ORIGINAL Fable question (Buy All not working right?)

I'm pretty sure no one here still plays this old, old game, but I guess it's worth a shot. I dusted off that old case and popped the disk into my 360 today, and went about my business to make some starter gold - that is to say, I headed to Oakvale to do some inventory flipping. However, when I tried to buy all of the apples from the merchant at once, I found that he would charge me 4 gold a piece for them (the number in parenthesis) and not the lower quoted price of 1 gold each. I tried reloading my save but that didn't help. Is this part of the game broken now, or is there a way to fix it? =\

I really wish I could help you, but I no longer have the original...or at least have no idea where it is, so I can't even check to see what mine does....
