I just got GT5 and I'm in the early going, so bear with me. Anyway, I managed to snag the aforementioned Camaro and I bought a few basic mods (intake, exhaust, suspension... the basics). It was working out well for me until I got to the first long straightaway, at which point the car seems to be redlining in fifth gear at 112-113 MPH, killing me in the World Classic Car and Classic Muscle Car A-Spec races. Do I need to modify something else or just learn to drive manual? (I'm currently playing entirely automatic transmission) Any advice on how to HANDLE this would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, you'll need to purchase a new transmission for virtually every muscle car in the game. If you did already, go adjust it so your gears are longer.
