Since when do you have to use the god awful view from behind the mound. I haven't played a game where I used that view since my super freaking Nintendo. Is it just at beginning or can you never change it.

It's in the options somewhere (I'm assuming - I have '12). Honestly I prefer that view but to each their own.
Go into into your settings.... You can change it to whatever view you want.
You have to go into "Mode Options" I think it's called, you can change the pitching view to whatever you would like.
