Triple threat celebrities can sing, dance and act, but the quadruple threat of an Egot winner, or someone who holds at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony, is another thing entirely.
Some have achieved non-competitive Egot status through honorary awards such as Barbara Streisand with her special Tony, Liza Minnelli with her Grammy Legend Award, James Earl Jones with his Academy Honorary Award, Harry Belafonte with his Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and Quincy Jones and Frank Marshall.

Several names on this list have also earned various awards for producing certain works rather than starring in them, and many more are composers whose songs have gained acclaim to be awarded across the different categories.

The View struck a very somber tone during Monday’s (July 15) hot topics segment. Right at the top of the hour, the co-hosts — Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin, and Alyssa Farah Griffin (Whoopi Goldberg was still out for health reasons) — addressed the weekend’s fatal incident of political violence at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday (July 13) night. In response to the shooting, which injured Trump’s ear and caused the death of one rallygoer and two other injuries, all five View panelists took a moment to decry political violence as a whole. “It was a very disturbing weekend,” Behar explained before showing footage of the shooting attack. “President Biden spoke about it from the Oval Office last night … I think we all agree with Biden, and Trump said he’s rewriting his RNC speech to call for unity also. So they’re both trying to lower the temperature.

Whoopi Goldberg admitted she broke Disney’s cardinal rule. This is shocking since she works for ABC, part of Disney Entertainment, a division of The Walt Disney Company. Whoopi has a long-running relationship with Disney.
In 1994, she voiced Shenzi in the Disney animated film The Lion King. She returned to the character in the 2004 midquel The Lion King1 1/2. Whoopi also voiced Miss Mittens in Snow Buddies and Stretch in the Disney/Pixar film Toy Story 3.
She recently shared one of the cardinal rules she broke in an interview with Seth Meyers. Keep on reading to learn more.

The Big Brother 26 cast takes over primetime this summer on CBS, and fans want to know who is playing the game this time.
During older seasons, the houseguests would be revealed around a week before the first episode. It created buzz and it let fans familiarize themselves with the players.
But with the newer seasons, the producers have been holding back the cast lists until right before the first episode airs.
Not knowing the players when the season premiere arrives in a few days, many Big Brother fans have taken to social media to share their frustrations.
It’s particularly difficult when the show doesn’t come out and announce exactly when it will happen, leading to the hope that a cast list could drop at any moment.
What we do know is that the players have been selected, they have been sequestered, and the media blitz will happen in...

When Skydance Media and Paramount Global executives outlined their plans for the merged company to investors on July 8, they showed a series of slides. One of them highlighted Skydance’s story and was entitled “Animation, Sports and Games Divisions Drive Growth.”
In fact, those are three key areas that management also sees as core upside opportunities for the combined company. After all, Skydance Games will add a key entertainment growth area to the Paramount story, while the merged firm’s scale in animation and sports will be boosted.
Of course, there are the plans for $2 billion in cost savings, the potential to benefit from a reworked streaming strategy (with the expectation of a partnership for Paramount+), and the increased focus on being a creator-friendly entertainment juggernaut.
But below, The Hollywood Reporter is taking a closer look at the three businesses of gaming, animation and sports and why they are particularly...

Benji Gregory, the former child actor who starred in the 1980s sitcom Alf, passed away at 46.
His sister, Rebecca Hertzberg-Pfaffinger, confirmed to the New York Times that Gregory and his service dog were found dead in his car on June 13 in a bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona.
The family suspects he died from vehicular heatstroke, although the official cause of death is still pending an investigation.
Hertzberg-Pfaffinger described Gregory as a wonderful son, brother, and uncle in a heartfelt Facebook post on Wednesday.
“He was fun to be around and made us laugh quite often. Still, going through his things, I find myself laughing at little videos or notes of his, in between crying,” she wrote.
Arizona was experiencing a severe heatwave at the time of his death, with temperatures reaching 108 degrees on June 12 and 111 degrees on June 13.

The View moderator Whoopi Goldberg missed today’s episode of the ABC daytime talk show after testing positive for Covid, cohost Joy Behar announced at the top of the live broadcast.
“You might have noticed Whoopi is not here,” said Behar, “because Whoopi has tested positive for Covid. You know, it’s going around still. So you have to be careful!” (Goldberg appeared later in today’s episode during a pre-taped interview with The Boys‘ Antony Starr).
Goldberg’s latest bout with Covid appears to be her fourth. In September 2023, she addressed her third run-in with the coronavirus by sending a video message to the show. “In spite of everything you’ve heard,” she said at the time, “I am not at Burning Man, I am not still in Italy, I am not trying to change the outcome of the election, I just have Covid.”

It’s been a year full of surprises for the ladies of The View, and the latest is this: Whoopi Goldberg was unexpectedly absent from Thursday’s (July 11) show due to a positive Covid-19 test result. Co-host Joy Behar made an announcement at the top of the episode, saying, “You might have noticed Whoopi’s not here because Whoopi has tested positive for Covid.” “It’s going around still, so you have to be careful,” Behar continued. “It’s a summer surge.” Goldberg was present throughout the week’s previous episodes, delivering several fiery addresses on the matter of the upcoming presidential election in which she continued to insist that viewers should engage with the process and vote for their own good. For example, on Wednesday’s show, she said, “There’s a lot at risk [if Trump gets elected]. There’s a lot at risk and young people, old people, doesn’t matter.

As one of the younger women on The View’s panel, Sara Haines almost always receives compliments from her fans about her appearance.
Sara’s recent interaction on Instagram sharing a video had fans noticing something that looked off to them.
Fans have quickly pointed out how they feel when Sara changes things lately, especially since they were not fans of a recent hair change.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, when Sara showed up to The View wearing curls, she looked too much like the waif from the musical Annie for their tastes.
Sara shared a video on Instagram about loving the body you have, but something fans thought she added too much of had them commenting.
The Instagram post was captioned “A therapy lesson for your feed,” but fans thought Sara might need a lesson herself.

Actor Michael Douglas, a longtime supporter of Joe Biden who hosted a Hollywood fundraiser for the president in April, said on The View today that he is “deeply, deeply concerned” about Biden’s prospects in light of the recent debate.
Asked to comment on George Clooney’s New York Times op-ed calling for Biden to step aside, Douglas said, “I think it’s a valid point. I’m deeply, deeply concerned. I mean, especially it’s difficult because the Democrats have a big bench, they’ve got a lot of heavy hitters, a lot of talent. And I do worry because with the debate…I mean, it was relatively simple: First of all, they should have just told the president to stand up, put a little make up on for the debate and then where to look, and just don’t deal with all of your facts – just deal with [Trump’s] lies.

Joy Behar wasn’t present on Monday’s edition of The View to weigh in on the continued contentious discussions about Joe Biden’s fitness to run for a second term as president, but she came in with some fire in the first “Hot Topics” segment on Tuesday (July 9). After Whoopi Goldberg introduced clips of some of the late-night coverage of the continued post-debate conversation about some Democrats wanting the incumbent to step down before the DNC convention, Behar said her fervent piece. “I wasn’t here yesterday, so I was watching television all week, and I’m a little tired of all the Biden bashing that’s going on. It’s I’m pissed off at it. There’s a lot of Biden bashing going on and no calls for the sexually abusive felon to step down,” Behar said. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, the show’s resident conservative voice...

Pointing to large crowds at weekend rallies in battleground states across the U.S., President Joe Biden laughed off the notion that he is seriously ill and pushed back against naysayers across the political and entertainment industries calling for him to step down from the Democratic presidential ticket, assuring all that he’s “not going anywhere” on a defiant phone call to MSNBC on Monday.
The offensive from the Biden campaign comes after his disastrous performance at the first presidential debate on June 27 and uninterrupted and unedited interview on Friday with ABC News, which did little to assuage fears of not only the incumbent losing the presidency to presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump but also that a red wave would hand Republicans the Senate and House.
“The bottom line here is that we’re not going anywhere,” an energized Biden said on the phone call into Morning Joe, where he...

There was nothing going on in terms of American or international politics over the last few weeks that late-night would have gotten its teeth into, right?
The majority of late-night hosts were enjoyed some time off over the last couple of weeks, but the likes of Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Fallon are back in the studio and ready to dig into the news of the day.
Will they find time to discuss the state of the U.S. Presidential Election, President Biden’s debate performance and the subsequent calls for him to exit the race and former President Trump’s own debate performance, his ties to Project 2025 and his search for a Vice President?

Daytime TV’s most vocal cohosts have spoken about whether incumbent President Joe Biden should remain in the 2024 presidential race against Donald Trump in the wake of Biden’s first debate performance… and things got a bit intense as The View stars shared their differing takes on the matter. On Monday’s (June 8) episode, cohosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin discussed Biden’s decision to remain in the race after the debate, along with his subsequent media appearances on ABC News on Friday and Morning Joe on Monday. Goldberg, for one, thought all the discussions of Biden’s age and related gaffes were beside the point entirely, saying, “I don’t care if he’s pooped his pants. I don’t care if he can’t put a sentence together. Show me he can’t do the job, and then I’ll say,...

Whoopi Goldberg is questioning her friendship with Joy Behar. She admitted that she felt rejected by her. Whoopi was shocked by a comment that Joy made. Keep reading to learn more.
Did Joy Behar Reject Whoopi Goldberg?
The View is currently on hiatus. But there’s still plenty of drama with the ladies on the show. Whoopi Goldberg feels slighted by Joy Behar whenever she makes an off-color remark about their friendship.
In a previous segment, Joy admitted being “happy” to be fired from The View. The producers gave her the pink slip in 2013, but let her return later. Joy wasn’t sad about her exit. She felt like it was freeing.
“I always have a best,” Joy said before adding, “I always have best friends where I work and if I don’t have friends at the job, I will not keep the job.”
Joy Behar explained her firing from the show.

Fans of The View historically hate it when the show is on hiatus and shows reruns, especially during an election year.
With many vital issues happening daily in America, The View fans want to see what Whoopi Goldberg or Sara Haines will say about them.
The View went on hiatus without warning, and fans got upset, as Monsters and Critics reported. The consensus is that The View should give better warning when they air repeat episodes.
Exciting news is ahead for fans of The View who had to watch previously recorded episodes of outdated news for the week.
The View shared an Independence Day post with fans asking again when the show would return from vacation in the comments.
The crew at The View shared a post captioned, “From all of us at #TheView, we wish you a happy 4th of July!”

The Big Bang Theory catapulted its cast into global stardom, but along with acclaim came unwelcome scrutiny into their private lives. One cast member who bore the brunt of this attention after the show’s success was Johnny Galecki.

Typically, when a star has a new movie coming out, they promote it as much as possible. But Whoopi Goldberg once did the exact opposite, taking legal action to prevent one of her movies from ever reaching theaters. And somehow it wasn’t the movie where she solves crimes with the help of a talking dinosaur.
Back in 1988, Goldberg starred in The Telephone, an experimental dramedy about an out-of-work actress who spends most of her time holed up in a small apartment making phone calls. It’s kind of like an avant-garde theater piece (specifically Jean Cocteau’s The Human Voice) crossed with a Bob Newhart routine — but not as good as that makes it sound.
Weirdly enough, The Telephone was the only film ever directed by actor Rip Torn, of The Larry Sanders Show, Men in Black and drunkenly breaking into a bank that one time fame. And it...

Even though The View hosts don’t always agree, there is a level of respect they show one another. However, Whoopi Goldberg is blindsided by a comment from Joy Behar that makes her feel rejected.
Whoopi Goldberg Questions Her Relationship With Joy Behar
Since The View isn’t showing new episodes this week, some of the old dirt is coming back up. But the ladies are resting and recouping while the network gives fans a few reruns to keep them tided over until they come back. Undeniably, the table is fairly open about speaking their minds. Most of the time, they will set aside any disagreements and accept they have differing opinions. However, Whoopi Goldberg gets a shot to the heart when Joy Behar freely makes an offhanded comment about their relationship.

Deal or No Deal Island fans are rushing to console Claudia Jordan after she posted upsetting news for her and her followers on social media.
Fans will remember that Claudia Jordan was brought in as a contestant for the Deal or No Deal spin-off, Deal or No Deal Island, in Season 1.
She is famously known as a “briefcase” girl in the original series, and perhaps producers thought she would bring continuity to the fans for the new Deal or No Deal Island.
Fans were sad to see her exit the show early on and turned their eyes to their equally beloved Boston Rob Mariano, who helped keep them interested until the final episode.
Claudia has other jobs besides Deal or No Deal Island since eating and keeping a roof over one’s head are essential, but unfortunately, one of her side gigs has ended.

Whoopi Goldberg is adding fuel to her cannabis business.
Later this month, the Egot winner and veteran host on The View will officially bring to market two cannabis brands under her WhoopFam umbrella. The first, Emma & Clyde, is expanding after an earlier launch in 2022 and a limited run in Arizona. Named after Goldberg’s late mother and brother, Emma & Clyde will be available in select stores in California, Arizona and Ohio with offerings designed for both medical and recreational users across categories like edibles, pre-rolls, flowers and accessories.
The second launch marks the return of Goldberg’s Whoopi & Maya brand. That line of products — launched in 2016 and shuttered less than four years later when Goldberg and business partner Maya Elisabeth parted ways due to a reported rift — focused on providing menstrual relief as well as general pain relief and overall holistic wellness through topicals, edibles and bath salts. Per the WhoopFam website,...

Let me get this out of the way first. Tony Goldwin’s Ezra can be perceived in two distinctly different ways. You may take it as a story of a well-meaning but reckless father endangering his autistic son by kidnapping him. Or you can see it as a desperate father trying his best to save his son from the big bad world. The film leans very much towards the latter; but it also doesn’t totally dismiss the other one. That has a lot to do with the fact that Ezra stems from its writer Tony Spiridakis’ own life experience in bringing up his autistic son and also the ending of his marriage. This has brought a certain gravitas to the screenplay. There was every chance of Ezra ending up overly sentimental, given the history of the portrayal of autism in cinema hasn’t been particularly great. I’m not...

Naturally, when The View started on Monday morning, fans were quick to pick out that it was a rerun from a past episode. Furthermore, fans are wondering why new episodes aren’t airing and when the table will return with new topics.
The View Needs A Break In The Aftermath Of The Presidential Debate
Although The View is popular for its open discussion on hot topics, fans are noticing this week is kicking off with old “hot topics” as the show continues with reruns. Undeniably, the table is most likely still in an uproar over the aftermath of watching the latest presidential debates between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. While Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin were in shock, they held a post-debate discussion.

Between the Presidential Debate and the latest Supreme Court decisions, there’s no shortage of news for the hosts of The View to discuss. As of Monday, July 1, The View is taking a one-week break. The series is set to return with new episodes on Monday, July 8, giving hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin some time off from giving their takes on the latest heavy-hitting and lighter news. On Wednesday’s episode of ‘The View’, Sara Haines demonstrated the impact of melatonin in a memorable act. Known for its engaging discussions, ‘The View’ took a dramatic turn when Whoopi Goldberg introduced a segment about a woman secretly adding melatonin to her husband’s water to address his mental health problems. Sara Haines dramatically slumped in her chair as she enacted the consequences of taking melatonin. This skit left the audience amused and highlighted the absurdity of self-medicating without proper guidance. The segment sparked reactions from co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin, who commented, “Melatonin does not treat being manic, this is the...

Sara Haines was on The View this week and did something that concerned some fans. Usually, Sara is the voice that keeps the show moving, even when Whoopi Goldberg seems she would rather be talking about anything else. However, she did something this week that had fans commenting on her well-being.
Here is what Sara did and how fans reacted to the moment.
Sara Haines Disturbs Some The View Fans
The View started a new topic on the show this week where she was talking about a spouse secretly medicating her husband. This came from a The New York Times column, where a woman wrote in and revealed this predicament, and then she asked if she should tell the woman’s husband what his wife was doing.

Sara Haines has a history of being friendly and calm on The View, often keeping Whoopi Goldberg awake and interested in what the other ladies discuss.
Whoopi has a history of looking uninterested in some softer subjects the ladies discuss on The View, and Sara is always there to wake her up or bring her back to the discussion.
Sara is like the big sister everyone wants to have, one who is always there with a smile and eager to help out.
Lately, Sara has been acting differently, and fans are starting to notice and question if something is going on with the beloved co-host.
In one segment of The View regarding medicating a spouse without them knowing about it, Sara’s actions caused fans to speak out on Reddit.

Recently, The View host, Sunny Hostin, showed up with a shocking new look that disrupts the whole show. While they are discussing the topics, as usual, Joy Behar can’t move on without bringing up the elephant in the room.
Sunny Hostin Turns Heads
Although The View host, Joy Behar, is known to bring up issues in a blunt manner, her latest interaction catches Sunny Hostin off guard. However, to be honest, all of the co-hosts have an assertive manner about them. For instance, when Whoopi Goldberg called out Alyssa Farrah-Griffin for being pregnant on the show. Notably, none of the table tends to mince words when something is on their mind. On the Wednesday, June 26, show, Sunny is extremely impressive with her hot wing eating with Sean Evans from Hot Ones. But something else is turning up the heat…Sunny’s hair. In the latest episode, Sunny’s new look gets the ladies chatting.

What the hosts wear or how they do their hair seems more interesting lately than the constant political talk on The View.
The significant change Sunny Hostin debuted recently on The View certainly had fans commenting, and even the other ladies (like Joy Behar) had to stop to ask questions.
Recently, Sara Haines came on the show with a hairstyle that had fans comparing her to the little orphan “Annie” on social media.
The last time Sunny received this much attention over a change in her appearance, she looked like she was wearing pajamas on The View.
Fans started flooding social media with messages asking questions and sharing their feelings about the change Sunny Hostin asked her hairstylist, Matthew Yates, to create.
The change was so different from Sunny’s usual long, curly hair that even Joy Behar had to deviate from the topic they were discussing and ask Sunny a blunt question.

For years, The View host Whoopi Goldberg has always made a point of never saying Donald Trump‘s name on air, so when she accidentally name-dropped the former President, she reacted viscerally – and appeared to spit. On the Tuesday, June 25 broadcast of the talk show, the ABC co-hosts looked ahead to the upcoming debate between President Joe Biden and Trump – specifically the accusations that Biden has been using drugs to prepare for the event. The accusations have been promoted and spurred on by Trump both in speech and online. The White House denied Trump’s request for a drug test ahead of the upcoming debate scheduled for Thursday, June 27. Goldberg questioned if such “attacks” should even be taken so seriously. “I think it would be remiss of us to not say, Joe Biden knows how to do this. He knows how to do this, he’s quite good at this,...

Steven Spielberg is an acclaimed and multiple award-winning director in the movie industry. He made his theatrical debut in Hollywood with the 1974 movie, The Sugarland Express. But it took him just one more year to become a blockbuster director with his movie, Jaws. Since then, he has made numerous movies that have been critically as well as commercially successful. His movies have also earned him the title of the most commercially successful director in film history.

In the year 1985, Spielberg made a movie completely different from his usual blockbuster genre. Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Alice Walker, The Color Purple starred Whoopi Goldberg in the lead, alongside the likes of Danny Glover and Oprah Winfrey. Coincidentally, this was Oprah’s movie debut, which also went on to secure her, her first Oscar nomination.

With the first presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump taking place live on CNN this Thursday, June 27, political surrogates and spokespeople have been making the media rounds this week to promote their candidates’ positions and posturing in advance. One such got shut down in dramatic fashion Monday (June 24) morning when Trump campaign press secretary Karoline Leavitt repeatedly attacked the moderators, CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, as being “biased” against Trump, causing CNN This Morning anchor Kasie Hunt to cut her interview short. The View host Whoopi Goldberg introduced a clip of the exchange, which included Hunt insisting the two “have acquitted themselves as professionals as they have covered campaigns and interviewed candidates from all sides of the aisle,” and adding, “If you are attacking the moderators, you are usually losing.” Goldberg, for one, was positively giddy over the exchange when reviewing it in the “Hot Topics” segment of Monday’s episode,...

There are plenty of great Clint Eastwood movie moments in "Escape from Alcatraz," but it's not just the veteran star that made this a legendary prison break thriller. Directed by Don Siegel, the film was an adaptation of J. Campbell Bruce's 1963 non-fiction book of the same name, which chronicled the real-life June 1962 Alcatraz escape attempt. "Escape" also marked the fifth and final collaboration between the Siegel and Eastwood, and it's a fitting end to their fruitful working relationship. Still regarded as one of the finest films of the 1970s, "Escape" was met with widespread critical acclaim upon its 1979 release and its reputation hasn't faltered since.
Aside from the tight direction and excellent lead performance, the film also features stellar supporting performances from the likes of Patrick McGoohan, Fred Ward, Jack Thibeau, and Larry Hankin. What's more, it marked the film debut of Danny Glover, who of course went on...

Jonathan Majors was once on track to become Hollywood's next big thing, only for that to be derailed when he was convicted of domestic assault and harassment following an altercation with his then-girlfriend.
A New York judge decided that the Loki and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania star must complete a 52-week, in-person program in Los Angeles, but whether his career can ever rebound is another matter altogether.
He was recently cast in Martin Villeneuve's Merciless and we've heard rumblings that Magazine Dreams (which many believed would secure him an Oscar) will finally secure a release this summer. And, yesterday evening, Majors was honoured with the "Perseverance Award" at the annual Impact Awards.
"I'm imperfect. I have shortcomings - I acknowledge them," the actor said while fighting back tears in a lengthy acceptance speech which you can watch below. "Perseverance means what? Perseverance means persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay.
