The one thing that I could not figure out in Dark Cloud was the fishing - bait, time of day, and so on.

Other than offering you a break from the action in each area, what purpose did going fishing serve?

You can get the Arise Mardan sword. Stats 250/120. Also, the rare fishes (mardan garayans) give up to 500 FP!

Yeah fishing points. I use them to get gemstones to upgrade. Mardan Garayans and some fish that likes carrots give you lots of points
