how do I get out of the cursed spaniard's grip in drake's fortune?

could someone please tell me how I can get out of the cursed spaniards grip when they catch you? I've been stuck on the bunker because I can't figure it out

When a descendant (cursed Spaniard) jumps on your back, you will get a prompt to shake your controller. Maybe you don't have six axis on, but that I what you will need to do in order to get them off you back. Glad I could help.
