DW possible fighting game??

From what I have seen from these Dynasty Warrior games, I am really amazed. The wide variety of weapons, attacks for each weapon, the armor and give each character some nasty attitude, I think this would make for a good fighting game. Anyone else?

The first one was a fighting game. Can't say I've played it though.
I recall that they had a 'Showdown' mode or some such in DW4, where basically it was one on one. I'd like to see that return.

A duel mode would probably be a good idea to bring back. But to make a fighting game based on DW? Nah.

They could make it work if koei actully put work into it and not just copy paste the game like they do with every other game that they do.

A 2D fighting game would be cool. They should totally make someone else do it though.

Definitely. I love the first one, own it and still play it to this day. It's a simple but really fun fighting game. Dynasty Warriors needs to go back at least once to its' very first roots.

Dynasty Warriors 1, was on the 16 bit consoles, every now and then you had a one on one joust, or do you mean on it's release on the 64 bit platforms ?
