This probably was one of the toughest game rating I've done so far, on one hand I couldn't find anything truly wrong with this game or even in need of improvement and on the other hand, the other games I've rated 9/10 had a bit of an edge over this one if I were to post the way I truly felt about these games, so also ign don't support it this game was a solid 8.6/10 therefor I can't stress this enough I can't find any criticism for this game. one thing for sure this was THE best star wars game I've ever played actually their aren't even in the same league, besides the old ones I think there is only one more Star wars game I haven't tried, (which would be nice if available on gamepass sometime soon) and so far this is the only game I recommend I even go as far as hooping the other game would be in the same direction because despite the popularity of the battlefront series I really believe that a shouter can't transfer the best experience of this lore and also I'm not a souls like fan and I have mention this countless time before but I enjoyed and understand this game much better than all of the other star wars games (currently available on gamepass). I also seize this opportunity to once again adjust the potential of the unreal engine for delivering an aesthetically breathtaking game that also include all required optimizations so it performs acceptably on any platform, what I'm trying to say is that more developers must use this engine (not all of them) but more. let me just rap it up with the reason this game wasn't a 10/10, not a criticism which can be fixed or neither I want to be fixed but what could have made this game a 10/10: it is no surprise that the story is always the determinative factor for me and here like most recent star wars titles the element Darth Vader was poorly used, this is independent opinion of mine which has nothing to do with gaming and more with writing which is very important part of game development sure but it just wouldn't fit here
first and for most this review is for the new optimized version of the game. if this game also included a campaign it would be a 10/10, never the less i understand company's reasons so i don't complain. even so i declare this game the best multiplayer FPS that I've ever played and keep in mind that i was a COD fan. it is truly amassing how it could deliver such massive, well detailed, high graphic world and still keep the performance, I play the game on maxed out setting on my medium ranged lap top and i still get up to 90 fps and it's mostly stable. battlefield 2042 made a true come back with this level of efficiency. games world design is gorgeous and there is no match for it's gameplay experience. it makes me feel like a traitor to say but this battlefield beats COD 10 to 1
The story makes the top five of the game that i personally played the plot and the mechanism were innovational indeed but the split screen was to no good, i understand the developers intention to avoid a classic co-op campaign experience and make a false feeling of the other player experience but its just annoying, it limits your view and you would never get use to it (beside the fact that the game has only 7 hours of gameplay).
the mini-games and side objectives where mostly waste of time besides a few, i would prefer fewer side missions but with better mechanism design so you could actually enjoy the time you're spending off the main story.
the story as a hole was perfect but in details like certain short-term decisions wasn't logical, i don't get to the details but lets just say that the developers should have spent a little more time and care while plotting the game.
the physics and movement and the general mechanisms like driving and shooting isn't something to admire but acceptable for the purpose of this game.
I know it was intentional but i won't remain silent some missions were with out a doubt a COPY of the uncharted franchise
over all Great story, questionable choice of game-play contents and the split screen is just wrong at least make it optional
I don't consider my self a MMORPG player at all i simply lack the patience, yet genshin made an exception.
I even didn't know the game genre when i first download it, at first the fighting mechanisms and graphic didn't catch my eye and i only kept playing to get my hands on aloy character but as i went through the main story i realized the game has a surprisingly great story, I can't even point at the reasons you just cope with characters and their logics.
at its simplicity you can find countless deep and well-thought details which is surprising considering games first impression.
the game-play by it self is brilliant even as a player who avoids MMORPGs you would easily learn to enjoy it over time.
and there is no need to discuss the amount of the play-time, today the main story alone has a 60 hour game-play and more than 500 hour to full completion which basicly means that you can die on this game.
an other surprisingly noticeable feature of the game is how they could keep adding content to the game and keep it relevant to the already existing content even keep it deep and logical too.
in a more simple words genshin impact is one of the most under-rated games of this generation i can stress this enough i don't like RPGs, genshin is one of two MMORPGs that i really enjoy playing and simply can't get enough of.
only two flaws i can find in this game
one is that it was built in unity which i can see why, according to make a anime themed game they go with a well proved engine in 2D game development which can handle 3D games as well but it simply was wrong, unreal would have been far more suitable for a game of this mass and it could create better graphic, lighting, detail and keep the anime art style.
two, game has a ranking mechanism (adventure rank) and each mission (quest) has its own minimum adventure rank to start i simply see it as a way to extend play-time which with the amount of content in genshin is obsoletely unnecessary, its just annoying.
