It is so much better, I should just be made commissioner today.
The universal DH (which is most likely coming in the next CBA) allows you to do a mass geographical realignment. So do 2 leagues, 4 divisions, with a balanced schedule. The 2 division winners in each league get a bye, there are 4 wild card teams (which pushes the total teams to 6) but they do the 1 game play in each. Or a double header where the road team has to sweep the double header to advance. But not 3 games series, that is too much time off for the division winners.
