Nandini Bapat wasn’t raised a quitter. She began acting in 2012 and has since juggled full-time gigs while landing small roles on Fox’s Scream Queens, HBO’s Barry, and Apple TV’s Physical. And after last year’s nearly four-month-long actor’s strike and work stoppage, she still believes her acting career is worth fighting for.
So when she landed her first post-strike job on a Warner Bros. production and a studio contract asked her to consent to the creation of her digital replica, she wrote “no” and headed for hair and makeup.

Alan Ritchson, the star of Prime Video’s hit series “Reacher,” is set to showcase his versatility in a new action-packed revenge thriller, “Motor City.” The film, directed by Potsy Ponciroli, promises to present Ritchson in a role that diverges significantly from his portrayal of the ultra-confident Jack Reacher.
In “Motor City,” Ritchson will play John Miller, a wrongfully convicted Detroit mechanic who embarks on a brutal quest for vengeance against those who framed him. The actor recently shared glimpses of his physical transformation for the role on social media, revealing a dramatic departure from his “Reacher” persona. Ritchson’s new look features longer hair, a leaner physique, and even modified teeth, underlining his commitment to creating a distinct character.
“My goal is always to make a character as real for you as humanly possible,” Ritchson stated, emphasizing his dedication to the craft. “I refuse to play myself. You’ve...

Wow. The power of women.
I remember Nicole Kidman's speech at the 2018 Golden Globes like it was yesterday. You certainly could sense a genuine sisterhood between the five principle stars of Big Little Lies, HBO's unexpectedly titanic, initially limited series. Amid the backdrop of #MeToo, it was quite a moment for Nicole Kidman and company.
The actress's output in the 2010s was, charitably, something of a mixed bag. For every dazzling turn in Rabbit Hole (2010), The Paperboy (2012), or Paddington (2014), there were plenty of barely released (if at all) misfires like Tresspass (2011), The Railway Man (2013), and Queen of the Desert (2015). With the notable exception of Lion (2016), things looked awfully bleak for Kidmaniacs stateside heading into a post-presidential election year...

At the Hollywood Climate Summit on Wednesday, Twisters director Lee Isaac Chung, executive producer Ashley Jay Sandberg and actor Brandon Perea were joined by some real-life tornado experts to discuss how science and climate change were woven into the upcoming film.
The new movie serves as an update to the 1996 project of the same name, following storm chasers who find themselves in a fight for their lives as multiple tornadoes converge over central Oklahoma. Shailene Woodley thinks her fellow Hollywood environmental activists must have felt they were “screaming into the void” when they started raising climate change issues. The ‘Ferrari’ actress, 32, has been actively campaigning for environmental causes since she was a child actor appearing in films such as ‘The Divergent’ and ‘The Descendants’, and got arrested protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota in 2016. She told The Hollywood Reporter about following in the footsteps of eco campaigning A-listers including Leonardo DiCaprio and Susan Sarandon: “When I first started talking about this publicly, 15, 16 years ago, it was like, ‘Oh, that cute little hippie girl.’ “I’m definitely a tree hugger, but it was looked at as this cute idealistic thing instead of a real cause to pay attention to. “I look at people like Leonardo DiCaprio, Susan Sarandon, Edward Norton, Harrison Ford – people who have been having this conversation publicly for a very long time.

It seems odd to call someone who is just 32 years old a “longtime environmentalist.” And Shailene Woodley herself dismisses labels like “environmentalist” or “activist.” So … environmental enthusiast? Tree hugger? Whatever you call her, the Big Little Lies and Ferrari star has been actively championing environmental causes since she was a child actor appearing in films like Divergent and The Descendants, from campaigning to create a recycling program at her Simi Valley High School in California to getting arrested protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline in North Dakota in 2016.
Woodley says she has gotten judicious over the years about how and where she uses her platform. Her latest attempt to shed light on an environmental issue has her diving for purple urchins in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Catalina Island in the new PBS docuseries Hope in the Water, from Big Little Lies creator David E. Kelley and chef Andrew Zimmern.

As a screenwriter, David E. Kelley is used to injecting social commentary into his material — not unlike the way the ancient Greeks entered the city of Troy. But when the creator of shows like The Practice, Big Little Lies and Ally McBeal made his foray into documentary filmmaking – with the ocean sustainability-themed Hope in the Water — the Trojan Horse method of educating was no longer applicable. “If you would leave me to my devices, I probably would’ve had a floating dead body, to talk about the biosecurity risk of people being beheaded in our oceans, but it was not going to be this kind of series,” jokes the prolific producer. “I didn’t proffer that idea. They didn’t ask for it – maybe because they were worried I might suggest something like that.”

Shailene Woodley is channeling her surfing “Big Little Lies” character for David E. Kelley’s first-ever docuseries, PBS’ “Hope in the Water.”
The three-part documentary series, on which Kelley serves as an executive advisor in collaboration with producer and four-time James Beard Award-winning chef Andrew Zimmern, highlights the stories of innovators, aquafarmers, and fishers who are working toward a sustainable future for the planet.
Along with Woodley, Martha Stewart, José Andrés, and Baratunde Thurston all appear in the series.
“David E. Kelley reached out to me to be a part of ‘Hope in the Water’ as we had talked about our mutual affections for the ocean and specifically his fish farm while working on ‘Big Little Lies,’” Woodley told IndieWire. “I really responded to the narrative of hope, specifically that this series uses it as its North Star. Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur made a handful of smaller films before bursting into mainstream Hollywood with the Mark Wahlberg action flick "Contraband" in 2012. He's stayed steadily busy ever since, cranking out the Denzel Washington/Mark Wahlberg actioner "2 Guns" in 2013, the ensemble mountain climbing thriller "Everest" in 2015, the Shailene Woodley/Sam Claflin survival movie "Adrift" in 2018, and the "Idris Elba fights a lion" movie "Beast" in 2022, plus directing a couple of television shows in between. As those credits indicate, Kormákur is primarily known to American audiences for his high-octane filmmaking style. His latest project, however, marks a significant change of pace.
"Touch," written by Kormákur and Ólafur Jóhann Ólafsson (based on a novel by Ólafsson), tells the story of Kristófer, an elderly Icelander whose wife has passed away. Spurred on by some health issues of his own and sense that he's running out of time, Kristófer sets out to find a woman named Miko,...

If Nicole Kidman is ever looking to cast her own biopic, she won’t have to look far.
Reese Witherspoon delivered a spot-on impersonation of her close friend and Big Little Lies co-star at the recent 49th AFI Life Achievement Award: A Tribute to Nicole Kidman, airing Monday on TNT.
“Most actors wait by a phone to be chosen by a director,” said Witherspoon in her speech. “But as an actor, Nicole has always been proactive. Even in her earliest work, she picks her directors.”
She then recounted a common experience of watching a foreign film with Kidman, switching from her southern U.S. accent to a hilariously accurate Australian impression.
“And she’s like, ‘But do you see that director?'” said Witherspoon, earning laughs from everyone, including Kidman. “‘I mean, it’s incredible. Reese, we must get her. We must!'”

You can’t keep these fly boys down. After Miles Teller starred and flew alongside Tom Cruise in “Top Gun Maverick,” the actor is getting back in a Navy uniform for a remake of the 1982 romance “An Officer and a Gentleman.”

“An Officer and a Gentleman” told the story of a young man going through the Naval Academy to complete his training as an aviation officer, only to get caught up in the headwinds of a whirlwind romance from a girl on the wrong side of the tracks and a tough Gunnery sergeant.

Based on the novel by Liane Moriarty, Big Little Lies was a massive hit for HBO when it first came out. Although it was initially labeled as a miniseries, the series was renewed for a second season, which was based on a novella written by Moriarty. The black comedy-drama featured a star-filled cast led by Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz as the five women who get caught up in a murder investigation in California. They were joined by Meryl Streep in the second season, with supporting roles played by Alexander Skarsgård, Adam Scott, James Tupper, Jeffrey Nordling, Kathryn Newton, and Iain Armitage.
And while the series supposedly ended with Season 2, Kidman hinted, in November 2023, that a third season would be made and this has officially been confirmed by Kidman and Witherspoon in a talk the two actresses had with Vanity Fair.

The long-rumoured Big Little Lies season 3 seems to be happening according to Nicole Kidman. More details below.
It’s been a while since we last saw the ladies of Monterey. The Monterey Five, played by Resse Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Zoë Kravitz and Laura Dern, were still reeling from the intense murder investigation they faced in season two of the HBO hit show in 2019. It now looks as though Big Little Lies season 3 really will happen.
Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon got together for a chat for Vanity Fair and the talk quickly turned to Big Little Lies. Witherspoon revealed that Kidman had called her to ask if Big Little Lies season 3 was happening and had apparently also rang all her co-stars. No new season was in the works at the time.

“But we are now!” Kidman revealed. “We’re moving fast and furious, and Liane [Moriarty, writer of...

Following two days of star-studded conversations about climate change, Hillary Clinton closed out the Environmental Media Association Impact Summit on Wednesday with a chat about kids and the planet — and a dig at Donald Trump’s recent guilty verdicts.
Clinton joined showrunner Gloria Calderón Kellett and Good Energy founder Anna Jane Joyner at the Pendry West Hollywood for a panel on how climate change is affecting children’s development. The Clinton Foundation is putting a particular focus on the issue via its Too Small to Fail program, and is pushing for it to be highlighted in Hollywood projects to increase awareness.
“There’s been a lot of really, really great efforts to convince people about climate change and a lot of really dramatic information and even dramatic movies about the consequences that we are facing,” Clinton told the crowd. “And so we know that part of the message of kind...

“It’s all about high and low,” exclaimed Michael Kors. “It always has been. Isn’t that what fashion’s all about?”
Tucked into a leather-lined booth in an elegant dining room replete with ivory flowers, passed trays of rosé champagne, spicy tuna cones and caviar handed out by handsome tux-ed waiters, he peered out into the softly lit, glorious sea of ladies during cocktail hour — many boldface names — decked out in his classic slinky black and gold jersey numbers — and chuckled: “Nobody would believe we’re in Canters!”
That’s right: Canter’s Deli on Fairfax, the old school almost hundred-year-old hangout for neighborhood regulars by day, and late-night post-club hipsters by night. Known for bagels, pastrami sandwiches, fat fries and Dr. Brown’s soda, not for being a celebrity hotspot.
Excuse me?

The Divergent movies have arrived on Netflix, and fans can finally watch the journey of Shailene Woodley’s Tris Prior as she navigates the dystopian world where people are divided into factions. The first installment hit the big screen in 2014 and was followed by two more sequels.
Theo James, Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley in Insurgent / Lionsgate Films
Apparently, one actor who auditioned for the role of Tobias Eaton, aka Four, was initially rejected before joining the franchise for another part. In the end, he enjoyed being the antagonist rather than leading a failed franchise.
Miles Teller Shares Audition Story For Divergent
During his interview with Vulture, actor Miles Teller shared how he joined the Divergent movies. He revealed originally going for Four, but he failed to win the part.
I auditioned for Four originally and maybe, yeah, that would have been cool to do. But it’s nice to play against type.

Shailene Woodley is setting out to capture the power of women.
The “Big Little Lies” alum returns to novel-adaptation ensemble TV with “Three Women,” based on Lisa Taddeo’s bestselling book of the same name. Woodley plays Gia, a writer who is grieving the death of her family and sets out to interview three “ordinary” women to tell her their stories of love, life, and loss.
Those trio of women include Betty Gilpin, who plays a stuffy housewife who begins an affair, DeWanda Wise as a woman in an open marriage that quickly becomes a quadruple (one more than a thruple), and Gabrielle Creevy who stars as a student that gets entangled with her married English teacher.
The synopsis reads: Three women are on a crash course to radically overturn their lives. Lina (Gilpin), a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is a decade into a passionless marriage when she embarks on...

After the Harry Potter franchise concluded in 2011, the filmmakers attempted to fill the young adult movie niche. The new fashion of the 2010s became a series of teen dystopian movies, headed by The Hunger Games that was a huge success back in 2012.
Based on Suzanne Collins’ novels, it set the bar quite high for similar movie adaptations, however, the subsequent big screen versions of the hyped bestsellers clearly lacked its wholesomeness. These include the 2014 sci-fi action flick that followed in Thg’s footsteps.
Set in post-apocalyptic America, the movie centers on Tris, a 16-year-old girl whose fate is about to be decided. The point is the new dystopian society is divided into four factions based on human virtues: Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless, and Erudite.
Born and raised as a member of Abnegation, Tris should choose which faction is going to be her new home, but before that she is warned...

Adam Driver has had a very interesting career in the industry starting with her supporting roles in the 2010s. After his on-screen debut in Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, the actor continued improving himself with his supporting performances in Girls, Lincoln, Frances Ha, and Inside Lleywn Davis. The actor has now become a great leading man in dramas as well as blockbusters.
Adam Driver as Neil in Gayby | Wolfe Releasing
One of his most entertaining supporting roles was in the 2012 rom-com Gayby, where he played the role of Neil, the co-worker of Matthew Wilkas’s character. Neil is a comic book enthusiast, and he shares the sentiments of many Marvel fans who hated the infamous Spider-Man storyline One More Day and how it ruined many arcs up to that point.

The perils and plights of adolescence have long been a source of fascination for television audiences. That’s particularly apparent nowadays with Netflix, HBO, Hulu, Showtime, FX, and others vying for zeitgeist dominance with teen-focused dramas playing to a variety of creative strengths. As narratives have gotten more sophisticated overall across the TV landscape, it makes sense that the ways in which we look at stories about young people have also evolved. From “Never Have I Ever” to “Yellowjackets,” TV teens in 2023 are among some of the most rich ever written.

In the many Spider-Man films that have come out over the years, there is one that would take the award for being the most emotional. Andrew Garfield’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 absolutely wrecked fans of the character. On top of the exceptional acting, cast, and storyline, the final act of the movie was emotional, to say the least.
Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spider-Man
Few scenes in the MCU have had an effect as great as Gwen Stacy’s death in the final scenes of the film. The performance of the actors, the implication, and the significance of it have lasted to this very date. Though the film was released several days ago, it can now boast of an impressive critical score.
If back in 2014 you were completely blown away (like lots of others) by John Green’s book adaptation of the same name The Fault in Our Stars starring Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort, you’ve probably just found your next must-watch.
Now based on the 2017 novel, Turtles All the Way Down has just arrived on Max, but yet managed to get the highest rating that John Green’s adaptations ever received.
Starring Isabela Merced famous for her roles in movies like Dora and the Lost City of Gold or Madame Web, Turtles All the Way Down follows 16-year-old Aza Holmes who is trying to live her life to the fullest while also struggling with obsessive-compulsive disorder (Ocd).
