Throughout the now almost decades long years of being a DMC fan, I've always wanted a game where you can actually play as Sparda. But does that take away from the power behind him? Because he's ultimately a legend, told and characterized from item descriptions and boss info. We got a snippet of Eva in DMC1 with a photo and voice over and in 5 we actually get a cutscene with her. For Sparda all we got is a relaxing silhouette in DMC1 of him swinging a sword around and an unlockable skin but that's it.
I'm torn because he has so much power because we never really show him but I still want, at the same time, a story where you get to see his rise against Mundus, his relationship with Eva, and just who he was in general.
What do you think?
