Welcome to the ultra exclusive, fiercely competitive, most elite tier of fantasy hockey offered here on IGN's illustrious and revered hockey message board.

Since the beginning of the season is coming up fast, I've set the draft for Sunday, October 1st at 8:30pm EDT. Based off past experiences, Sunday evenings right before the season have been pretty agreeable times. Please post whether or not this will work for you and we'll see if

Same rules have carried over from last year. If you'd like to propose any changes, do it quickly so we can vote and make a decision.

As far as draft order, we'll attempt to keep the traditional Italian lottery system alive. I assume the correct link is now https://www.lottomaticaitalia.it/it/prodotti/lotto and we'll take the next set of results, though I'm not sure when that is - whichever comes after the current results from 9/19 (little help?). Starting on left column and working down, then across columns to the right.

Hmmm. If you pick somebody to be your co-manager, can that person draft in your place (basically work from a set of notes you provide that can be smarter than a yahoo autodraft)?

It sounds like Yahoo's overriding preset draft orders with randoms for nonkeeper leagues.

Welp, sorry guys. Forgot about it, and the alarm I set on my phone was apparently dismissed by my son while I was in another room. Just way too busy to do this, really, but no one else volunteered.

If I were back in LA I would have, but last night was the first time I've been able to break away for a couple hours to myself in the past 10 days.

Excited to not have a roster of nothing but defensemen and back-up goalies for once...last place finish all but guaranteed.

Yea, sorry I'm not trying to pass blame. I'm just fucking pissed that I forgot and that I didn't set the draft order ahead of time. Pissed I auto drafted 4 D in first 6 rounds. Pissed that I wasted the time of anyone who actually spent time building a strategy around their supposed draft position. Sorry guys, let ya'll down. See ya in the basement.

From what we've seen, there's a good chance that if you had remembered to set the draft order, that Yahoo would have clobbered it and went random anyway.

Didn't realize we weren't using IR+, also in favor of this for the same reason stated in the Tier 2 thread. (ie. inconsistent status changes by Yahoo)

at this point I think you can only add slots, not subtract. so we could add 1 or 2 ir+ slots but wouldn't be able to remove the 2 ir ones.

Yea I checked earlier and didn't see an option in Commish Tools to do anything with IR slots.

Commissioner Tools -> Rosters & Scoring -> Edit Roster Positions -> Miscellaneous.

"Once your draft has completed, the only changes you can make are to increase your number of IR, IR+, NA, or Bench slots. Please think before raising any of these sizes, because if you do so, you cannot later reduce them."

Which is to say you have to keep the two IR slots you have, but you could add an IR+ if you were so inclined.

I am surprised how poorly my team has done this year, really thought I drafted well.

But stuff like this certainly doesn't help.

Murray went on to relieve Jarry and the Pens won in OT, so I didn't even get a W despite starting opposing goalies. lol

5, 6 & 7 all tied with 205 points and i miss. not sure what the tiebreaker is but maple waffles and i tied our season matchups 10-10.

According to Yahoo’s current documentation, the first standings tiebreaker is win% in the final week of the regular season (and if that’s tied they go to win% in second last week, and so on).

I believe that's the closest I've ever seen a playoff race between that many teams. I've seen one team just barely miss the playoffs, but I've never seen two teams just barely miss the playoffs when there are three teams tied in points and one team a point behind them. Craziness!

Good luck DOD, felt like my record was a bit inflated. My goalies just couldn't get it done and your offense is peaking. I'm still very happy with my draft though, just needed even 1 solid goalie.

ill take 3rd, not a bad season, i had a pretty good team all around but injuries hit at a bad time and the lack of IR spots hurt.

i also didn't have much in the way of big time game breakers, and no one wanting to trade me one for a stud goalie sucked

How about a vote for IR+ next year? I seemed to always have 3 guys on DTD or OUT, but I couldn't move them to IR. So either risk cutting them, which is stupid in the case of a starting goalie or other high quality/value player, or just lose every week.

I think we should also get rid of +/- or gwg and add shots.
