I recently bought Dark Cloud and I have fallen in love with it but I am at a bit of a snag.In Shipwreck at level 9 when I walk ruby up to the door and press the x button it says something about hitting R2 to change view and circle to cast spell. First ? is how do I get spells to cast and 2nd ? is how exactly do I use it to open door, do I hit R2 then circle or vice-versa. I have read something about using the gems that match color of crystal..red=fire,yellow=thund, so on and so forth.Is that the spell? I would greatly appreciate any help I can get. I would like to continue my journey.

Yes. Hold one of the L or R buttons to aim at the crystal. Then fire a attack from Ruby to the crystal. It should open up if your weapon is fire.
