’s usual live edition of The Late Show.

Seth Meyers opened Monday’s Late Night monologue without jokes, calling the assassination attempt against Trump “poison to our democracy.”
“Political violence must be rejected in all its forms — it is both morally wrong and a poison to democracy,” Meyers said in a somber monologue. “We must all condemn it and repudiate it and do everything in our power to stop it.”
Meyers said his prep for Monday’s show felt reminiscent of the day his Late Night team crafted their response to the Jan. 6 insurrection in 2021. “I said then that multiracial, pluralistic democracy is fragile and precious,” he said. “It requires our vigilance, stewardship and protection. That’s as true now as it was then, and in light of the horrific events at a Trump rally on Saturday, it’s clear that we must recommit ourselves to that endeavor as fully and as steadfastly as we can.”

Seth Meyers has words for Donald Trump’s new right-hand man.
After condemning the “horrifying” assassination attempt made against Trump on Saturday and elaborating that “political violence must be condemned in all its forms,” the “Late Night” host also took a moment to condemn how certain right-wing political voices have responded to attack.
He first called for “an inclusive politics of compassion, empathy and community” and encouraged viewers to have conversations about “the real work of democracy,” saying, “That’s what we need.”
“What we don’t need are the opportunistic purveyors of paranoia, suspicion and fear who have already rushed to fill the void with incendiary conspiracy theories and lies,” he continued, before cutting to coverage of the assassination on various news programs.
J.D. Vance, the Ohio senator who Trump announced as his vice presidential pick earlier on Monday, was among the reactors Meyers was calling out.

Originally a comic book series, ‘The Boys’ has transcended its origins through Amazon Prime’s streaming adaptation, which includes significant changes and additions, propelling the series to global acclaim. While Homelander remains a formidable villain in the series, actor Antony Starr has distinguished himself quite differently.
Starr’s portrayal has garnered immense praise from fans, drawing comparisons to Heath Ledger’s iconic Joker. In various interviews, the actor has actively discouraged fans from supporting Homelander, emphasizing the character’s undeniable villainy.
Recently, Starr disclosed a significant vulnerability he experienced on the set of The Boys, one that was also symbolically portrayed on-screen, adding an intriguing layer to his character. This weakness stems from a childhood crush, and we’ll reveal who it is in the following paragraphs.
Starr himself confirmed this revelation during an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, where he delved into his role and various aspects of the show’s production.

The Boys are primarily known as a comic book series, but Amazon Prime’s streaming adaptation of the comic book – which contains a lot of changes and additions – has helped the series become a global phenomenon. And while Homelander is undoubtedly the series’ biggest villain, actor Antony Starr has proven himself to be completely different.
We have reported how fans are praising Starr’s performance in the series, comparing him to Heath Ledger’s Joker, and the actor himself has given numerous interviews, even urging fans not to support Homelander, as the guy is obviously a villain who cannot be supported in any way.
But, recently, Starr revealed that he had one major weakness on the set of The Boys, a weakness that was also symbolically represented on-screen, which is quite interesting to know. The weakness is the result of a childhood crush, and we are going to reveal who...

Antony Starr is practically invincible in his role as the super-powered Homelander in Prime Video’s The Boys.
But he confessed during an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers that one character on the show left him weak in the knees. That would be Elisabeth Shue, who played Vought International boss Madelyn Stillwell earlier in the series.
Shue became his crush as a young boy after seeing The Karate Kid, Starr said.
“When I was little, and she was actually not that much older than me, but slightly. I was a big fan of The Karate Kid,” Starr said. “I used to do karate when I was a little kid, and my dad took me to see The Karate Kid at the movies. And Ali, aka Elisabeth Shue, was probably my first on-screen crush.”

Andy Samberg is detailing his “Saturday Night Live” exit more than a decade later.
The sketch series staple joined the ensemble cast of the show in 2005. He exited in 2012 after seven years on the show. While Samberg admitted leaving was “a big choice,” he couldn’t “endure it anymore” due to the grueling work schedule.
“I was falling apart in my life,” he said during Kevin Hart‘s Peacock talk show “Hart to Heart” (via The Hollywood Reporter). “Physically, it was taking a heavy toll on me, and I got to a place where I … hadn’t slept in seven years, basically. We were writing stuff for the live show Tuesday night all night, the table read Wednesday, then being told, ‘Now come up with a digital short,’ so write all Thursday, all Thursday night, don’t sleep, get up, shoot Friday, edit all night Friday night and into Saturday.

Seth Meyers laid into Democrats during his “Closer Look” segment on Late Night Wednesday, deriding the party for its indecision about Joe Biden’s 2024 candidacy in light of concerns about his age and cognitive abilities in the wake of the president’s disastrous June 27 debate performance.
“Oh my God, Democrats, get your shit together,” Meyers said, making it clear that the current, scattered response isn’t going to cut it. “There’s still four months left to go and you’re already admitting defeat and holding a funeral?
“Don’t just mope around, you know, do something. If you think Biden should step aside, then tell him to get out and start the process of replacing him. If you think he should stay in then get to work and right the ship now,” the host added. “But this melancholy, hand-wringing, woe-is-me bullshit is so exhausting. No one cares how sad you guys are.

As the 2024 election nears, late-night hosts continue to closely follow the dueling campaigns, including weighing in on the noisy debate fallout, Wednesday night’s (July 10) segments featured sober warnings about “Project 2025,” the Heritage Foundation’s agenda to overhaul the current administration for a conservative America. Though Donald Trump recently distanced himself from Project 2024, the hosts of late-night TV were not buying it. Instead, each took time to point out the former president’s ties to the extreme agenda, which includes enacting unitary executive control, more immigration policing, slashing federal funding for renewable energy, and ending “woke propaganda” such as diversity and inclusion programs if Trump is elected. Here’s how Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert weighed in on Project 2025. Seth Meyers accused Trump of lying about his involvement with Project 2025. “His aides are involved and his Super Pac is running ads on it. The only way Trump could be any...

"Saturday Night Live" is a comedy institution that has been on the air for nearly a half-century. Soon, the series will be celebrating its milestone 50th season, which will include a star-studded anniversary celebration coming to NBC in February 2025. Even if you're one of those people who (wrongly) tells people that "SNL" isn't funny anymore, you can't deny that the late night sketch comedy series has cultivated some of the most brilliant comedic minds in modern Hollywood history -- whether it's the rough edges of live TV comedy innovation that came with the likes of Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Bill Murray, and Gilda Radner in the 1970s or the off-kilter shenanigans of Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Chris Farley, and Adam Sandler in the '90s. (Even the troublesome 1980s years under the supervision of producer Dick Ebersol gave us Eddie Murphy and Martin Short.)

When you’re lucky enough to have a viral hit song, and it happens to be with a pop music superstar, and then you get a chance to perform it at Madison Square Garden … and you utterly blow it.
It’s a story Andy Samberg just told on The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast on Monday.
The song was “Dick in a Box,” the risqué 1990s R&b parody that premiered on Saturday Night Live in 2006 as a digital short (along with 16 bleeps) and later racked up 28 million views on YouTube (the original is below). The song was written by The Lonely Island (Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone) and songwriter Katreese Barnes, along with that week’s SNL host, Justin Timberlake, spoofing his Nsync past.
Samberg eventually got the opportunity to perform the song with Timberlake at a show in New York, and that’s where things went wrong.

One of the most memorable SNL “Digital Shorts” found Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake singing about celebrating Christmas — not to mention Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and “every single holiday” — by gifting women their junk wrapped up in festive parcels.
“Dick in a Box” aired nearly 20 years ago, back in 2006, which was such a long time ago, apparently you couldn’t even say the word “Dick” on television without being bleeped?
The song proved so successful that Samberg and Timberlake revived the characters for the latter’s concert at Madison Square Garden in 2007, performing “Dick in a Box” for a sold-out crowd that included future President Donald Trump and Diddy. In retrospect, it’s pretty wild that the characters crooning about surprising people with their genitals were less creepy than some audience members.
So where did the idea for “Dick in a Box” come from? In a recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast,...

Late night shows returned following a hiatus on Monday night, giving hosts Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon their first chances to react to last month’s presidential debate.
While Jon Stewart weighed in on the debate with a live Daily Show after the face-off on Thursday, June 27, Colbert, Meyers and Fallon were off that week as well as last week.
“So, should he stay, should he go? Who am I to recommend?” Colbert said on The Late Show. “I don’t know what’s going on in Joe Biden’s mind. Something I apparently have in common with Joe Biden.”
Fallout from Biden and Trump’s debate was swift, with many people criticizing the president’s faltering performance and some calling for him to step down from seeking reelection.
Still Biden has remained defiant, insisting that he’s still running and isn’t considering dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.

Jon Stewart criticized Joe Biden and the White House’s response to ongoing concerns about the president’s mental fitness and candidacy.
Returning to The Daily Show on Monday night, Stewart played recent clips of Biden struggling with his words as the president tried to reassure voters in the wake of his disastrous debate performance on June 27 (a debate that Stewart called “a shocking display of cognitive difficulty”). Stewart also played clips of Biden and his supporters offering an array of excuses to explain the president’s performance (such as the debunked claim that the president was jet lagged from a trip taken two weeks earlier).
“For a campaign based on honesty and decency, the spin about the debate appears to be blatant bullshit, and the redemption tour hasn’t gone that much better,” Stewart said. “We’re told that the threat of Trump is so great and the stakes...

The Presidential Debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump was held 11 days ago but the majority of late-night hosts have been off since it occurred.
Tonight was Stephen Colbert’s first chance to discuss the debate and he didn’t sugarcoat it.
The Late Show host said that he believes Joe Biden a great and successful President.
“So, should he stay? Should he go? Who am I to recommend? I don’t know what’s going on in Joe Biden’s mind. Something I apparently have in common with Joe Biden,” he said.
Colbert said that during the 90-minute CNN debate, Biden’s rival for the Presidency, former President Donald Trump “proved once again that he is demonstrably a monster”.
“Going into it, all Joe had to do was allay people’s fears that he was too old, but instead, Biden’s shakiness allowed Trump to get away with 90 minutes of lies,...

There was nothing going on in terms of American or international politics over the last few weeks that late-night would have gotten its teeth into, right?
The majority of late-night hosts were enjoyed some time off over the last couple of weeks, but the likes of Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon are back in the studio and ready to dig into the news of the day.
Will they find time to discuss the state of the U.S. Presidential Election, President Biden’s debate performance and the subsequent calls for him to exit the race and former President Trump’s own debate performance, his ties to Project 2025 and his search for a Vice President?
The Late Show will have some guests on this week that will be able to help. Tonight, the CBS show will have CNN anchor Abby Phillip on, alongside Michael Douglas and a dog adoption segment featuring Antony Starr,...

Add Beck Bennett to the list of Saturday Night Live stars populating superhero movies. James Gunn recently announced that Bennett would appear in his new Superman film as Steve Lombard, a loudmouthed sportswriter who lives to torment Clark Kent.
Bennett is just the latest SNL star to find his way into the Marvel and DC cinematic universes, too. Here are other SNL vets who suited up for super action…
1 Robert Downey Jr.
The undisputed king of this list, Downey spent a tortured year as an SNL cast member when he was only 21. “I learned so much in that year about what I wasn’t,” he told the Off-Camera Show’s Sam Jones. “I was not somebody who was going to do impressions. I was somebody who was very ill-suited for rapid-fire sketch comedy.”

The Bear: From Kitchen Nightmare to Michelin Star? The Real-Life Chef Behind David Fields ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
As fans enjoy watching the FX comedy-drama The Bear, there is one character almost everyone despises: David Fields. The chef, wonderfully played by actor Joel McHale, is the former boss of Carmy, who made his life a living hell.
After being tormented by his boss, Carmy finally finds the courage to stand up to Fields in the third season’s finale, telling him how he gave him panic attacks and nightmares. The latter, however, showed no remorse and told him that his tough behaviour made Carmy a better man. But do you know that the abusive boss is inspired by a real personality? Here is the real-life chef on which the character of David Fields is based in The Bear.

Penn Badgley’s exceptional performance in Netflix’s You will make any fan fall in love with a demented serial killer. Badgley’s series will return for a fifth and final season in late 2024. Playing a terrible character in the series, Badgley was often disgusted by the scenes he had to film. One Season 4 scene particularly made him nauseous when he was asked to redo it.

The superhero genre has a huge fan following all over the world, and credit goes to the actors who play these roles with such dedication. In this wide array of shows and movies, Star Wars definitely stands out the tallest. Mark Hamill, who portrayed the role of Luke Skywalker in the original and sequel trilogy, is a man of several talents; from acting to narration, the star has done it all.

Many are aware of his friendly banter with his Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford, thanks to his several interviews. Adding to this is another one where the audience can see Hamill mimicking Ford yet again.

Many a comedian has gotten their start or boosted their career on Saturday Night Live. The sketch television show has provided commentary on historical happenings and popular culture since October 1975. The 50th anniversary of the series approaches, as does the 2024 presidential election, full of commentary opportunities and sketches.
While hosts and musical guests — in some cases the same celebrity who pulls double duty — keep the show current with actors promoting works and musicians promoting albums, a group of cast members has always been the staple backdrop for the rotation of guests. Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis as well as Elf star Will Ferrell came up on SNL as did Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Actors like Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Billy Crystal. Martin Short and more contributed to the laughter of the sketch comedy show. Even late night hosts Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon appeared in skits.

When Vanity Fair gathered 10 male late-night TV hosts for a photo shoot for its September 2015 issue, it left someone out.
Stephen Colbert, James Corden, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, John Oliver, Bill Maher, Trevor Noah — who had yet to host The Daily Show — Seth Meyers and Larry Wilmore were all in the photograph.
However, Andy Cohen, whose Watch What Happens Live already had been airing on Bravo for six years, wasn’t. And he hasn’t forgotten that.
“I was very conscious that I wanted to be part of the late-night conversation,” Cohen tells Deadline. He admits that when he found out he wasn’t invited, he thought “this kind of sucks” and he was “salty” about the omission. “I know what we’re doing; I know what it means to people and I know what it means to me.”

This week’s 20 Questions on Deadline guest is Seth Meyers.
This year marks Meyers’ 10th year of hosting Late Night With Seth Meyers on NBC, and something he is somewhat less enthused about: another go-round tackling a Trump election campaign.
“It is so deeply disappointing that this whole thing is circling back again,” Meyers said on the podcast, “because one of the most palpable reliefs I’ve ever felt is when the election was called the last time, and just that sense of, ‘Well, huh, that’s that.’ I would much rather do comedy about something else, all things being equal.”
However, the upside is he certainly never finds himself short on material. “I don’t feel like in the next six months, my producers are ever going to say to us, ‘We’re two minutes short tonight.'”

It’s comforting to young comedians when they know even huge stars like Eddie Murphy bombed early in their careers, says Seth Meyers. But Murphy did bomb, right?
The Beverly Hills Cop star had to think about it for a moment before confirming that he did fail at stand-up — once. Well, responded Meyers, maybe this story won’t be so helpful to young comedians after all.
Murphy told the tale anyway on last night’s Late Night with Seth Meyers. He was only 17 when it happened, at a jazz club in Queens named Gerald’s. Were 17-year-olds allowed in Queens jazz clubs? For that night, at least, they were.
Someone from the club explained to Murphy how the night would work. He would do two spots — the band would play, Murphy would do some stand-up. Then the band would play some more, followed by the comic’s second spot. Okay,...

In 2015, the TV academy decided to split the variety series Emmy category into two separate ones in order to better recognize achievements in the talk and scripted subgenres. This year, there are 14 shows vying for spots in the Best Talk Series lineup. For comparison, the 2022 and 2023 ballots each included 19 hopefuls. Four of the series listed below will reap bids this year, giving each entrant pretty good odds.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 24 to cast their ballots for their favorite talk shows. Each person is limited to four choices, reflecting the number of eventual nominees. Which of the talk series listed below do you think will make the final cut on July 17?

The Jon Hamm/Kristen Wiig lovefest continues. After recently reminiscing with Wiig about their comic sex scenes over the years, Hamm showed up on Late Night with Seth Meyers to discuss more of the couple’s close encounters of the comedy kind.
The two had recently been featured in one of those “Actors on Actors” kind of conversations, and Meyers reminded Hamm that the duo had literally been actors on actors in Bridesmaids. “Yes, we were,” Hamm giggled. “Physically, we were actors on each other’s actors.” If they hadn’t physically been atop one another, he said, the series would have been called “Actors Near Actors."
“Wiig has been in some of the more memorable comedy intimacy scenes of all time,” says Meyers. “She’s so game for stuff like that.”

In Gary Gulman’s latest stand-up special, Born on Third Base, he rants about cartoonish income inequality, even within stand-up comedy. “Do you remember the guy who played Jerry on Seinfeld?” he jokes. “He’s in the same business, ostensibly, as I am, but he is worth over $1 billion.”
Seinfeld might be a better comedian, Gulman says. But “is he $999,911,000 better than me? And now, you know my net worth. About $89,000, if you consider my security deposit to be an asset.”
The subject of income inequality in comedy came up again this week when NBC announced it was cutting costs by firing the 8G Band from Late Night with Seth Meyers. It’s hard to say how much money the band made — I’m guessing less than the reported $1 million for the Roots on The Tonight Show — but given late-night hosts’ traditional hefty salaries, one inevitable question has to be...

Julia Louis-Dreyfus teamed up with Seth Meyers for an unforgettable session on his Day Drinking segment, proclaiming straight away, This show is a terrible idea. Filmed at The Dawson in Manhattan, the event was marked by a series of creative, if not outright bizarre, alcoholic concoctions. Presidential Drinks Round The entertaining session included themed beverages inspired by Louis-Dreyfus’s HBO series Veep. Notable drinks were Nelson Rockefeller, Alben W. Jimmy Fallon has renewed his deal with NBCUniversal, holding onto his position as the host of “The Tonight Show” through 2028.
The extension comes just after Fallon’s 10-year anniversary on the show, which NBC celebrated with a two-hour primetime special on May 14.
Fallon has been an NBC mainstay since 1998, when he joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” He remained on the late night sketch show for six seasons, hosting “Weekend Update” alongside Tina Fey from 2000 to 2004, at which point he left the show to pursue a film career. He returned to the network in 2009, succeeding Conan O’Brien as the host of “Late Night” until 2014 before moving to “The Tonight Show,” succeeding Jay Leno.
Also on NBC, Fallon hosts the game show “That’s My Jam” and executive produces and serves as a panelist on “Password,” hosted by Keke Palmer.

NBC has now locked in both of its late night hosts for several more years.
Jimmy Fallon has renewed his deal with NBCUniversal, which will keep him hosting The Tonight Show through 2028. Fallon’s renewal comes a month after Seth Meyers re-upped at NBC, keeping him at Late Night for four more years. Both hosts recently passed the 10-year mark at their respective shows.

Jimmy Fallon is sticking around 30 Rock.
Fallon has extended his deal with NBC to continue hosting The Tonight Show through 2028.
His current deal, that he signed in 2021, is thought to run through 2026, giving him at least another two years. Fallon, who earlier this year celebrated his tenth anniversary, recently told Deadline that he wanted to break Johnny Carson’s record on The Tonight Show. Carson did 30 years.
The move also lined up Fallon’s contract with the recent deal with his late-night peer Seth Meyers, who struck a deal to keep hosting Late Night, through 2028.
Fallon is deep in business with the company; he also hosts musical game show That’s My Jam, which has been delayed to 2025, and is an exec producer and panelist on Password. Deadline understands that Fallon is also working on a number of other TV projects for the network.

The 8G Band has been a part of Late Night With Seth Meyers for 11 seasons. Led by Fred Armisen on drums, the group features Les Savy Fav’s Seth Jabour and Syd Butler as well as Eli Janney of Girls Against Boys. Ahead of the Emmy nomination voting on Thursday, the Television Academy has revised its Emmy rules regarding submissions and nominee numbers. This update will significantly impact the scripted variety category, which includes “Last Week Tonight With John Oliver” and “Saturday Night Live.”
The new Rules and Procedures document on the Emmys website, updated on May 22, details changes under the Nominations Procedures section. Previously, categories with fewer than seven submissions required contenders to be screened by a peer group, with nominees needing at least 90% approval. If no submissions met this threshold, the highest vote-getter would be declared the winner.
The updated rules have lowered the nomination threshold from 90% to 70%, as well as capped the number of potential nominees at two.
In 2023, the scripted variety category had 12 submissions, resulting in three nominees. This year, Variety has been tracking only four expected submissions: last year’s winner John Oliver, “SNL,” CBS’s “After Midnight...

A birthday dinner for Stephen Colbert turned into a humbling experience for John Oliver.
While guesting Wednesday on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers recalled an outing the two had with Oliver, Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon to celebrate Colbert’s 60th birthday.
Before the festivities began, Meyers, Kimmel and Oliver were waiting for the party to begin when they were approached by a British couple who was so excited to meet a certain late night host.
But they weren’t interested in snapping a shot with their fellow countryman Oliver, who hosts Last Week Tonight for HBO.
They wanted face time with ABC’s Kimmel, instead.
“They asked Oliver if Oliver would take a picture of them with Kimmel,” Meyers explained. “By the way, Oliver loves stuff like this. So happy. And then Fallon came in and they were like, “It’s Jimmy Fallon.’ And they took a picture.

Every drinker knows that mixing drinks in the same session is a bad idea. But that didn’t stop Seth Meyers and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who decided to go day drinking on a Tuesday in a Late Night celebration of her new movie, coincidentally named Tuesday.
The pair took over The Dawson bar in New York City and began quickly pounding them down, with Meyers mixing and matching behind the bar. Their drinks ran from a dry martini to a combination of whiskies, down to a Jägerbomb. There followed several sloppy brain teaser games, including a “Truth or Dare” competition.
As you would expect, It started to quickly go downhill as the alcohol kicked in.
In the words of Louis-Dreyfus, it was “the stupidest show I’ve ever done,” and ended with Meyers appearing to be passing out on the floor.
And as they say in show biz, “Always leave them wanting more.

The 8G Band will be playing its last tunes on Late Night With Seth Meyers this summer.
NBC-imposed budget cuts to the show mean that the house band — keyboard player Eli Janney, guitarist Seth Jabour and bassist Syd Butler — will be going away when Late Night begins its new season in the fall. The trio have been part of the show since its debut in 2014; Fred Armisen was the bandleader for much of that time but has been more of a guest performer in the past few years.
“Seth Meyers and Mike Shoemaker, the showrunner, brought us in in person to talk about it. They expressed their regret and frustration about it,” Janney said in an interview with Vulture. “They had been trying to work it out for months, but in the end NBC was adamant about where they wanted the budget to go. Julia Louis-Dreyfus is spilling on her “worst” film ever.
The “Veep” Emmy winner and star of recent feature “Tuesday” said that 1986’s “Troll” is her critically worst movie.
“That’s easy. ‘Troll,'” Louis-Dreyfus replied when Seth Meyers asked for her bad flick during a “Day Drinking” segment during “Late Night with Seth Meyers.”
Meyers responded in shock, “I love ‘Troll’!”
Louis-Dreyfus quipped in return, “Shut the fuck up!” and threw water at him from across the bar.
“Troll” centered on a wizard who takes over an apartment building and possesses a young tenant. The film holds a 30 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes and was a January 1986 release, if that says anything about its box office hopes.
