Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - can't interact with neutral essence dispensary

At the begining of chapter 4 there is a neutral essence dispensary but i can't seem to interact with it. I need the essence to activate dark magic and break through a door so i'm stuck. Actually i haven't been able to interact with any of the neutral essence dispensaries in the game. When i press the interact button, the character makes a grabbing gesture but nothing happens. Please help.

If I remember right you don't use the R2 button. You push either L3 or R3 depending on which magic to refill.
