Tobey Maguire is reportedly taking a leaf out of Leonardo DiCaprio’s book in dating younger women. Maguire, now 49, was spotted with 20-year-old model and actress Lily Chee at Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July white party in the Hamptons. The internet is furious over the Spider-Man actor dating a girl 29 years younger than him.

Almost the entire entertainment industry was surprised to learn about Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore’s relationship. The 15-year age difference between the celebrities was a prominent topic of discussion among fans. Interestingly, Moore’s family dynamics also changed as daughter Rumer Willis became awkward on Kutcher’s inclusion.

Ashton Kutcher’s relationship with Demi Moore was a huge adjustment for their families. Things were made a bit more complicated when Moore’s daughter with Bruce Willis already had a strong celebrity crush on Kutcher.
How Rumer Willis reacted to Ashton Kutcher dating her mom Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher | Amanda Edwards/WireImage
Moore already had a full household by the time she was dating Ashton Kutcher. She and Willis shared three children in Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah Willis, with Rumer being the oldest. When Kutcher began seriously dating Moore, he felt prepared to take on the responsibilities of fatherhood.
“I was twenty-six, bearing the responsibility of an eight-year-old, a ten-year-old, and a twelve-year-old,” Kutcher once told Esquire. “That’s how some teen parents must experience their twenties.”
But fortunately, Kutcher asserted that he had no problems with kids back then. Which might’ve made taking on the responsibility of fatherhood a bit easier.

Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance focuses on a woman with a familiar problem. Elizabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore) is a former actress and contemporary fitness guru on the wrong side of 40 for the entertainment industry, who, as represented here by Harvey (Dennis Quaid), wants to replace her with the next hot young thing. Working in an ultra-blunt style, Fargeat boils Elizabeth’s world down to a few signifiers, among them: Elizabeth’s retro fitness show stands in for fleeting fame; Harvey, one of the broadest caricatures that cinema has offered, is the male chauvinist underbelly of Hollywood, befitting his namesake; and a billboard outside of Elizabeth’s sprawling apartment physicalizes her shifting place in the public.
One of Fargeat’s best symbols, worthy of Billy Wilder’s Sunset Boulevard, is the opening close-up of Sparkle’s Hollywood star as it’s installed and becomes just another bit of set dressing. A...

Hearties were thrilled when Kayla Wallace appeared as Fiona Miller in the Wcth Season 11 finale episode “Anything For Love.” Will she be returning for Season 12? The When Calls The Heart showrunner Lindsay Sturman, and show’s co-creator Brian Bird have an update on whether she will be back for another season.

At the beginning of Wcth Season 11, Hearties were disappointed that Fiona Miller was not back in Hope Valley. The actress Kayla Wallace was unable to film. That is because she had a conflict. She was scheduled to start filming the new Taylor Sheridan series Landman. Sheridan is the creator of the smash hit Yellowstone.
However, she managed to come back for Mei and Mike’s wedding. However, it was not assumed that the Hallmark series could get her.

Plot: In the mid-eighties, a group of young actors known for starring in movies like St Elmo’s Fire and The Breakfast Club became popularly known as The Brat Pack, but many members of that group felt the term torpedoed their careers.
Review: If you grew up in the eighties, you for sure knew what the name “The Brat Pack” meant. I was born in ’81 and only watched the movies this gang was known for in the nineties, but if you had asked me as a kid who was in The Brat Pack, I probably still would have been able to list them off by name. There was Emilio Estevez (a recent Wtf Happened to this Celebrity pick), Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore, Anthony Michael Hall, Ally Sheedy, and Andrew McCarthy. Some of them became enduring stars, and some didn’t. For those whose fame perhaps didn’t endure beyond the eighties,...

Two 80s teen dramas, The Breakfast Club and St Elmo’s Fire, made overnight stars of a band of young actors including Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore and Rob Lowe – and Andrew McCarthy, whose new documentary looks back on those years
Depending on your age, Andrew McCarthy’s Brats will either be a cosy nostalgia trip or a window into another era of celebrity. As someone who was two years old at their zenith, I’ve only ever known the Brat Pack as a past buzzword: a gaggle of then-young American actors who became a collective cultural phenomenon before just as quickly dispersing into a very different array of career fortunes. To look back on that now, as McCarthy’s documentary does, is to learn more about 80s-era media and publicity machinery than anything particularly crucial about American cinema.
The Brat Pack was defined in 1985 by a pair of coming-of-age films, The Breakfast Club...

Angelina Jolie and Denzel Washington were two of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood during the turn of the century, and it might be a puzzle for many fans how both of them landed on a mid-budget crime thriller movie. Director Phillip Noyce specifically picked Jolie and Washington for 1999’s The Bone Collector, but they weren’t the first choices.

My guest on 20 Questions this week is Anthony Michael Hall.
In his latest film, Trigger Warning, which is streaming on Netflix, Hall stars as a gang-boss villain opposite Jessica Alba’s Special Forces commander character as she sets out to investigate her father’s untimely death.
Hall shot to fame in the 1980s as a part of the fabled “Brat Pack,” starring in such films as National Lampoon’s Vacation, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Weird Science when he was only a teenager. When the term “Brat Pack” appeared in a 1985 New York magazine story by journalist David Blum, with Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Judd Nelson on the issue’s cover, Hall fell under that label’s umbrella with a group that included Andrew McCarthy, Molly Ringwald, Demi Moore and Ally Sheedy.

Diane Kruger had all eyes on her at the third annual Vogue World fashion event in Paris on Sunday, June 23. Given the magnitude of the fashion event, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Kruger, whose style and glamour have won over many admirers. And just as expected, she delivered.
She was joined on the red carpet by her fiancé, Norman Reedus, who dressed in his typical cool, laid-back style. He paired a black short-sleeved shirt with black trousers and oxford shoes.

Demi Moore has caused a storm on her Instagram by posting stunning snaps of herself in a plunging dress. Sharing balcony and partying photos as she flaunted her age-defying good looks in May, the 61-year-old looked closer to 40 as she modeled a slinky, eye-popping gown, one sparking drama in the comments as a fan told her to dress her "age." While the comment sparked a wave of supportive responses as users backed the Indecent Proposal star, the post otherwise proved popular, earning Demi over 260,000 likes. She even gained celebrity love from talk show host Kelly Ripa and sitcom star Jennifer Aniston.

Andrew McCarthy’s new Hulu documentary Brats has drawn enough interest for Sony to revisit one of the defining Brat Pack movies. According to Deadline, the studio is “exploring the possibility” of a St. Elmo’s Fire sequel.
Making the film would reportedly “hinge” on reuniting the original cast, featuring McCarthy, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham.
Deadline emphasizes the potential sequel is in the “very early going” and doesn’t even have a script yet.
Co-written and directed by the late Joel Schumacher, St. Elmo’s Fire was released in 1985 and centered around a group of recent Georgetown University graduates as they struggle with the responsibilities of adulthood. It was a surprise hit, grossing $37.8 million on a $10 million budget.
This isn’t the first attempt at revisiting St. Elmo’s Fire in recent years. NBC began developing a TV series in 2019, but the network...

Is the Brat Pack coming back? According to Deadline, Sony wants to rekindle the flame for a St Elmo’s Fire sequel if primary cast members are willing to return. While Sony is ready with wallet in hand to strike a deal, the proposed project depends on the participation of Andrew McCarthy, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, and Mare Winningham.
The coming-of-age romance drama focuses on a group of friends fresh out of college and looking to start their lives as adults. Xennials connected with St. Elmo’s Fire significantly, especially in the face of an ever-changing world and the pressure to carry the generational torch for Generation X. In addition to being one of Joel Schumacher’s cinematic gems, St. Elmo’s Fire boasts a legendary soundtrack with artists like John Parr, Billy Squire, David Foster, Fee Waybill, Jon Anderson, Vikki Moss, and Airplay contributing one banger after another.

Exclusive: Andrew McCarthy’s Hulu documentary Brats has brought back memories of the coming-of-age film where the term “Brat Pack” was coined. Deadline can reveal that Sony is exploring the possibility of making a new version of St. Elmo’s Fire. This version would hinge on reuniting original cast members McCarthy, Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy and Mare Winningham.
The 1985 film that the late Joel Schumacher directed and co-wrote with Carl Kurlander, focused on that transitional period between college and the pressures of finding jobs and starting lives. It was a surprise summer hit with a hugely successful soundtrack. The follow-up would capture the characters as they’ve come out the other end of all that.
Movies get remade all the time, with concepts resuscitated and roles populated by younger actors, but to me this sounds a far more interesting way to reconnect with the original movie.

The release of Andrew McCarthy’s Hulu documentary ‘Brats’ has sparked renewed interest in the Brat Pack—that group of young actors who starred in several iconic teen movies of the 1980s, like 'Pretty in Pink,' 'Sixteen Candles,' and 'The Breakfast Club.'
Those films often featured different configurations of Brat Pack members on screen—like Ally Sheedy, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, and Molly Ringwald—creating a web of connections between the actors. To visualize these relationships, one passionate fan has used IMDb data to create a diagram of the Brat Pack’s movie connections. Taking it a step further, the interactive visualization also connects the Brat Pack with two other groups of actors: the Rat Pack of the 1960s (Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, and others), and the Frat Pack of the 1990s (Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, and more comedic actors).
As part of its partnership with analytics platform Tableau, IMDb is sharing a huge movie dataset, allowing Tableau users to explore, create, and share data visualizations and infographics. In his visualization “Packs,” Zach Bowders has displayed the films of all three groups of actors to show their connections within their respective Packs, and how they connect to the other cohorts. According to Bowders, “Molly Ringwald is the key to everything.” Did you know she starred in films with members of both the Rat Pack (Joey Bishop in ‘Betsy’s Wedding’) and the Frat Pack (Ben Stiller in ‘Fresh Horses’)?

Back in 1985, Emilio Estevez and Andrew McCarthy shared the screen in the Joel Schumacher-directed coming-of-age film St. Elmo’s Fire, which was a box office hit that’s still remembered fondly to this day, even though the critical response wasn’t very positive. In the build-up to the release of that film, Estevez and McCarthy were set to co-star in another project, called Young Men with Unlimited Capital… but unfortunately, eighteen days before the release of St. Elmo’s Fire, New York Magazine published an article by David Blum in which Blum dubbed several of the hottest young actors of the day the Brat Pack. The actors mentioned in that article were shocked and offended by the Brat Pack label – so much that Estevez refused to do Young Men with Unlimited Capital with McCarthy, killing the project. Thirty-nine years later, the story of Young Men with Unlimited Capital has still never made it to the screen.

Editor’s Note: Journalist David Blum might have forever coined The Brat Pack era, but it was Carl Kurlander who provided the reason the infamous New York magazine article got written. St. Elmo’s Fire was a script Kurlander wrote with director Joel Schumacher, inspired by events in his life. Now an academic, Kurlander has written several guest columns for Deadline including a 35th anniversary remembrance of St. Elmo’s Fire. Why is he tapping again into those memories? He just watched Brats, the Hulu documentary that premiered at Tribeca Festival, directed by and starring Andrew McCarthy. He was part of the St. Elmo’s Fire ensemble that felt maligned by Blum’s article published the week before the film was released and became a surprise hit.
Here, Kurlander supplies some great dish — did you know Demi Moore’s drug demons almost forced Joel Schumacher to replace her with the young singer Madonna?...

For viewers of a certain age — or, perhaps more likely at this point, most ages — the term “Brat Pack” evokes nostalgia at its fondest. Movies like “The Breakfast Club” and “Pretty in Pink” remain rites of passage for teenagers coming of age nearly 40 years later, and few would argue that the 1980s didn’t represent a high-water mark for teen movies. For actual members of that coterie of actors, it’s a little more complicated.
That’s especially true of Andrew McCarthy, who remains so conflicted about the term coined by David Blum in his June 10, 1985 cover story for New York that he made a documentary about it (after earlier publishing a memoir entitled “Brat”). A core Brat Packer whose filmography is headlined by the likes of “Pretty in Pink” and “St. Elmo’s Fire,” McCarthy has more recently stepped behind the camera and directed episodes of “Orange Is the New Black” and “13 Reasons Why,...

Tallulah Willis, the 30-year-old actress and daughter of Hollywood stars Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, shared her powerful journey of healing from a skin-picking disorder known as dermatillomania or excoriation disorder.
Through a series of candid before-and-after photos shared on Instagram, Willis has opened up about the challenges she has faced and the progress she has made in managing this mental health condition.
Dermatillomania is a compulsive behavior that causes individuals to repeatedly pick, scratch or manipulate their skin, often resulting in significant damage and scarring. Willis’ vulnerability in sharing her experience has resonated with her followers, as she emphasized in her caption that “Healing doesn’t have to mean clear skin, and it doesn’t mean intrusive thoughts stop intruding, and it doesn’t mean you’re not gonna do it again. It’s small wins.”

FX’s anthology series “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans” may boast an illustrious cast that includes the likes of Naomi Watts, Tom Hollander, Demi Moore, Calista Flockhart, Diane Lane, and Treat Williams in his final performance, but for fellow cast member Chloë Sevigny, there was only one who made her feel like a shy kid again. Speaking with Josh Lucas for a conversation published in Vanity Fair, Sevigny praised all of her castmates and how accessible they were, but admitted one did leave her taken aback.
“I had met some of them socially, just out at events and whatnot, but most of them have daughters, which was interesting,” Sevigny said. “They’re a little older than me, a little my senior, but also I’m a die-hard fan of every one of them, especially Molly [Ringwald]. I was overtaken mostly by her, but they were all so warm and everybody was so open.

Demi Moore made instant headlines for her rather exposing malfunction last fall, going viral for Fashion Week photos that showed her sheer, braless dress slipping out of place. In September 2023, the 61-year-old turned heads at the Saint Laurent Show in Paris, France, looking every inch the Hollywood starlet in a show-stopping, all-black look. Proving that there's no age limit on rocking the braless trend, Demi stunned in her see-through dress and massive dark shades, however the moment seeing opaque parts of the dress shift to show some chest was caught on camera. The internet was not kind to the Indecent Proposal star.

Rumer Willis plans to celebrate Father’s Day with her beloved father, the iconic Die Hard star Bruce Willis.
Willis shared her family’s plans to honor the 69-year-old actor as he continues his courageous battle with dementia.
“I’m sure we’ll go over there,” Willis told The New York Post. “Father’s Day is such a special one for me. And I feel like since we were little kids, you know, we’ve always done special things for our parents. Mother’s Day or Father’s Day.”
“One of the things I love most about my family is how much we all come together to celebrate on Mother’s Day,” she added. “All the girls got together at my mom’s house, and I’m sure we’ll do something similar for Father’s Day.”

The 1980s yielded a cache of iconic young actors who took Hollywood by storm, prominently featuring in films that shaped a generation. This group, later known as the Brat Pack, encompassed talents like Andrew McCarthy, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, and Ally Sheedy. The Era Defining Films Andrew McCarthy’s documentary Brats, released on June 13, aims to navigate through his experiences and the legacy of this group. It’s a reflective work on how films like The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink defined the era. These movies repeatedly portrayed high school struggles, mirroring global youth experiences. As...

What to make of Brats? On one hand, the documentary appears to be the result of one individual’s own unresolved issues. To describe it poorly, back in the eighties, one Andrew McCarthy got really miffed by an article written by David Bloom. After all these years, Andrew still seems to have it out for David, and he’s now out there to get the journalist. That said, Brats is extremely watchable from the opening minutes. It’s fantastically made, and it almost works in a more cinematic manner than a documentary. Of course, it is particularly appealing if you really have a thing for American pop culture of the eighties, more specifically the teen movies of that era. We’re going to do some introspection here before discussing the ending of Brats, where Andrew McCarthy and David Bloom finally come face-to-face.

Thanks to a journalist that coined the moniker the Brat Pack, a specific group of superstar actors dominated popular culture in the 1980s with the films they made. While there isn’t an official list of who is considered a member of the famous group, actors and actresses associated with the name include Ally Sheedye, Emilio Estevez, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe, Judd Nelson, Demi Moore, Anthony Michael Hall and Andrew McCarthy. Several other actors that appeared in films with that circle like Robert Downey Jr., John Cusack, Ben Stiller and more.
Andrew McCarthy’s Hulu documentary Brats reunited many of the famous faces who became part of the crew when a New York Magazine writer called them by the name in 1985. In honor of this documentary, which is now available to stream on Hulu, we’ve gathered nine Brat Pack films that are available to stream. Unfortunately, Oxford Blues (1984) and Wisdom (1986) are not currently streaming.

Our top pick for a movie awards contender to stream this weekend is “I Saw the TV Glow,” writer-director Jane Schoenbrun’s and producer Emma Stone’s buzzy A24 horror drama.
The film stars Justice Smith and Brigette Lundy-Paine as Owen and Maddy, suburban teenagers who bond over their love of a TV show called “The Pink Opaque,” which follows psychic teenagers Isabel and Tara as they battle monsters. Eventually, it becomes clear that they are Isabel and Tara, which freaks Owen out. The film is a surrealistic trans allegory with unique visuals and an excellent contemporary indie rock soundtrack that cements Schoenbrun as a filmmaker to watch. The cast also includes Danielle Deadwyler, Conner O’Malley, and Fred Durst. “I Saw the TV Glow” will be a darkhorse Oscar contender and a likely Independent Spirit Award nominee. It’s available on VOD now.

In 2015, Netflix acquired the indie horror film “Circle,” which saw 50 strangers trapped in a room and forced to decide who would be the one survivor through a series of votes and debates about the worth of each human life.
Nearly a decade later, with the “12 Angry Men”-inspired project having become something of a cult hit, two producers of the film have reunited to create a sequel, “Circles.” Per the official logline, “17 years after being pawns in a cruel game of psychological warfare, the survivors of an invasion face a new threat.”
Michael Nardelli, who starred in “Circle” as lone survivor Eric, and Brent Stiefel are re-teaming to produce the sequel. Devon Graye is writing the film, which is financed and entering production later this year.

The term Brat Pack might bring back cherished memories of the ’80s for many. However, it’s a label that Andrew McCarthy and his colleagues didn’t embrace warmly. In his new documentary, Brats, McCarthy explores this contentious nickname and its cultural impact. A Journey Through the Brat Pack Era The film offers a personal perspective, following McCarthy as he reflects on his roles in iconic films like Pretty in Pink and St. Elmo’s Fire. Everyone of a certain age has a core memory of the iconic “Brat Pack,” even those born after their heyday. But what about the group itself? On June 13, 2024, that is the question that Hulu’s “Brats” asks as actor and director Andrew McCarthy interviews fellow Brat Packers Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Ally Sheedy, Jon Cryer, Timothy Hutton and Lea Thompson.
Centering on 1980s films starring the “Brat Pack” and their profound impact on the young stars’ lives, “Brats” is certified fresh with a score of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. The term was notably coined by New York Magazine writer David Blum (it wasn’t a compliment), who was hoping to gain attention in the journalism world. And yes, he is confronted in the film. The weekend’s big theatrical release is Disney and Pixar’s ‘Inside Out 2,’ but if that’s not your cup of tea, there are some great choices to watch at home on all the major streaming services. Here are IMDb’s picks for the best things to stream this weekend.
“Presumed Innocent” on Apple TV+
If this legal thriller seems familiar to you it's probably because there have been many incarnations over the years, from Scott Turow's bestselling novel in 1987 and the 1990 box office hit starring Harrison Ford, to made-for-television sequels in 1992 and 2011. David E. Kelly and J.J. Abrams team up to bring an updated version to the screen with Jake Gyllenhaal taking on the role of Rusty Sabich, a prosecutor accused of murder. The miniseries premiered its first two episodes on Wednesday, with new episode dropping weekly.
“House of the Dragon” on Max
Time needed to be spent setting the table in the first season of “Game of Thrones” prequel series “House of the Dragon” to introduce the Targaryen ancestors and their complex family dynamics. The second season promises to deliver some fireworks, as the civil war between Rhaenyra Targaryen and her half-brother Aegon II takes center stage. An uptick in action and an abundance of dragons should help boost the show's popularity after a successful maiden launch. If there is any doubt in your mind whether to continue (or start) the series, know that there’s a just-announced third season in the works.
“Bridgerton” on Netflix
The final four episodes of Season 3 are streaming on Netflix, and will deliver on the promise of that Episode 4 cliffhanger and learn what follows after Colin’s proposal to Pen. As their slow-burn romance comes to a conclusion, “Bridgerton” fans are already speculating as to which characters will be in the spotlight for Season 4, which—based on the show’s production history—likely won’t arrive until 2026.
“The Boys” on Prime Video
Fans are eager to dive into Season 4 of “The Boys” this weekend, with the first three episodes now streaming. Newcomers Valorie Currie and Susan Heyward are the latest supes to jump into the fray (as Firecracker and Sister Sage, respectively), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (“The Walking Dead”) joins the cast as an old colleague of Butcher. Savor the show while it lasts; “The Boys” was just renewed for its fifth and final season.
‘Brats’ on Hulu
Andrew McCarthy directs this documentary about the group of young stars branded as the “Brat Pack” in the 1980s. McCarthy tracks down the Brat Pack cohort—which include himself, Molly Ringwald, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, and others—to reflect on the impact the label (and Hollywood) had on them. A must see for ‘80s kids, you can stream it on Hulu now.

At times, watching Brats is like watching a high school reunion, if the high schoolers in question frequented the Sunset Strip in the 1980s and the theater teacher was John Hughes.

It’s often hard to pinpoint the precise origin of a cultural phenomenon. The opposite is true when it comes to Hollywood’s Brat Pack. The catchy moniker that came to define the ’80s cineplex can be traced to June 10, 1985, when New York Magazine published a cover story pegged to the release of “St. Elmo’s Fire.” The piece, written by David Blum, followed three of the film’s stars — Emilio Estevez, Rob Lowe and Judd Nelson — over several nights of heavy boozing and douchey antics, like ogling Playmates, encouraging groupies and trash-talking their rivals. Blum dubbed the group of young movie stars the “Brat Pack,” a phrase still recognizable four decades later.

The Brat Pack was a group of young actors who rose to fame in movies such as Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo’s Fire, and The Breakfast Club. In the documentary Brats, filmmaker Andrew McCarthy spoke to this group of celebrities, whose lives were forever changed by the title. However, one of its most recognizable faces, Molly Ringwald didn’t appear in the film. Here’s why.
Why didn’t Molly Ringwald appear in ‘Brats?’
The documentary Brats looks back at the “Brat Pack” moniker and its impact on a select group of actors. It explores the narrative that took hold of their lives once the phrase was coined.
However, one of the era’s biggest stars was conspicuously absent from those who appeared in the documentary; Molly Ringwald. She was the star of Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and The Breakfast Club and an icon for millions of movie fans worldwide.
