Is anyone familiar with RE Revelations 2?

I'm kinda confused by how the inventory system works between chapter selects.

Like one time starting the final chapter on survival difficulty I had 39 magnum ammo but when I failed getting an S rank I went back and most my ammo was gone. Is there a good way to farm magnum ammo for specific chapters?

By replaying chapters on the lowest difficulty to collect more ammo.

I don't totally remember, but from what you said, I think whatever you end with will be whatever you start the next chapter with, no matter which chapter it is.

That sucks. I wish it saved more inventory info between chapters and difficulties instead of just the last saved
