Question regarding Broken Witch Hearts

I just replayed through the game for my second time, and this time it was with the intention of getting all of the Witch Hearts and Moon Pearls.

I had no problem getting the moon pearls, but somehow, I only have one and a half life bars. I used a guide to ensure that I found them all, and I have the achievements for finding all of the chests and completing all of the alfheims.

It's currently set at 0/4 hearts in my inventory, which makes it even more puzzling. Am I missing something hear? Do you get additional pieces for completing the alfheims on hard, or something?

Like I said, I used a guide, so I can't imagine how I would have missed any at all, let alone enough to be missing half a bar.

It has been a while since I have played the game, but broken witch hearts are not always in chests. I would suggest looking around carefully for the remaining pieces. I know I had to find two pieces on Episode 8 (motorcycle stage), a stage that I thought at first would not contain any hidden items.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of strategy guide are you using?

So I was aware of the hearts in the motorcycle stage and the stage where you ride the missile.

I wonder if there may have been an issue with the saving, since I usually played through the whole level after getting the hearts. Maybe it reset them if I died, or something.

Either that, or there are more hearts than this guide suggests.

I remember the ones from the portals and the shop; some you also grab from broken pottery.
