Multiple broken weapons, no money.

I'm on the 2nd house. I have multiple broken weapons (which probably cost thousands to repair) and absolutely nothing left to sell. Blacksmith is open (but very expensive, repairing one weapon cleaned me out). Perhaps I'm seriously missing something (new to series). What can I do??? This makes no sense.
