Mario is the face of gaming, I'm pretty sure I don't have to say it, but the plumber has fallen on hard times since the 8th generation of gaming. Today, I will be sharing my Top 5 Mario Games! I won't include any massive crossovers, like Super Smash Bros. or fan made games. So kick back with some popcorn and enjoy the show!
#5 Super Mario Sunshine
I know about what is going on with the fans of Mario, saying that this game is the best or saying it should burn in Hell, but anyway, the game had great graphics for the time, the music as incredible, the addition of F.LU.D.D. brought more variety to the table, and the missions and levels were what made the game great. Although the game has its flaws, like the voice acting, the blue coins, and the absence of the long jump, but even with the flaws, I think the game is great, so I am giving Super Mario Sunshine the #5 spot.
#4 Paper Mario 2 (The Thousand Year Door)
You know this was coming. While I think Super Mario RPG is a good game, it just doesn't come to grips with this game. The graphics were very polished and great looking, the music just makes me want to get up and dance, the bosses and missions were incredibly creative, like storming a giant castle, or having your identity stolen by a ghost. The game has so many side missions like the Pit of 100 Trials, or helping those in need. The game is so great, I even went and replayed it. Three times! For these reasons, Paper Mario 2 takes the cake as the #4 best Mario game.
#3 Super Mario 64 DS
I bet you were shocked when you say this. This game is the original on shrooms. More stars, better music, better graphics, more characters, more variety, more EVERYTHING! This game was a great way to quench fans' thirst for a new Mario game on the DS. Need I say more?
#2 Mario Kart Wii
You have to admit this game is fantastic. The game play is fantastic with the addition of bikes, more characters, more tracks, more Wi-Fi abilities, better music, better graphics, oh my! The game just suffers from one major flaw in my opinion: the Wi-Fi. While the game does lag when I used to play online, it was also hard to find enough players even with the 11 player limit. Welcome to #2 MKWii.

The real #1 Super Mario 3D World
Oh my god! This game is perfect! The graphics, the music, the levels, the characters, the creativity, the only small problem I have is that the camera is a little messed up, but not that much. That is why SM3DW is the best Mario game ever!
