It's a Series...?

I just bought the game and then I realised its part of a series. Will I need to buy the other games in the series to understand the game or will it explain itself over the course of the game? Please help me!

Not really, none of the games have storylines that connect on anything other than the superficial level.

That being said, yes, you should buy and play the original, if only because it's better than the other two.
