just getting into punk- looking for some suggestions as to what to listen to. any help would be appreciated!

Choking Victim - No Gods, No Managers is essential. You might wanna start with older 70's stuff like Sex Pistols and the Clash, though. If you want hardcore start with Black Flag, Bad Brains, and Circle Jerks. Just use last.fm, google, or wikipedia after that to find new bands.

Id go with Misfits, Dead Kennedys, and like Rancid or the Descendents.
Super good but not very intimidating.
If your up too it though, Crass, Casualties, the Unseen, Conflict, SSD, Gang Green are also excellent.
