Just saw Michael Cooper was selected for the Hall of Fame. Solid player with some big moments on one of the best teams assembled, but simply not a player that should be selected for the Hall.
At this point they might as well just make a category for entire teams because it’s getting silly to work your way down those rosters like this. Maybe they even did that for like the Dream Team. Just add Showtime Lakers and move on. Because if we’re talking about individual players, there are other players that lead teams that should be much better candidates than guys like Cooper.

Awards say a lot more about the people giving out the awards than the recipients and it’s becoming increasingly obvious that whoever is picking for the Hall of Fame either does not know how or does not care to have good or consistent system for tracking the best to play the game IMO.

Hollinger: Why the Basketball Hall's criteria and process need an overhaul
The selection of Michael Cooper, a good player but never an All-Star, is a prime example of how Ringz culture has dominated discussion.
