Along with details about upcoming multiplayer title Nosgoth, additional information on the canceled Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun game have been posted online by NeoGAF user Mama Robotnik, showcasing the game's upgrade system and opening sequence.

Mama Robotnik located what appears to be four additional Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun concept videos on a portfolio site "listed under the Climax Games codename for the project while it was in development." The first video (posted below) shows the game's user interface and upgrades, including "morph kill" where body parts can morph into weapons; "wings," allowing players to glide; and "oil skin," where players become resistant to water.

The second video runs through the game's opening menu systems and sequence. The third and fourth videos continue to run through the game's opening sequence, apparently showing the growth stages of an embryonic vampire to adulthood.

The latest batch of Legacy of Kain images were located by Legacy of Kain Wiki user Aevum, who found the concept artwork by Flipbook Studio. Flipbook removed the images after finding they went public, but not before they were uploaded onto the Legacy of Kain Wiki and later posted on NeoGAF.

Last month, Mama Robotnik posted assets of ten cancelled Legacy of Kain games that had been in various states of production since the early 1990s. The most recent of the ten was Unreal Engine 3-based game called Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun, developed by Climax with Psyonix developing the game's multiplayer component 'War For Nosgoth.' Set after the events of the Legacy of Kain titles released between 1999 and 2003, the game was slated for release on consoles and Windows PC, yet was cancelled by Square Enix in 2012. Last month, Square Enix announced a multiplayer game set in the Legacy of Kain universe called Nosgoth.

Square Enix community manager Monkeythumbz, who verified the content of Mama Robotnik's original Dead Sun posts last month, has taken to the Eidos forums answering questions about the upcoming multiplayer. According to Monkeythumbz, Nosgoth is a "very violent" third-person, competitive online multiplayer game "with a bit of a twist." It currently runs on Windows PC, although "that may be expanded over time."

"Nosgoth will not be an MMORPG and Nosgoth doesn't look or play anything like Dota 2 or LoL," Monkeythumbz wrote. "While Nosgoth is unlike any other competitive online multiplayer game that I've played or am familiar with, the closest comparison is probably Unreal Championship 2. Not sure if Nosgoth is all that similar, but I suppose it's closer to that than a traditional LoK game, an MMO or a MOBA."
