Need Help With Witch Time Ability

I just got Bayonetta for my 360 today and I made it up to the level where you finished fighting Jeanne. You walk on the wall to reach a door then you come up to one of those witch doors. As soon as I open it as soon as I move it the door shut me out then the words tell me to use temperal powers to continue. I tried using witch time but I can't get past the door what am I doing wrong?

There should be some statues near the doors you went in through. Activate them and a timer will start. Run back to the witch time door and then dodge the lighting at the last moment to activate witch time.

Shortly after I post this I found the statues and got past that part I was stuck on. But thank you for helping me.
