I always like when a studio looks to apocalypses of the past rather than setting their games in some bland, ill-defined post-apocalyptic future. We’ve certainly created enough ****ed up situations throughout history for video games to portray before we even get to zombies or demons or whatever else. Also, the mechanic of the rat hordes is genuinely innovative and cool.

In many ways a spiritual successor to the original Super Mario Bros. Video game.
*gamer pedant voice* “Did you know that this wasn’t originally developed to be a Mario game? Blah blah blah look at me I’m an expert blah blah blah.”
As ever, may the Lord bless and keep the boy Miyamoto.

This was the first game I owned, in point of fact. God bless the boy Miyamoto.
