The story revolves around the protagonist Harold Halibut and the community living in the spaceship stuck underwater which fled earth years ago. Everyone on the ship has a job, a family and things to do. Eventually, we discover a mystery of the planet; and the story takes us to an interesting adventure.
The gameplay consists of discovering, having dialogues with others and solving some basic puzzles.
Graphics are not only impressive, everything (characters and environments) is hand-crafted. Just like stop-motion movies.
Unfortunately, I wasn't fully satisfied by this game. Firstly, the story progresses slowly. The story is well-designed and interesting, but we only see it in the cutscenes of the main missions; and the side quests (or stuff) we need to do until we get there aren’t interesting, and they take too much time. More elements should have been added in terms of gameplay. More puzzles, progression, customization, and action should have been added.
Despite the problems, it was a unique experience. Thanks to everyone at the team.
I wish you a joyful game…
7 years after the first game, which I really liked, we are continuing the story. This review of mine focuses on my experiences and comparison.
In my opinion, the level design of the first game was better. Although the views are breathtaking, most locations felt empty. Character models are much better compared to the first game. Combat is better. Fighting feels more cinematic and fun. And the variety of enemies has improved. The game makes you think of separate methods for each enemy. The puzzles in the first game were monotonous, and those in the sequel are better. Compared to the first game; the sequel is much more cinematic, and I really liked it.
For some, this game might be a disappointment; and for some, a joyful experience. The fact that almost 7 years have passed since the first game was released, and having seen the trailers, my expectations were high. I think that the potential was kind of wasted; but it’s a good sequel.
I wish you a joyful game…
Although I liked the sci-fi theme of the game, I didn’t feel satisfied even a little in this game.
There isn’t any depth both in the story and the characters. Cut-scenes are boring. The game shouldn’t have consisted of walking, puzzle-solving and fighting. At first, these are fun; but for a game that approximately takes eight hours to finish, doing these for the whole game was boring. Not to mention the technical faults. Perhaps the only positive thing I can say about this game is t is that fighting is fun with the upgrades we receive throughout the game.
Though, thanks for the efforts you (devs) put into this game.
I am a huge fan of the franchise. I always avoided the game and I don’t know why. I finally decided to play it.
This game was originally developed and released for Nintendo 64, and this is a modernized version. It felt like a spinoff of the franchise. Same enemies but with different designs. I enjoyed it, but I was disappointed with the game not having an auto-save feature.
The story revolves around the humanoid protagonist who finds himself in a nightmarish world. This world is filled with creatures and machines. Throughout the game, the protagonist tries to survive and explore the mystery behind this world.
The gameplay consists of puzzles and battle. Puzzles aren’t hard, but they make the player think on how to solve it. Sometimes, one has to fight the aliens to progress. Due to the limited ammunition, the player has to think of tactics.
Graphics are really grotesque and mesmerizing. Always reminds me of Quake. The atmospheric horror theme makes it unique.
The only issue I have noticed is that the game lacks music. An accompanying music would be better.
I wish you a joyful game…
Although I liked the first game and saw a potential, I didn’t feel satisfied even a little in this game.
This game still doesn’t tell the story of a weak woman who is trying to survive, but of a woman who is one-woman-army. The story is incredibly boring and uninteresting. Sound design is seriously flawed, especially weapons. Maps are repetitive, so are the enemy types. Perhaps the only positive thing I can say about this game is that fighting is sometimes really fun.
Though, thanks for the efforts you (devs) put into this game.
After avoiding this game for many years, I finally decided to give it a try. The game was released for PC and was available on PC Game Pass.
As I am writing this review, the game is 11 years old. I got more than I expected. But this “definitive” edition is a huge disappointment on PC. Bugs, frame rate lock at 30 and more…
This was my first Tomb Raider game, and I am excited for the next games.
Although I liked the nostalgia and the mystery-solving aspect of the game, I didn’t feel satisfied.
The story felt really rushed. The game is really slow. Technically, it feels really old. The characters are hand drawn which I appreciated, but it didn’t feel like a big deal.
Though, thanks for the efforts you (devs) put into this game.
The story revolves around the protagonist who decides to climb a gigantic mountain. We also have a cute friend in our bag who helps us throughout the game.
In terms of gameplay, the game focuses on the climbing mechanics. You climb the mountain, discover new places and find some collectible items.
Graphically, it looks both cute and comforting.
I wish this game had a bit more elements in terms of gameplay; crafting, customization, etc. Maybe they didn't need it because it was a short game.
It offers a very short and nice experience.
I wish you a joyful game…
The story revolves around the protagonist -who is created by the player- who discovers a mystery, in the mine they are working, about the space and gets taken into an interesting adventure. Not everyone thinks so, but I found the story fascinating and well-written.
The gameplay proves that it’s a classical Bethesda game. New features makes it modern among other titles.
Graphically, I found it insufficient for today’s standards; but some textures look incredible. Not going to lie.
Although I mostly enjoyed the game, I wasn't fully satisfied by this game. The game engine is still the same one from 2006. Planet discovering thing is unnecessary -which we all predicted- as planets consist of randomly generated empty maps. I also want to add that; with a setup strong enough to run most modern games smoothly, I have had performance issues in this game for months.
Things could have been much better, but I enjoyed it a lot.
I wish you a joyful game…
The story revolves around the protagonist Akito who is, after an accident, possessed by a spirit who provides him magical abilities. Tokyo was invaded by spiritual beings, and then he tries to save his family.
The gameplay is open world and action & adventure oriented. There are combat mechanics, and a map where one can eventually unlock the entire city.
Graphically, it has impressive visuals. The city design is really successful. The color palette was also chosen very well. One can feel the next-gen experience.
Unfortunately, I wasn't fully satisfied by this game. Firstly, the story is not interesting. There is an imbalance in the number of enemies, and the combat mechanics are designed terribly. The game is extremely repetitive, and I personally rushed to finish the story. Normally, I would do every side quest and content, but I wasn’t motivated to do it.
Although it is a great success graphically, my thoughts about this game, which falls short in terms of both story and gameplay, are unfortunately mostly negative.
I hope my review was fair and gave an idea for those considering to start the game.
The game narrates the story of Lana. A fictional village, where the spoken language isn’t understandable, gets invaded by robots. Her friend gets kidnapped, and she wants to go after her which leads to an adventure.
The whole game consists of puzzles. Puzzles aren’t hard, but they make the player think on how to solve it. This makes the game unique amongst the games of the same genre.
Graphics are really beautiful and mesmerizing. Too minimalist, but it’s unique. The accompanying music makes it better.
The only issue I have noticed is that the game is kind of slow, and the puzzles repeat themselves too much which causes boredom.
