Sounds like a good thing! And I’m glad you found someone.Changed how ?should be fun cause i think my opinions have changed quite a bit over the past year.

I had a lot of shifting in my focus from my beliefs to my health to my hobbies & interests, as well as having a gf since November, now working full time. It kind of became too difficult to keep up with or even really care about new music. A lot of the stuff i'd spent the better part of this decade listening to took on a different tone with a changing perspective in my life. Some for better, some for worse. But I'm much happier so that's all that really matters.
I spend more time listening to podcasts and watching stand up nowadays than i do listening to music.
Sounds like a good thing! And I’m glad you found someone.
im counting all lists cause who knows how many we will get. i will like every to vote for at least 25 but 20 like goblue will work ofc. is there a way to like send out the bat signal to the past users?we're gonna ignore ducktape's list right?
i think i'll probably have at least 1 album from every year of the decade. maybe not 2019 though, unless that new Alex G album is great, or if i even listen to it. Idk if i want to wait til September anyway but Rocket is probably gonna be near the top so shrug_emoji
i will post both, yeah.Would love to see you guys put together a solid top 20-25 (or more) of the decade for me to make a playlist out of. The list you all put together in previous years made for great catching up a few Januarys ago. I'm sure a lot of the stuff on the list you all put together for the past decade would be first time listens for me. @Carmelo would like to see a "pop" list from you as probably won't know or care about the more obscure stuff lol
If it doesn't work out will just use ducktape's list as gospel

10. kacey musgraves - pageant material
another one that i went on about. maybe the strongest representation of the shrinking classes within genre these days. would have been unheard of for a country album to unite people like this, but hey, we all love it.
i didn't like golden hour too much at first but that could be because pageant material meant a lot to me. i have grown to appreciate it though, but for me same trailer different park and pageant material have much more charm because they explore kacey's roots. the more pop oriented sound of golden hour is fun but like the twang. it reminds me of taylor swift's red vs 1989. both great but red is more personal and i like that.10. kacey musgraves - pageant material

Would you mind quickly comparing this album with Golden Hour?
I really enjoy both albums. It would help me though if you or somebody could give an opinion cause I'm back and forth on which i like more. Sometimes it's helpful to hear what somebody else has to say to steer me one way or another.
even though i've always felt like i started posting here too late to really be an og indie rock board poster i do think i found a role as a commonly reoccurring secondary character. i always enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts on the big releases back in the day and especially the arguments. my taste's never really aligned super closely with too many on the board, but i definitely listened to and enjoyed stuff i never would have found on my own. i know this board is basically dead at this point, but i hope everyone is doing well. glad to read that garb is happy and i know my life has pretty much done a complete 180 since i started posting in 07.i was going to wait to post this but decided that would just give me more time to massage my opinion into something less representative of my gut, which is probably what a decade list should be about.
i dont think anyone is really reading this thread, which is sad to think about, but regardless i am going to write a little bit about this place. i was thinking (so self centered i start all my sentences with i) about how much of my online life i spent here. it's nearly incalculable. this decade, at least the first six years of it were devoted to spaces like this, to share, argue, and love w/r/t music and other things.
that makes me really thankful to have had a place like this and people like you all. and i am sorry if i ever came across like a huge dick, which i did. so actually, i am sorry for being a dick. but in ways that are more astounding than i thought possible for this type of thing, the people i shared words with here helped me immeasurably. i miss you all and this place.
pop albums:
25. tim hecker - konoyo
24. grouper - a i a

is that emptyset's label? i would think no giegling is the bigger robbery but actually it slipped my mind. they fell apart though.even though i've always felt like i started posting here too late to really be an og indie rock board poster i do think i found a role as a commonly reoccurring secondary character. i always enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts on the big releases back in the day and especially the arguments. my taste's never really aligned super closely with too many on the board, but i definitely listened to and enjoyed stuff i never would have found on my own. i know this board is basically dead at this point, but i hope everyone is doing well. glad to read that garb is happy and i know my life has pretty much done a complete 180 since i started posting in 07.
i'm happy to have helped you discover some stuff and just open some pathways in general. subtext was robbed!

it's a fair point about putting artists in a bubble. i am just too emotional about the current political climate for various reasons to that. maybe in a few years it wont be a big deal to me.Yeah i jjust have a hard time with a few of the artists i used to obsess over. There's a lot of memories attached to Teens of Denial, The Monitor, and some other albums i didn't even include (sorry parquet courts) that are not at all happy memories, and a whole lot of regrets too. they're just a bit tarnished. I acknowledge those were probably the most important artists to me throughout the meat of this decade though. Age of Adz would've probably made the cut in 26-30.
I don't really give a shit about kanye in 2019 and beyond. what he did between 2010 and 2016 i just put it in a bubble and i'm ignoring the rest. well i mean i like his older stuff too but just in terms of this decade. I don't know why this stuff didn't turn brown on me like a lot of other shit i liked did but every time i flip on yeezus, tlop, or mbdtf i still get really into it. whereas like..if i listen to the most lamentable tragedy by titus andronicus it makes me wanna crawl in a hole and bury myself.
i wanted to put something from young thug on my list but i couldn't really choose. JEFFERY would've probably been the right pick. But i just haven't listened to him much by album. usually just random songs. he'll make an appearance on my songs list probably
i think all of the lists have been marked by individuality. nobody's really is that esoteric, so no need to feel bad. we are just sharing the stuff we like.I’m in the process of making mine and I feel like the most basic ass ever

I’ve written a little bit about my feelings towards Kanye lately and for me it’s just tough to enjoy his stuff now. Yeezus vs Pablo I pick Pablo now because it has more space.@Carmelo, @garbarator, @ducktape thank you for the lists. Sure I will find new stuff from them
@Carmelo why no Yeezus at #1 lol? It would be my #1 or at least top 5. Also what is this song "kanye west - never see me again"? Never heard of this song and I thought I knew every Kanye song but will check out
Also I love Golden Hour.
