This is a game i wanted to love but just didn’t. I bounced off Witcher 1 and 2 but from all the hype thought Witcher 3 would be the one. I started it a few different times and this time finally put forth a good effort. 44 hours in i just didn’t care or not if i continued on. There were a few interesting story elements (the Bloody Baron and Wild at Heart quests) but after those i felt i was doing a lot of fetch quests. I had so much **** in my inventory for crafting i could barely pick anything up anymore but had no idea what could be discarded or sold. Honestly i hate crafting in any game. Anyhow, it wasn’t terrible but for me it was just not a great experience. Having just finished a number of triple AAA games this just really struck me as a C. I dont feel like dedicating anymore time to it and so far not a single game from this developer has been something i have finished and i tend to finish games. Not sure if i will try Cyberpunk or not.

I loved this game but honestly being an older gamer i just don’t have the reaction time and skills to get through it. I made it about 50% and it took me forever. I may return to it at some point but for now i am going to give it a rest. I wish more of these types of games would implement a system like Hades did in order to allow people to progress without having to go to full on invincibility. The adaptable help allows you to progress with a challenge. I thought that was a huge success. If you have to go to God mode it just destroys the game but a little help to not be stuck for a ridiculous amount of time is welcome to keep the game progressing. I really want to see and explore the rest of the world but some of the Boss encounters just had me hitting the wall with no way to progress.

I guess this game just wasn’t for me. I played about six hours. It was “ok” but I just kept waiting to become more interested. Essentially I felt like I walked around trying to exhaust dialogue options. I read quite a bit but have never really enjoyed interactive stories. If I remember correctly I bounced off Planescape Torment way back in the day yet I devoured all the Baldur’s Gate and similar games. Since many loved it I am going to to chalk it up as just not my thing. With so many games in the backlog if I’m not in at the five or six hour mark it’s time to move on.

With decades of game experiences behind me ( i was around when Pong was a new thing) I believe this may be the best gaming experience i have ever had. Incredible story and investment into the characters. The ending left me speechless. It’s hard to consider what might actually be a follow on game to play after this experience.

Awesome game. I had been meaning to play it but being an older gamer (who was never terribly good at these types of games) it seemed a bit intimidating. After clearing the first two bosses i was pretty stuck and ended up using God mode. Their implementation was really good. It gives you a 20% defense bonus and goes up 2% up to 80% each time you die. It was good as it was still hard for me but eventually after about 50 runs i made it to the surface with God Mode at about 40%. I’m long past caring about my pride and ego. I just wanted to have fun and see it through. This made it possible without becoming totally invulnerable and ruining the game. I hope other developers learn from this. Otherwise i would have probably bounced off of it. Anyhow, it was great fun and now that i have made it and know what I’m doing my next goal will be to make it with no help.
