Looking for help joining for Shift codes

Hi I'm new to the board and have a question. How do you join up thru the game ( Borderlands 2) on X-Box 360 for shift codes.and are there any other places on the net where you can get them that are not expired? So far every code I have tried has been invalid or says I'm restricted why is this? Thanks or the help

Shift codes get posted pretty regularly on the Borderlands FB and Twitter as well.

They keep them pretty up to date. Just check to see if it's listed as expired before you start punching them in.
