Let's reminisce about when I had Freddie Freeman, Didi Gregorious, Yas Puig, Dex Fowler, Todd Frazier, Tanaka, Severino, Javy Baez etc etc etc

The spreadsheet from 2014 still exists - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TnJLB3Q5kdmI5SrkMVAI6o2SXHPZgCyVD2jTQBdunT4/edit?usp=sharing.

@GoBlue32 had an insanely good core, too: Chris Sale, Carlos Santana, Christian Yelich, Justin Turner, Carlos Correa, Clint Frazier, Joey Gallo, Carl Edwards Jr., Marcus Semien ... damn.

The Brewers (@jblisjustabigloser1) had Kershaw, Mauer, Lorenzo Cain, Kenley Jansen, Neil Walker, Jake Odorizzi, Gary Sanchez, and Aaron Judge.

The Giants had Noah Syndergaard, Trevor Bauer, Nolan Arenado, Carig Kimbrel, Aroldis Chapman, Aaron Hicks, Dee Gordon, Sean Doolittle, and Wade Davis ... I almost forgot about @magicblader222's reliever obsession.

The Yankees (@MrMVP91) had Trout, Justin Upton, Mooke Betts, Cole Hamels, Chris Archer, Marco Estrada, Austin Hedges, and Jose Ramirez.

There were a lot of good teams with promising futures ... which I guess would be promising presents now.

Kris Bryant, Brian Dozier, Ian Kinsler, Sal Perez infield mmm nice.
Strasburg-Duffy at the top of my rotation. Good stuff.

Everything else was bad.

I would still be paying Ubaldo Jimenez $17.5M this year, yikes! And another two years of Ellsbury at $22M.

Other than Miggy, Josh Reddick, Chris Taylor, and Kolton Wong, my team would be looking a lot different in 2018 than it did back then.

Skimming through the nfl gm list. Maybe 8 of them, including me, would join. Most of them already are among the 10 people that post here.

Also the last one died because we couldn’t get the sim to work. No idea if that’s still a hurdle.

I think we could get enough interest to give it the old college try ... but three people tried to run sims last time (myself included), and the bugs and glitching got old really fast. And the idea of getting people hyped, doing a long draft, and having it flop again is bothersome.

I remember pouring so much time into getting the sims to function, and I just don't think I had the technical expertise to smoothly export the data to a host website like fatboy/krism did.

There's services out there that you can pay for like AllSimBaseball or StatsPlus that can do that for you, but it's a bit pricey.

yes

RNR and I had brief discussions about starting it up again prob about a year ago, but it's a daunting task

From what I’ve gathered from ignba and IGNFL it has to be a tough task to take on, wish there was an easier way to throw something together for this.

I am not good with this stuff, but this is a good resource if you wanted to look into it: https://manuals.ootpdevelopments.com/index.php?man=ootp16&page=helpx_online_leagues

Doesn't IGNBA have their own website?

I’m pretty sure they do but it’s outdated.

Besides the typical roster moves/lineup changes I think a couple screencaps would suffice for something like this as far as stats/scores.

If I had access to a computer I’d be tempted to take on the task of this.

Damn I wish this was possible to reboot. My team from back then would've been pretty sick today:

Mike Trout
Mookie Betts
Justin Upton
Trevor Story
Albert Almora
Francisco Cervelli
Austin Hedges
Logan Morrison

Sean Manaea
Chris Archer
Cole Hamels
Marco Estrada
Bartolo Colon

David Hernandez
Jerry Blevins
Pedro Baez
Ryan Madson

Best sim league ever, don't @ me

The issue was moreso the web hosting, not the sim itself IIRC. I wasn't tech savvy enough to get it running smoothly

but there's things like allsimbaseball and stats+ to help run that side of the league. For a fee, of course

The year I tried to run it, the sim would not run properly at all. Duplicate players somehow existed despite the fact that I had one of every player in the file. It was ridiculous.

Just want to point out we had these guys before they were cool (some got cooler than others):
Jose Abreu
Nolan Arenado
Wei-Yin Chen
Gerrit Cole
Yu Darvish
Nathan Eovaldi
Starling Marte
Jake Odorizzi
Marcell Ozuna
Joc Pederson

We also had still pretty good Matt Holliday and young Clayton Kershaw at one point.

in the original, i think i had Trevor Story, Carlos Correa (who i got laughed at for drafting) and Javy Baez. I just really liked shortstops
