after completing main quest................

after i completed the main quest line (having chosen most of the "good" options), most of albion is deserted. does anybody know if the population grows again, or if i should restart and choose the options to get me the most gold for when the Darkness attacks so that i can buy more stuff and basically complete all the leftover side quests????? also so i can find a spouse that doesn't hate me, cos i would rather like the idea of having a couple of little princes or princesses wondering around lol

You needed to save up all that money. You didn't, so most of your population died. Eventually they'll come back. I hear if you do the lute job enough, it happens faster.
