Dragon age inquisition

I have been playing for 18 hours and I still haven't figured out what I am suppose to do. the Quests seem well dumb. I have no problem killing the fade green things. But what is the purpose? Is there a major quest? DA and awakenings had a point. this one doesn't. I am stuck in the hinterlands and although the graphics are beautiful I am getting bored.

perhaps you missed the story aspect of the game where you gathered at Haven and they mentioned the mage/Templar rebellion going on and the mention of the fighting at the cross roads in the hinterlands.

Either you weren't paying attention when playing or you are trolling. The game tells you where the main objective is by high lighting the area on the war table map with a big glowing green marker.
