I think one word can say it all: MILF! Now seriously, I think this is a great casting, she's a very good actress, and if rumors are true and Costner is aboard the movie, Ma and Pa Kent could be epic!

Just a thought:

Why not have Pa Kent stay alive in the first movie?

He only died recently in the comics. No reason to follow Donner's approach, even though the first movie was great.

Movie's gonna suck unless you bring in a real villian, like doomsday. The superman doomsday comic was the biggest comic book success of all time. I don't see why nobody has thought about bringing that to film. Otherwise it's going to be another Superman flop.

Ok, no offense, but how is that ironic? The two are hardly connected, this is like playing the Degrees of Kevin Bacon game. "Ironically, so-and-so was once rumored to play the part that so-and-so got, who played the father of Superman." Who'd-a-thunk?

congrats to Diane Lane. damn good choice, damn good looking woman..seems that they are going for the Smallville look/tone of this movie (I don't know, just guessing)...

Man, I must be getting really old. I remember seeing some of her past movies and thought she was the most beautiful actress ever. Now she's playing a grandmother.

I remember watching her film,Unfaithful, and instantly falling in love with her.She has classic beauty and gets even more beautiful with age.

Great choice. She'll be the sexiest Martha Kent ever.

I fell in love with Lane when I saw her in Streets of Fire. Boy, was she hot in that film.

Kevin costner, viggo mortensen, and russell crowe are for sure casted for the movie. They're filming parts of the movie in town next to mine, Plano IL, and there have been multiple sightings of all them within the area

For sure, the supporting cast is awesome. I hope the Superman can hold acting against them.
