I won't be able to play CP2077 in earnest until Friday night. But, just a quickie.... It looks like a lot of things were fixed. The driving seems fine. So far, no glitches or bugs, at least up to the end of the first mission.

CP is a fucking good game. 100%’ed it when it came out, 185 hours. Now, I’m into it all over again. Going back through lots of stories and there are some really good twists depending on how you handle each one, and there are tons of them.

I hope they just keep working on the game for years and basically treat it like a mod project, or let mod makers have access the way Skyrim has given them access.

Fair warning I just learned how to send screenshots from the switch to smartphone so prepare for a whole host of gems like these

Hmm

Was hoping it would be easy to post Xbox screens too bad. Dead Space looks great. Just picture it….

That looks really good.
So long as the game is at least in Ultra settings and the player follows the gamma correction procedures. I had the gamma too light on the first set of screenshots.

Actually, I first made sure my monitor was calibrated correctly. Then, I went into the game and adjusted the gamma.

I've always been nitpicky about how nights should be dark and how available illumination affects it. I'm happy to see CP2077 being added to my list of games that pass.

@japekto , what kind of hardware do you have? The screenshots make me want to play CP2077 again, although I'll wait till the Phantom Liberty DLC.
I currently have Cyberpunk 2077 installed on the i3-12100/RX 6600. 1080p with freesync, Ultra with FSR 2.1 at Quality, sharpness at 0.5. I also made sure the gamma was set correctly, erring towards darker.

Sometimes, I also play at native 1080p. Although the framerates often drop into the upper 50's, the game continues to be more than playable.

Oh. No RT. I don't see enough of a return to keep RT enabled. Perhaps, if I have a much beefier PC. But, I'm happy with the above.

@PimpinCatfish how are the controls in it?
I remember they were kind of weird for the GC version.

Oh they’re standard fps controls in this one. Dual stick and the aiming controls feel tight. It’s much improved, and there are multiple control options for people who prefer other styles, for example motion controls

Never mind. Maybe I can turn down my capture settings so I can easily post screens.

Phantasy Star IV. Is it absurd to spoiler tag a 30 year old game? Maybe, but I will anyway.
We're off to a creepy start.

Like I said, kinda creepy.

The game kills a Ned Stark-level character early on, which is a tradition for the franchise. PSII did the same thing, all long before anyone ever heard of Aeris.

It also predicted the shape of modern video game controllers.

The game serves as the finale to a trilogy - PSI, PSII and PSIV. PSIII is almost entirely ignored, as it should be. It's a major weak link in the franchise. I love that they tie in IV with I and II so well. There are a ton of references to the earlier games, even in this final scene.

I played PSIV a couple weeks ago. I was kind of surprised when an insinuated prostitute offers to show the 16 year old main character a good time. It's not part of the story or anything, just some brief NPC dialogue.

I also snapped this. Can't get Switch screenshots to my phone for some reason so took a pic. I grew up playing badminton so know what a shuttlecock is. WTF are they even saying here? Is there a badminton minigame I missed?

Mandatory things for 90s JRPGs:

Sketchy dialogue
Someone sick in bed or dying
No real explanation for what spells and items do
Bad to no maps

Edit: Success! This is Troopa in Redfall holding an imaginary gun. Actually the gun was there, it just wasn't being rendered for whatever reason, so it looks like he's playing air guitar.

Let's see if this feels like working today. I'm guessing no. Tears of the Kingdom:

My Steam Deck stopped giving pop-up notifications when I take screen shots, so I wasn't sure if they were working or not. So I didn't take a ton while playing System Shock, but I got a few to share.
