I'm feeling bored and I'm in a Mario Kart mood today, so I'm going to share some ideas that I came up with myself. Feel free to share your opinion and your ideas. This is also my first post on this website.

Boo Bayou - Boo Bayou is a haunted themed race track that takes place near a broken boardwalk in a lake. You also drive past a swamp and end up racing on the boardwalk. Some pieces are still intact which leads to the main path and others are half way or fully submerged in the lake. The halfway pieces can be used as ramps to perform tricks and acts like a shortcut.

Hazards: Boos, Scuttlebugs, Jack O Goombas

Inspiration: Mario ghost levels, Ghost Bayou (the final level of Pac Man World 2)

---------------------------------------------

Windmill Village - A village with windmills. Need to say more? It also takes place in a medieval-like place with a castle. Heck, you even drive in the castle that has moving boost tiles which leads to a ramp over a lake. If you fail to get across, Lakitu will have to fish you out. There are muddy shortcuts in the alleys and you can go through the windmills if it isn't blocked.

Hazards: Goombas

Inspiration: Windmill Plains (Diddy Kong Racing), Bianco Hills (Super Mario Sunshine)

-------------------------------------------------

Mozzerella Land - Consider this as a GBA Cheese Land successor. Pretty much everything is made of cheese, like the road, terrain, all of that stuff. It also features Scaredy Rats (enemies from NSMBU ghosts houses) which have inhabited the land along with Piranha Plants and a few Chain Chomps. Some walls have holes which can be drove through (Swiss cheese reference).

Hazards: Scaredy Rats, Chain Chomps, Piranha Plants, melted cheese

Inspiration: GBA Cheese Land

-----------------------------------------------------

Dino Dino Mountain/Volcano - Another dinosaur course based off of Dino Dino Jungle. This time however, you are racing on and inside an active volcano. Some dinosaurs are still in the area and will try to crush you. There are ramps over lava, dinosaur skeleton tunnels, and one section where you go downhill on a stone path avoiding lava.

Hazards: LOTSA LAVA, Dinosaurs, Lava Bubbles, Podoboos

Inspiration: Dino Dino Jungle (Mario Kart Double Dash & 7)

-----------------------------------------------------

Sawmill Workshop - Based off of the level from Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Sawmill Thrill. You are inside a giant sawmill with logs, wooden tracks, and of course, giant saw blades. There is an outside water section with water slides. There are lack of guard rails so try not to fall off the track. There is also a secret water slide shortcut that requires a "boosting" item.

Hazards: Sawblades

Back again...but now with new tracks. I am also adding battle courses to the mix to spice things up a little. This will get updated a lot, so stick around for a while.

Mount Cocoa - In the mountainous region of the Mushroom Kingdom is an area made up all sorts of chocolate, like white, milk, peppermint, etc. However, there are dark chocolate boulders that need to be dodged as Piranha Plants have taken a liking to the chocolatey mountain and have made it their home. There are brown and white mushrooms that can be bounced on (like Mushroom Gorge) and a large lake filled with milk. A cave is also hidden behind a milk waterfall and can be used as a shortcut. Sweet Sweet Canyon can also be seen in a distance.

Hazards: Piranha Plants, Chocolate boulders

Inspiration: Chocolate Island (Super Mario World), Choco Mountain (Mario Kart 64)

----------------------------------------------------

Sparkling Waters - A beautiful paradise based on World 4 in NSMBU. While it can look nice at first, obstacles like Sea Urchins and Huckit Crabs will attack you while they migrate from Dolphin Shoals. There are also geysers that shoot out water, like in Dino Dino Jungle. There are lots of underwater sections, so I hope you bought snorkel goggles. There's a hidden underwater passage near the reefs, but it's right next to a ravine.

Hazards: Sea Urchins, Water geysers, Huckit Crabs, Bloopers

Inspiation: Sparkling Waters (NSMBU)
------------------------------------------------------

Freezeflame Peaks - Up high in the clouds are two mountains with separate climates. One mountain is ice cold and most of the road is frozen over while covered in snow. Freezies are common here along with Icy Piranha Plants and the native Li'l Brrs. Once you cross the bridge, you'll end up at the fiery heights of the red hot mountain. Here, you'll see lots of lava along with Lava Snakes, Lava Bubbles, and Li'll Cinders.

Hazards: Freezies, Li'l Brrs, Ice Piranha Plants, Lava Snake, Li'l Cinders, Lava Bubbles

Inspiration: Freezeflame Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy)
-------------------------------------------------------

Toy Time Kingdom - It is a playroom-themed race track filled with toys. Some of the areas are food-based, while others are based on various toys. There's one section where you drive with anti-gravity on a board game that is a reference to the Mario Party series. There's one section made out of fabric and ribbon (like GBA Ribbon Road) and another that has a Undergrunt Gunner firing homing electric balls.

Hazards: Mecha-Koopas, Undergrunt Gunner, Octogoombas

Inspiration: Toy Time Galaxy (Super Mario Galaxy)
-------------------------------------------------------
Oil Oil Oasis (Oilfield Outpost) - What used to be a relaxing paradise has turned into a wasteland that is filled with oceans of oil. Many machinery works here as you jump over rivers of oil, go through a factory, and riding down an oil slide. If you fall into the oily depths, Lakitu will fish you out. Many oil slicks appear throughout the track and some parts of the track will affect your drifting. Also, try not to set the place on fire with the Fire Flower.

Hazards: Oil Slicks, Goombas

Inspiration: Oil Man Stage (Mega Man Powered Up)
-------------------------------------------------------

Battle Course; Mario Castle - Didn't know Mario had a castle, well he does and has turned it into a battle stage. There are four floors (basement, main floor, second floor, roof) and there's also a swimming pool in the back. A hedge maze can also be found, but it ain't uncommon to get lost.

Hazards: None

Inspiration: Peach's Castle, Mario Circuit (Mario Kart 7)

Waluigi's Island - Waluigi has his own island? How and when? Doesnt matter, this place is filled with traps set up by the man in purple himself. You'll find many enemies and obstacles like Piranha Plants, Bob-Ombs, Chain Chomps, and it comes with a purple vine labyrinth. There are crates floating in the poisonous lake which can be jumped on for a shortcut that comes with a trick boost.

Hazards: Piranha Plants, Bob-Ombs, Chain Chomps

Inspiration: Waluigi Island (Mario Party 3)
---------------------------------------------

Shiver River - In the frozen wastelands of the Mushroom Kingdom lies one of the coldest bodies of water. The track focuses on the nearby forest rather than the river, but there's a section where you drive on a pier above an ice cold lake that could freeze you. Snow piles appear throughout the track and contains coins or other items.

Hazards: Snowmen

Inspiration: Shiveria (Super Mario Odyssey), GBA Snow Land
---------------------------------------------

Ruined Kingdom - A track based off the actual kingdom from Super Mario Odyssey. You start out driving on a broken bridge into a castle where some boos and other ghosts have made the Ruined Kingdom their home. Some possesses the knights that hit you with their hammers. You also drive on the roof and you'll come across the Ruined Dragon which will breath fire or shoot purple lightning.

Hazards: Boos, Knight Statues, Thunderheads, Ruined Dragon

Inspiration: Ain't it obvious?
---------------------------------------------

Star Hills - Taking place high in the sky is Star Hills on a mountaintop with the best view. Stars are the main theme on this track as there are star-shaped meteors, shooting stars, and an anti-gravity section shaped like a star. However, it's very easy to fall off...so don't. Also, shooting stars will sometimes leave behind Super Stars to help you.

Hazards: None

Inspiration: Shooting Star Summit (Paper Mario)
---------------------------------------------

Cherry Temple - A Japanese-themed race track set in an ancient area in the outskirts of the Mushroom Kingdom. There are trees with cherry blossoms as you will dive into an underwater cave and drive on the roof and path of a Japanese temple. Not much is to be cautious of besides the various turns and the bell that rings once you exit the temple.

Hazards: None

Inspiration: Seasonal Shrine (Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed), Pagoda Peak (Mario Party 7)
-----------------------------------------------

Battle Course; Planet Cheese - Remember the old saying about the moon being made of cheese? Anyways, this stage takes place deep in space and the whole planet is made of cheese. There are craters which can be tricked off of and tunnels to drive through as you avoid the many cheese meteors that crash on here.

Hazards: Cheese Meteors, Scaredy Rats

Inspiration: GBA Cheese Land

Peach Circuit - A way different version of the GBA Peach Circuit. Instead, you race on a circuit and head inside Peach's Castle. Inside, you drive in and on hallways, tables, Peach's bedroom, and even an indoor ice rink full of Freezies. You also race on top of the wall where you glide back down to the start/finish line.

Sprixie Circus - A race track based on a circus? You've raced in stranger places. An airport, pinball machine, a freeway, and even a clock. Anyways, you'll find many acts you need to avoid like the Acro-Guys, Clown Goombas, Pie Bros, etc. You also start off the track outside before you race inside the whole race.

Creepy Cavern - It's based on a cave. What did you expect? Anyways, the things you need to avoid in the cave are Swoopers, Whomps, and falling stalagmites. Some parts of the track will start to crumble and fall into the lava or water below, depending on where you're at.

Bowser Jr Boulevard - Didn't know Bowser's son had a casino? He does now and has built it into a race track with traps as many citizens gather here. There are giant roulettes and casino chips raining on the road and huge pinballs trying to roll over you.

Toadette's Music Room - Inside a room is the home of Toadette's music instrument collection. You'll find bouncy tambourines and tubas blowing you off the track.

Battle Course; Cheep Cheep Reef - An underwater coral reef inhabited by underwater enemies. A huge chasm surrounds the stage so try not to go out of bounds.

Personally, I think my home planet, Nevarro, would make a fine track in Mario Kart. Or at least it would have before we cleaned it up. Back before I became High Magistrate over the new and improved world, my job was to give bounties to hunters looking to make some dough. Back then our capital city was a shoddy run-down little down. It had a vast sewer system that branched out through a red hot lava tunnel which led to the wasteland of hardened lava flats. It would be just the perfect track for Mario and his friends to race around on, don't you think?

But I didn't come here to talk about ideas for tracks in so much as ideas for characters. As a matter of fact, I have a specific character I want you to find. I'm really here more as Head of the Bounty Guild than as High Magistrate. I myself was commissioned by higher powers to join here and impart vital information to whoever may read this, information that may avert an otherwise certain doom.

What's been revealed to me is that a certain character who was once proposed to be in Mario Kart - proposed on this very board, so many years ago - is vital to stop the shroud that is coming. You must take a look back in time through history on the Internet Archive - to a thread that was made on this very day 20 years ago. A thread about ideas for secret characters: http://web.archive.org/web/20040227211248/http://boards.ign.com/Mario_Kart/b5984/45897517/p1/

I can't say the name of the character directly myself, for the sinister shroud will be watching my words. But it can't cross through the link to that archive like you can. And there you can read the name of the character for yourself.

Once you have determined the name of the character, you must impart the name of this character, along with the other information you have gathered from the other so-called sages like myself, back to our mutual friend, the host of this great trial who sent you here. Ironically, our mutual friend was in that very thread that was so archived - but is not aware that the name of the very hero we're looking for was posted that day.

The topic creator named the hero in the original post. It is the 2nd character named in the 4th listed pair. To confirm that you found the correct hero I'm pointing you towards, I will also tell look and see that this character was named twice more by other posters in the ensuing days. In the 12th reply, the hero was the 9th character listed. And in the bottom reply on the first page, the hero was once again named - the 2nd group of lists, the 2nd character in the 2nd pair.

Find the hero's name and then gather it with the other pieces of information you've sought before sending it back to our friend the host. And be sure you got the right name. Good luck!
