SW 2 empires unique/ mount/ characters?

what do they mean by unique characters? i looked on gamefaqs and can't find what theyr mean by that. and i bought 2 mounts in empire mode and they dident appear in free mode. can you use mounts in free mode? and in CAW mode can you unlock and other character models such as a sumo, fire ninja, ETC.

If you're talking about something that is worth spending most of your day in unlocking, then it's the Most Valuable Retainer Acheivement, Four Guardians Acheivement, and Unlocking the Osaka Campaign.
