HELP: I want to delete all my info, but how?

I bought a used game and now I need to delete all the dogs, money, everything the previous player had so I can start over. I have the Lab & friends game.
I already tried pressing and holding the buttons on the copyright screen.

wen you turn on your ds clik on nintendogs nd just before the logo comes up press L,R,Y,X,B,A at the same time then keep hold until a message will come up then click yes then it shud be deleted

I have a DS lite. The option to hold down the L and R at the same time doesn't exist for me. Is there an alternative?

Also, how do you get more than one dog at a time?

dude dont panic all's you have to do is press A-B-Y-X and Up-Down-Left-Right all at the same time and if u have the L and R press the too.BUT NOTE THIS HAS TO BE DONE JUST AFTER YOU PRESS THE BUTTON TO PLAY THE GAME AND I MEAN LIKE AS FAST AS HUMANLY POSIBLE!
