I Must've Put In Around 300+ Hours Into This Game
Quite Literally Tried To Do Every Possible Thing. Searched Every Area Extensively
The Story Is Solid, But Man, The Dialogue Can Be Really Dry Sometimes
Combat Is Surprisingly Fun For How Basic It Is.
Building Your Base Is Also Kinda Fun For How Clunky It Is. Spent Hours Putting Together My Mini Utopia - Even Made A Specific Docking Space For All The Power Armor Suits I Had
Loved The Community Mod Page Built Into The Game. Spent A Ton of Time Just Downloading Random Stuff and Messing Around
Exploring The Detailed & Immersive World, Filled With Cool Stuff To Interact With & Unique Events To Discover Is Extremely Fun
Collecting Scrap, And Upgrading Your Weapons Is A Mechanic I Especially Loved (Though It Did Lose It's Charm Later Into The Game)
Similar Case To Dokkan
There Are Good Things About This Game, But Everything, Including PvP, Becomes Tedious & Dry
Cool Concept Ruined By Everything Else
Art Style Is Abysmal - It's Genuinely One Of The Ugliest Games I've Played
Combat Is Also Extremely Bad - Some Of The Animations Are Cool, But That's About The Only Good Thing About It
The Art Style Is Pretty Cutesy & Nice To Look At. Suits The General Theme Of The Game Well
Characters Are Generally Charming & Entertaining. Nothing Too Complex, But Dialogue Is Fitting
The Gameplay Is Surprisingly Decently Fun For How Basic It Is. Combo's Usually String Together Cleanly And Are Just Generally Fun To Execute
I Think The Whole Rice Cultivation Process Is Actually Pretty Satisfying, And A Nice Chill Experience (Carrying The Dog & Cat Is Also A Peak Mechanic)
But It Does Get Really Repetitive After A Little While. Even Becoming Boring & Tedious When You're Not In The Mood
(This Is A Review Of The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Remake - As A Part Of The Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy)
Real Rating: 8.5/10
The Style Of Gameplay Has Me Immediately Hooked. It's So Entirely Unique To Anything Else I've Played
Having To Actively Gather Evidence And Use Said Evidence To Refute Testimonies Is Just Insanely Fun. To Find Even The Smallest Contradiction In an Otherwise Air Tight Testimony Feels Super Rewarding
The Puzzles/Mysteries Are Great. Having To Use Actual Creativity And Intuition. It's Genuinely Challenging At Times - Even Often Requiring You To Think Outside Of The Box
The Story/Cases Are Interestingly Written. They're Full Of Hidden & Ulterior Motives, Twists & Turns, And Carefully Planted Pieces Of Evidence To Keep You Guessing The Whole Way Through. It's Genuinely Engaging To Watch Unfold As You Slowly Piece Things Together
I Like That It Progressively Introduces New Mechanics/Gimmicks After Every Case As Well. It Ensures That Gameplay Doesn't Stay Too Stagnant
The Comedy, As Well As The Character Interactions Are Also Pretty Hilarious. The Jokes Are Well Written, Well Timed, And The Characters All Bounce Off Of Each Other Perfectly. The Characters In General Are Just Entertaining With Their Unique Quirks And Often Outlandish Qualities
The Gameplay, While Repetitive, Is Also Addicting. Just How Simple It Is & How Satisfying It Is Makes For A Great Combo
The Mechanics Surrounding The Gameplay Are Also Solid - Chain Combo's Are The Most Stand-Out To Me. It's Fun Figuring Out How To Make A Broken Combo Using Your Available Moves, While Having To Keep At Least One Other Viable Move To Maintain PP & Hunger
I Also Think That Not Allowing Your Pokemon To Evolve Until Post-Game Is An Interestingly Neat Mechanic. You Never Really Get To Experience A Pokemon Game While Only Playing With Non-Evolved Pokemon (Unless You Deliberately Go Out Of Your Way To Do So) And Think It's Cool To Viably Play As Them - It Maintains A Certain Charm
The Characters Are Quirky. Very Outspoken. And I Think That Adds A Great Amount Of Charm - Something You'd Expect To See Out Of A Cast Of Talking Pokemon
I Dislike The Villains, And I Love The Guild Members, And I Think Such Simplicity Is Nice
Having A Silent Protagonist Is Kind Of A Downgrade Compared To The Other Mystery Dungeon Games Though
The Soundtrack Is Made Up Of Absolute Bangers
Even Just The Guild Theme Makes Me Want To Bob My Head - I Don't Even Know Why, It's Just That Type Of Chill Beat
The Special Episodes Are Also A Cool Way To Expand Upon & Explain Certain Lore & Backstories
I Also Enjoy The Personality Test And How It Picks A Pokemon Based On Your Answers (I Got Charmander, So That's Also Cool)
I Can Tell That They Put A Lot Of Care Into The Story Telling, And I Appreciate That. When Otherwise The Mainline Games Aren't Too Detailed In That Area
This Game Is Just So Fun
It Uses A Great Style Of Gameplay Already And The Amplifies That With Pokemon's Movesets
The Animations In This Game Are Also So Clean - Genuinely Entertaining To Watch Every Time
The Gameplay In This Game is so Hands-On It's Insane. I Love The Customisation Of Your Weapons, The Need To Maintain Your Equipment, Managing Resources, Etc Etc
The Maps You Explore Are All Unique And Visually Immersive
Real Rating: 9.5/10
The Gameplay Is Actually So Gas
The Boss Fights Are Some Of The Best & Most Entertaining I've Ever Played
Especially The Very Last Fight Vs Chakravartin. It Was So Creative How It Seemed Like He Was Being Played By An Actual Person - The Choreography In That Fight Was Also Pretty Amazing
Outside Of Maybe God Of War, I've Never Actually Felt Like A True God Like I Have In This Game - The Scale Of The Fights And The Way You Can Brute Force Through Everything Is Insane
The Cinematic Cutscenes That Follow Are Also Jaw-Dropping - They're Genuinely So Peak. The Choreography, The Cinematography, The Sound Design, The Visuals - They're Insane. It's Like Watching A Mini-Movie. They're So Eccentric And Hype - I Love it
I Appreciate That The Quick-Time-Events Are Consistent. I'm Never Caught Off Guard By A Random QTE, Because They Make It Pretty Obvious When They're Gonna Activate One. I Know To Expect Them & I Know When They're Gonna Happen - Unlike Other Games, Where They Throw Them In Whenever
The Story (Including DLC) Is Pretty Good, Love A Good Revenge Story - Final Moments Are Especially Emotional
The Graphics Are Also Very Clean - For Its Age, it Looks Very Good. And That's Thanks To The Art-Style
Asura Is A Bit Of A One-Note Character, But He's Still Really Entertaining - Besides, Not Everything Needs To Be Complicated. Especially When Said Character Is The Embodiment Of Wrath Itself
And The DLC Itself Is Great - The Bonus Content Is Neat & Pretty Funny
The Animated Episodes Are Also Masterfully Animated
But It's An Honestly Underrated Game. This Game Is A Wild Ride - An Experience Like No Other
Season 1: 10/10
Season 2: 9.5/10
Season 3: 8/10
Season 4: 10/10
Michonne: 6/10
Real Rating: 9.5/10
The Relationship Between Lee And Clementine Was Especially Entertaining & Heartwarming. How Clementine Acts As A Sort Of Moral Compass For Lee, And How She Looks To Him For Guidance
It's Cool That We Actively Witness Her Development Throughout The Series. From A Scared & Naive, Yet Smart Child, To A Strong, Determined & Complicated Character. Near Perfectly Written
And Now How AJ Plays A Contradicting Role To Clementine. He's The Complete Opposite To How Clementine Was. She Had A Normal Life And Was Innocent. But He Was Born Into This World. He's Already Hardened. So Now She Has To Be A Sort Of Moral Compass For Him As She Was For Lee, Set An Example. I Think It's Handled Pretty Brilliantly
The Conclusion To Clementine's Story Was Amazingly Satisfying. It's Bittersweet In A Way, But Her And AJ Living In Piece, And Having A Permanent Home Is A Great Way To Conclude Her Arc
The Supporting Characters Are Amazing As Well. Their Personalities Are Expressed Well & Their Dialogue Is Well Written. They're Human And It's All Believable. Nothing Feels Forced, Weird Or Out Of Place
Interactions Are Also Entertaining To Watch Play Out Regardless Of If You Decide To Give Input Or Not. They Feel Like Real People. How They Act & Respond. It's Really Written Well
And I Like That Unlike Other Zombie Horror Games, It Moreso Focuses On The Humanity Of It, The Characterization & Story. The Gameplay Is There, But It's Definitely Secondary
I Do Like That It Got More Involved Later On Though. Especially In The Final Season. The Combat Is Sometimes Finicky, But Fun. Even Just Decorating Your Room Is Nice
The Choices You Have To Make Are Pretty Decisive. The Circumstances & How Quickly You Have To Decide Makes Them Feel Infinitely More Impactful. Especially Seeing How They Actively Affect Things And People's Actions. They May Not Drastically Affect The Endings, But It's A Good Illusion
The Story Itself Is An Interesting Concept Done Generally Really Well (Only Complaint Is How On The Nose It Is At Times), But The Amount Of Meaningful Choices You Can Choose Just Amplifies How Real The Experience Feels
I Do Like That They Commit To The Choices You Make As Well. They're Not Superficial, Things Branch Off So Wildly
This Game Was A Massive Part Of My Childhood - Played It For Days In A Row, Constantly Replaying. And It Never Got Old
I Remember This Being One Of The First Pieces Of Media To Genuinely Make Me Shed Tears
It Made Me Genuinely Care About The Characters - The Emotional Weight Behind Everything Was Just Tremendous
Just A Genuinely Well-Crafted Story - It's Immersive, Logical And Perfectly Paced
The Characters Feel Real. They Feel Like They're Living In This World, They Act And React Accordingly. The Voice Acting Is Also Just Phenomenal - It Really Sells To You What They're Feeling. It Makes You Emotionally Invested - I Have Nothing But Praise For It
The Zombie Types Are A Pretty Unique Concept, The Cordyceps Stuff Is Really Interesting
The Music Is Some Of The Most Perfectly Complementary I've Ever Heard - It Fits Every Situations Perfectly, And Is Just Amazing In General
And For A Linear Game, It Never Really Bothered Me. Never Felt Like I Was Forced To Go In A Certain Direction
I Love This Game About An Equal Amount As Red Dead Redemption 2
Real Rating: 9.5/10
This Game Is A Massive Part of My Childhood
Out Of All Of My Comfort Games, This Is The One That I Come Back To Play The Most - I Replay It Pretty Much Every Year. And Everything I Loved About It As A Child, I Still Love Now
Spent So Many Hours Just Doing Absolutely Nothing In This Game Because I Loved It - The Open World Allows You To Do That With It's Secrets And Just General Beauty; It Feels So Chill
Usually Hate The Slow Pace Of This Style Of Combat, But I Enjoy It A Lot In This Game - It's Smooth And Doesn't Waste My Time
The Dialogue, And by Extension, The Dialogue Options Are Masterfully Written. There's Genuine Intrigue In The Questions You Ask, What You Say Has Weight, Makes Sense And Is Almost Never Dense - You Become So Invested In The Characters As You Get To Know Them Through Said Dialogue
The Only Thing Lacking Is The Side Quests. They Can Feel A Bit Irrelevant And Boring At Times - But I Do Enjoy Most Of Them
It's A Pretty Solid Game For The Time And It Being The Very First In The Series
10/10 For How Iconic It Is, But Not That Great Of A Game - Still Love It Though
Real Rating: 5.5/10
The Story Is A Big Improvement From The Last, But Still Meh At Points
The Battles With The Totem Pokemon Were Quite Cool, And Pretty Engaging - But The Trials Themselves Were Bland, They Had Nothing Interesting To Offer. I Expected It To Be A Lot More Exciting Than It Was
I Do Think The Removal Of HM's Was A Good Decision Though
HM's Only Really Took Up Move Slots And Hindered Team Creativity. You Practically Always Needed A Water Type & Flying Type/Pokemon That Could Fly On Your Team (Which Sometimes Isn't An Issue, But You'll Occasionally Use Pokemon You Don't Want To)
It's A Cool Concept, And It's Handled Pretty Well
The Sprites Submitted In The Community Discord Are Fire (The Graphics In General Are Also Just Great) - There Are So Many Great Designs That It Often Makes It Hard Choosing Just 6 Pokemon To Use
It Also Adds Some Cool Additional Mechanics. Difficulty Modes, Randomizer Settings, Only Bringing A Certain Amount Of Pokemon To A Gym Fight, Rematches, Side Quests, Etc. It's Some Nice Quality Of Life & Adds Some Extra Difficulty As Well As Content
It's Definitely One Of The Better Fan Games I've Played
Real Rating: 6.5/10
It's Solid - Definitely A Refreshing Experience
The Graphics Are Pretty 50/50 For Me. Sometimes They Look Extremely Pretty, But Then Also Blocky & Low Quality
I Really Enjoyed The Gameplay. It Was Something New & Unique So It Was Fun To Experience - Being Able To Just Catch Pokemon In The Wild Without Battling Has Always Been Something I've Thought About. And In Practice, It's Actually Really Cool. The New Styles Are Also Solid, They Mix The Turns Up In A Decently Interesting Way
The Bosses Were Also Pretty Great. They're So Entirely Different From The Regular Gameplay & Decently Challenging. For Their First Time Making Fights Like This, They Did Well Making Them Fun & Engaging
The Post Game Also Has Quite A Lot Of Stuff To Do, So It's Nice To See Them Put Some More Effort Into That
The Pokedex Is Something That I Found Especially Neat. It's Cool Seeing What Their Thoughts Were About These Pokemon Were So Long Ago. And It Actually Makes Sense The Way You Fill The Pokedex Out With Research Tasks - For You To Observe Pokemon Performing Moves, Using Styles, Evoling Them, Etc To Learn More About Them
It Was Kinda Starting To Get Repetitive Near When I Was Finishing Up, But It Never Got Quite Tedious
Fun Concept Done Pretty Well I'd Say
Real Rating: 7.5/10
Gameplay Is Pretty Refreshing And Fun, Even If Basic
Though, The Characterization Is Probably Some Of The Best Out Of All The Sonic Games. They've All (Mostly) Developed And Turned Into Great Characters (Tails & Eggman Especially)
Sage Herself Is Also A Great Character
Enemies Are Pretty Bare-Bones - Not That Challenging To Fight & Lack Variety. But I Will Say There Are Some Fun Enemies Alongside The Boss Fights
Just Running Around The Map Can Be Extremely Fun Given How Fast Sonic Is In This Game
The Environment Itself Is Pretty Bland Compared To Other Sonic Maps Though
The Cutscenes & Music Are Also Insane. Everything Is Just So Cool & Eccentric
The DLC Really Fixes The Issues I Have With The Difficulty. Even Though It Over-Compensates Sometimes, But It's A Fun Challenge
It Also Fixes The Relatively Underwhelming Ending, So That's Cool
But Man, Those Towers Are Infuriating To Climb Initially - It Is A Fun Challenge Though
And The Time Challenge Things On The Top Of The Towers Are Genuinely Fun To Play As Well
Real Rating: 9.5/10
May Very Well Be One Of My Most Replayed Games Of All Time - I Must've Played It Upwards Of 15 Times
I Play It At Least Once Every Year Without Fail
I Can't Not Love This Game
On Almost Every Playthrough I Spend Upwards of 50 Hours Playing, And That's Due To The Post-Game Having An Abundance Of Content On Top Of The Main Game - There's Just So Much To Do:
The Whole New Areas That You Unlock
Seasonal Fights With N
The PWT (Each Important Trainer Having A Remix Of Their OG Theme Is Peak)
Hunting The Legendaries
Clay Tunnel
Abyssal Ruins
Etc Etc Etc
But The White Tree Hollow In Particular Is Great - On Top Of Being Just Having A Cool Atmosphere, It's Very Enjoyable And Quite Challenging, With A Great Final Battle (And A Great Reward)
The Story, White Not As Involved As The Prior Game, Is Still Really Well Written In General
It Being An Actual Sequel To Black & White, Characters Talk About Prior Events, Things Have Changed, Characters Have Developed, Etc
It All Adds A Good Amount Of World Building - It Makes It All Feel Continuous & Connected. It's Great, It's A Perfect Pokemon Experience
And It Being One Of The Last Pokemon Games On The DS, They Really Perfected The Sprites
And I Know How Overstated It Is, But Man, The Music Is So Perfect. Every OST Is A Banger
I Will Say Though, Challenge Mode Is Really Underwhelming - The Difficulty Is Above Average, But Not Hard Enough
But I Mean, At Least We Got A Challenge Mode Here
(It's Also My First Pokemon Game, So I'm Naturally Bias - Though Even Excluding Bias, It's Still A Genuinely Great Game)
Real Rating: 7.5/10
I Think The Characters Are Pretty Entertaining & Decently Well Written. They Have Generally Good Dialogue & A Lot Of Character/Personality I'd Say
There's Also A Lot Of Comedic Moments, Which They're Mostly Decently Funny
Gameplay Is Centered Around Double Battles (The Best Battle Variant), So I Thoroughly Enjoyed Playing
I Think The Expanded Map Was Pretty Necessary. While Colosseum Didn't Really Lack Areas, It Just Feels Much More Fleshed Out With How Many Areas You Can Enter Now. It Makes Everything Feel More Active & Alive
It Being A Sequel, Things Having Changed With The Passage Of Time Is Cool To See. Like Cipher Having Been Old News & Their Re-appearence Shocking Everyone, Team Snag'em Being Run Down, The New Colosseum, Etc
The Animations Are Once Again, Pretty Cool & Detailed. So Full Marks Here
Snag Feature & Shadow Pokemon Are Handled Pretty Much The Same, So Aside From The Process Being Quite A Lot Faster, Hence Less Tedious, My Thoughts Remain The Same
The Re-Introduction Of Wild Encounters Is Also A Neat Addition, Lore Wise & Gameplay Wise. It's Also Entirely Unique To How You Usually Catch Wild Pokemon. It's Not Too Involved, But It's A Good Enough Work Around All Things Considered
The Ending Is Also Pretty Great. It's Basic & Teaches A Very Cliche Lesson, But I Still Think It's Satisfying Regardless
All In All, It's Definitely One Of The Best Spin-Off Games I've Played. It's Exremely Charming & It Was An Absolute Banger
