One thing that was unique about MKDD is that it has different physics than any other Mario Kart game.

1 Mario Kart Wii (my 1st MK game)
2 MK8
3 MK7
4 MK DS

Shame to see the Wii version online shut down. The best Kart to me. MK8 has flash, but the tracks and roster for Wii were better.

Top 5 greatest Mario Karts off all time...

1. mario kart double dash
2. mario kart double dash
3. mario kart double dash
4. mario kart double dash
5. mario kart double dash

Best tracks by far (Wario colosseum is golden & Baby Park is pure chaos), best cast (Petey Piranha & King Boo, I mean sh*t), and two racers/items at the same time (offense & defense happenin' all at the same time). I'm waiting so anxiously for the day they release this game on the VC on WiiU (dammit nintendo, what's with your ridiculously slow roll-out of your back catalogue!?!)

But yeah, MK 7 & MKA were pretty sweet, too (I mean, I've owned & dug 'em all). You just can't touch that DD sweetness, IMO.

I thought MK Wii had some of the weakest original tracks (though to be fair, Wii's rainbow road was delightfully devilish). 8 has been fun in terms of the mechanics, but I'm not into coins as box-items and I can't think of one really stand-out original track design. 8's rainbow road has to be the tamest in the series so far.

Ok, rant over. Thank you.

Mario Kart Double Dash > all

It's not even a competition. Mario Kart Double Dash has an infinite amount of replay value when you have your friends over.

Nintendo really needs to make a sequel to Double Dash.

Kart on Wii is dead ass last...

DS kart is best because it has best track selection both new and classic..only 1 crap track in entire game....
double dash and kart 8 tied for 2nd though kart 8 could eventually become best with enough DLC
Kart 7 is next only held back by a few piss poor tracks.

1. 64 (I've not played in a while, perhaps a bias for nostalgia, but some really cool courses and I reckon it's got the best battle mode)
2. WiiU (Almost perfect graphics, some really cool characters, but some lame ones too; weak battle mode)
3. Wii (Twas' the best for online I reckon, weak battle mode)
4. DS (great game, I just don't like handhelds as much. Cool mission mode, don't know why that's not in other games)
5. DD (Cool for being different, but I don't like the way it plays as much. Cool special item for each duo, don't know why that's not in other games)
All great games. I've not played the others enough to properly rank em'.

This encapsulates so much of what I feel.

My personal list:

3. Mario Kart Double Dash!!
4. Super Mario Kart
5. Mario Kart 8
6. Mario Kart 7
7. Mario Kart Wii
No rank: Mario Kart Super Circuit*

Mario Kart DS made leaps and bounds for the series. First game to feature retro tracks and online play. It also featured Mission Mode which no other game has had, and I personally enjoyed it a lot. Not to mention the excellent tracks, both original and retro. Every game since then has felt like a step backward to me.

Mario Kart 7 in particular was a huge disappointment. Playing this one is fun when I play with my nephew, and the 3D is cool... but the tracks are so boring and it did not meet standards set by its handheld predecessor. That and the character roster was awful. Severely disappointing.

Mario Kart 8 would have ranked higher for me, if not for the terrible awful pitiful excuse for a battle mode, and poor character roster.

I never played Super Circuit so obviously I can't rate it. I didn't have a GBA :(

Best is def Double Dash on GC.
Worst by far is the DS version that came out pretty soon after DS was launched. Real mess...

as for others, cannot really say any of them has sparked my emotions.

DS wasn't a mess at all, but I doubt you've even played all 8 Mario Karts. If you had actually played all 8, you would have ranked DS above SNES and GBA.
