We know Snake Eater the event took place in 1964, when Naked Snake (Big Boss) was 29 years old. However we all know MGS3 itself is a simulation of the events of Snake Eater (AKA 'SCENE') with Solid Snake experiencing the mission vicariously through Virtual Reality, hence the fourth wall breaking Time Paradox game overs and Campbell's presence in the dialogue and in Snake vs. Monkey.

My next important question is when does that simulation take place exactly? Sometime after MGS2 with Solid Snake having gone to the search the past for the Patriots after the post credits scene revealing the Patriots had all died "about a hundred years ago"?

Why does Campbell warn Snake of creating a time paradox. Is that actually the Colonel AI? But that wouldn't explain Campbell's familiarity with Snake in the Snake vs. Monkey minigame (no matter its canonicity, it at least implies the Campbell in the canon Time Paradox game over screens is the same one from MG2/MGS1 who appears in the minigame).

How does all this lead back into the cancelled plot for MGS4 that would have depicted Snake slowly battling the accelerated aging while going after the Patriots and Raiden rescuing Olga's child from them as debutee cyborg ninja? Was MGS3 the secret to discovering the location of JD in MGS4 with the Philosopher's Legacy?

Out of all the games MGS3 might make the LEAST amount of sense. I want to know when exactly Solid Snake entered the simulation and what events surround that decision.
