Unable to switch between disc 1 and 2: Dead Space 3

Hi

Apologies if this been asked b4 but couldn't find workaround on google.

Have reached mid point chapter 9 just after first fight with arachnid and game invites you to insert disk 2. When I do that and reload save it prompts you to insert disk 1. I naively assumed you have to go back to main menu before inserting disk 2 so maybe that's my problem. That said I don't know how to open the tray otherwise.
