Also I can't tell if the preachiness was more on the nose than earlier doctor who or if I perceive it that way because I feel more negative towards these last few seasons, but hey.

I was really looking forward to this after hearing Ed Hime wrote it. It Takes You Away was easily the best episode of the last series. Unfortunately, this was a sloppy mess. It's too much shit packed into one episode. None of it amounts to anything and feels very thrown together, especially the mother-daughter bit (how is she randomly alive?).

It's pretty clear they wanted a climate change fear mongering episode and that's about it. I admit that I usually roll my eyes when people complain about the show's politics, usually because I generally agree with them, but this was a cheesy after school special.
